sorry i’m going on now, but i just really love the human instinct to make something when a tragedy like this happens. i think there’s something beautiful in it. pouring all your love into a drawing, writing up a post saying everything he meant to you, making something-something-anything with your hands or your words or your voice. my brother’s gold foil crown and my sister’s felt pig. art and grief always will go hand in hand.

I love love love how tommy always goes back to l'manberg's ideals, and I love how they're an indication that he's healing. when tommy acted out violently, when he was wearing netherite armor, he was wielding the axe of peace, he was physically stronger. he won his battles, he fell into a routine. but he wasn't happy. he got so upset with himself once he realized how horrible he was acting. after doomsday, he started to shed that armor. eventually, he put the axe of peace away. he wore diamond instead, he only used iron tools. he started talking to people again. he buried his most valuable items so he could move on completely. he was keeping himself grounded, he started to have hope again. he began to actually process wilbur's death, shedding the idea that he was completely evil, and instead started thinking of him more reasonably. the ideals he learned so long ago, the ideals he learned from wilbur, helped him heal. he keeps what he's learned so close to his heart and it's so lovely.
