Soap who has started to carry extra knives on him, sharpened just the way Ghost had taught him to. i know we make fun of buck for having zero friends outside the 118 (and even then its only 4 people from his shift and their respective partners/family) but eddies worse. eddie spent months in el paso and didnt even attempt to form a single relationship at all despite assuming his move was permanent. because he had buck. every minute not driving or hanging out with son was spent talking to buck. making friends never even crossed his mind.

i think buck bought eddie a keychain before he went to texas..just something silly. maybe even just one of those california tourist keychains and buck looked and looked until he found one with Eddie on it… and buck had almost forgotten about it, now that eddies back, and they’re roommates..but eddie had tossed his keys on the counter.. and buck sees the “EDDIE” one he bought him all those months ago..and another one hanging their too.. a little keychain with a dalmation on it…and Buck inscribed in the middle…and there they were, next to each other on these keys splayed out on the kitchen counter…Buck&Eddie… and buck almost tears up..”oh yeah…well obviously they didn’t have one on the rack that said Buck…” eddie says..noticing Buck looking .. “soo I bought a blank one..and then found a shop that personalizes keychains..and then mailed it to them..and then waited for them to engrave it..or whatever they do..and then they mailed it back..and. I put it on my keyring and....i had meant to give it to you when i got back but…”
