Draken had always been observant. It was one of the things that stood out about him. And one of the things he noticed was your gift-giving. And if there was one thing he had noticed about you, it was how much you liked giving. Always showing up with something! Whether it was a little trinket, a snack you thought he’d like, or just remembering the dumb stuff he’d mentioned in passing. It wasn’t even about the gifts themselves. It was the way you cared. You noticed the small things. The kind of effort most people never thought to put in.

As your boyfriend, he was always on the receiving end. So, he figured it was about time he flipped the script. Found you something just as good—better, even. He wasn’t the best with this kind of thing—thoughtful surprises, sweet gestures, all that sentimental shit. That was more your style. But if there was one thing Draken refused to do, it was half-ass something, especially when it came to you.

So, he started watching you closer, picking up on the little things, waiting for the perfect idea to hit. He already knew what you liked, but getting you something generic didn’t sit right with him. It had to be perfect—something that showed he was paying attention, just like you always did for him.

And then, one day, it finally clicked.

The two of you were out on a small café date before he had to head off to take care of business. Nothing out of the ordinary—just a quiet moment together, the kind he didn’t get enough of. But as he sipped his coffee, he caught you eyeing something through the shop window across the street. A LEGO set. Not just any set, either. The kind that made your eyes linger, that had you tilting your head slightly like you were already imagining putting it together.

That was it.

Draken didn’t say anything in the moment. He just locked the idea in place. He’d found your perfect gift. Now, all he had to do was get his hands on it.

So tirelessly, he worked, pushing himself to earn the money (the right way) to buy that LEGO set for you. He didn’t want it to be just another gift; he wanted to earn it. This wasn’t just about showing love! it was about proving something. That he was paying attention. That he put effort into this relationship, just like you always did. He never wanted you to feel like it was one-sided, like you were the only one giving. That was unfair to you after all.

This was his way of showing that he cared—not just with words, but with action.

Once he finally got it, he didn’t even bother wrapping it. There was no point, he just wanted to see your reaction. He wondered how you’d take it. Would you light up? Would you get all emotional and start bawling? Either way, he didn’t care—he just wanted to see you.

Without a word, he found you, grabbed your wrist, and tugged you toward his bike. “C’mon,” was all he said before kicking up the stand and taking off. He didn’t even answer when you asked where you were going—just smirked and kept his eyes on the road.

The second you stepped inside his place, he made sure to block the way, arms crossed like he was guarding something.

“See, baby—I pay attention,” he started, tone casual, but there was something smug about it. And he was smug about it. He wants you to know he’s THE shit. But he wasn’t letting you past just yet. Not until he finished. “You’re always givin’ us shit, always takin’ care of everybody.”

Then, with a slow nod, he stepped aside, letting you finally see it.

The LEGO set you’d been eyeing for weeks, sitting right there in his living room. And next to it? A bouquet of LEGO flowers. He wasn’t sure why, but something about it made him think of you. Maybe ‘cause it’d last longer than real ones—just like the way he felt about you.

“You’re always givin’ me stuff,” he muttered, rubbing the back of his neck before leaning down, pressing a firm kiss to your forehead.

“Figured it was my turn. Love you, baby.”
