god i hate the whole "you're just mad bc the writers didn't do what you wanted" thing. by the same logic, people who say that only like it bc they got what they wanted; the actual quality of the writing and whether it holds up under scrutiny doesn't matter.
which is just. bullshit.
like you do you, if your enjoyment relies on whether a show does what you want or not and you don't care how it got there, completely valid. not gonna stop you or anything.
but if people are literally analyzing a show, talking about its writing and where it fails, at best it's idiotic to barge in with a "you're just mad bc the writers didn't do what you wanted" and at worst you're intentionally trying to oversimplify the issue at hand in an attempt to make others seem "unreasonable" in their critique by making it a preference thing when it's. not.

this anti-criticism/critical analysis wave some of y'all like to be on is making some of you bitches soft. 'don't like, don't watch, don't like, don't read, if you didn't like the game then why did you play it?'
maybe some of us come into a piece of art hopeful and excited for the possibilities, and are disappointed when it falls short. maybe some of us want to critique parts of the art that could have been stronger. is that going to kill you. will you die due to not seeing a constant stream of smoke blown up the creator's ass.

Buck Moon - July 10 2025

Put on your flower crowns and your walking shoes - itâs time for the Buck Moon!
Buck Moon đŚ
The Buck Moon is the name given to the full moon in the month of July and is called this because at this time of year, the rack of antlers previously shed by male deer are beginning to regrow and harden in preparation for the fall rutting season.Â
Other North American Indigenous names for this moon include Salmon Moon (Tlingit), Berry Moon (Anishinaabe), Month of the Ripe Corn Moon (Cherokee), and Raspberry Moon (Algonquin, Ojibwe). The West Abenaki also call this the Thunder Moon in reference to the often-stormy summer weather. (This one is my personal favorite and the name appears in lunar calendars just as often as the Buck Moon.)
European names for the July moon include Hay Moon and Wort Moon, and it should be noted that the name Stag Moon does appear in some European sources as well.
This yearâs Buck Moon will be at peak illumination at 4:37pm EST on July 10th. It will be below the horizon for that location at that time, but will still count as full for magical purposes when it rises later in the evening.
What Does It Mean For Witches? đŚ
The July full moon continues Juneâs template of planning for the future, this time with a focus on your passions and ambitions. Reflect on what youâve accomplished so far this year and plan your next step.
Dream big and plan big, but donât give in to reckless urgency. Summer (and capitalist grind culture) gives us the urge to Go Go Go. Despite all this, itâs important to take time to rest and recharge, lest we find ourselves burning out and losing our motivation.
What Witchy Things Can We Do? đŚ
Celebrate your victories and revel in the abundance of the summer season. If youâre inclined to do so, take a page from the deer and do a bit of prancing around a bonfire or your favorite flower arbor with some festive flowery headgear.
Go exploring! Find a local park or garden and take a stroll among the greenery, or use TV and the internet to explore and learn about faraway places. This is another opportune time to go and check out pick-your-own farms and farmers markets as well. Sharpen your foraging and plant identification skills while youâre out and about!
If youâre tending a garden, harvest some herbs and investigate what you can make with them. Whether itâs seasoning for meals, homemade botanical products, or just helpful spell ingredients, many herbs and flowers have a plethora of uses. As an exercise, select three plants growing in your yard or garden, research their magical correspondences and botanical properties, and try to think of as many ways as possible to use each one for witchcraft and for practical purposes. For extra credit, pick something native to your area that doesnât appear in the western magical canon and use itsâ physical, folkloric, and historical associations to create something new!
(Safety Note: Always clean and prepare home-harvested herbs properly before using them for kitchen, bath, or medical preparations. Always be sure to properly identify any wildcrafted or foraged plants. Always consult a doctor before trying an herbal treatment and take all allergies, medications, and pre-existing conditions into account. Please also note that while herbal treatments can be helpful, it can have negative interactions and side effects just like any other medication, and it is not meant to be a replacement for modern medical care.)
Apart from the usual full-moon festivities, Iâve always found this is an excellent time for weather-witching. Summer weather is notoriously fickle, but it is also highly malleable - one recalls that old American Southern epithet of, âIf you donât like the weather, wait five minutes.â
If youâre hoping to bring some rain to water your garden or break the back of a heat wave, this may be the time to do it. My personal favorite folk magic ritual for rain-calling involves going outside with a broom and a bucket of water, using the broom to scatter drops of water over your yard, and shouting up to the clouds, âSEE? ITâS NOT HARD!â
Make sure you take local weather patterns into account and try to draw on existing fronts and nearby precipitation to get the desired result. And keep in mind that with weather magic, less is more and one casting is enough. Asking for too much or asking too often can produce undesirable results. And if you manage to make it rain, be sure to collect some for moon water!
If youâre interested in weather-witching, I highly recommend checking out this masterpost by @stormbornwitch for a number of excellent articles and suggestions.
Happy Buck Moon, witches! đđŚ

Have any other witchy/spiritual people run into the problem of not liking sitting close to other people because they can feel their energy mixing with the other person's? Like I stg I never had this problem when I was younger/before I got more into my spiritual journey.

I feel like seeing a pentacle on someone is usually a good indication that they're a witch(at least for me)
I find this post really interesting because for a while the narrative has been "witches are just like everyone else, we dress normally we aren't all goth" which I get why it happened. For the longest time(and in some places it still is the narrative) that witches are horrible people that'll "corrupt children" and "burn in hell", so to combat this people swung hard in the opposite direction. We're now is a place where people want to embrace the stereotypes, to let others know they're witches(when for the longest time everything was rooted in secrecy for survival not only of the craft but also in the literal sense) and I find that really cool!
Yall know how in Kikiâs delivery service she wears that black dress that identifies her as a witch? Yeah, I think we shouls be going that. If your a witch, dress like a witch! I want a pointy hats and cloaks. What is like a symbol we can wear to publicly exist as witches?

Tip: Put sigils on your wrists. They will be powered continuously by the pumping of your veins.
I love this method of powering sigils because as long as you live, you have an endless supply of energy!

you donât need 60 mini spell jars from etsy. you need FRESH AIR and THE SUN. ppl stop feeding witch overconsumption to baby witches and claiming they âNEEDâ something for their practice. itâs ridiculous.
iâm currently working on a large post for free / extremely cheap witchcraft tips because this drives me up the wall.

If you see somebody acting like whatever drugs are popular among alternative crowds right now are the key to true spirituality and fixing everything wrong in society, please take this with a grain of salt. There is evidence that certain consciousness-altering substances have been used by various cultures and people throughout time in what we would consider spiritual contexts, but we also know that lots of people made use of non-substance ways to reach altered states of consciousness.
If you see anyone arguing that substances were what it was all about, please understand that for a long time a lot of people thought that the only explanations for apparent spiritual experiences were either serious mental illness or drugs. There was often a lot of saneism behind these sentiments, with people effectively trying to pathologize what they took to be non-rational experiences. There was also a lot of racism in the presumption that "primitive" people would be unable to recognize severe psychotic states as something unhealthy.
Meanwhile, the pro-substance crowd here has often been making wild overgeneralizations, which are also racist because making sweeping assumptions about Indigenous cultures is racist. They've also contributed to a lot of spiritual extractivism.
So yeah, be wary of the people who act like consciousness-altering substances are the solution to everything.

Good Practices for Grieving Witches
Grief sucks. Itâs weird, itâs exhausting, and it never looks the way you expect. One minute, youâre crying into your tea, and the next, youâre furious at the universe. It could be anticipatory grief (I see you), grief over death, grief over a society we're losing, or anything else. Someone/something doesn't have to die for you to grieve. If you're a witch dealing with grief (or just a person, honestly), here are some things that might help:
đŽ For the âI have no energyâ grief â Light a candle. Thatâs it. No elaborate rituals, no full moon graveyard walks. Just light a candle, maybe whisper their name, and let that be enough. If even thatâs too much? Sleep. Spirits know how to wait.
đĽ For the âIâm so fucking madâ grief â Channel it. Burn shit (safely). Scream at the sky. Write down every angry thought, then tear it up or toss it into running water. Grief is messy, and magic doesnât have to be polite.
đż For the âI just wanna feel close to themâ grief â Make a little spot for them, if that feels right. A photo, a trinket, their favorite snack. Talk to them, even if it feels weird. Signs can be subtle, but sometimes theyâre loud as hell.
đ For the âeverything hurts and I need comfortâ grief â Water is your best friend. Drink it, bathe in it, cry in it, leave an offering in it. Emotions move like waterâlet them flow instead of bottling them up.
Grief is a long, stupid road, but youâre walking it. However you get through itâwhether youâre lighting a candle, throwing hands at the sky, or just taking a deep breathâitâs enough.
