This is an awesome ongoing fanfic series. Part 1 is done and part 2 is still ongoing as of right now. It’s a fem!Lucerys x Aemond story set in diverging timelines. The character growth and plot is beautifully written and if this author ever traditionally or independently published a novel I would buy it no questions asked. 😍😍😍

Time-Bound

Lucerys fought to keep her eyes open, but the darkness drenched her in its suffocating embrace. Suddenly, a deafening cacophony shattered through the void, a piercing screech that clawed at her eardrums like a thousand tortured souls crying out in agony. She could feel hot breath on her neck and the glint of red eyes floating in the abyss as she was dragged even closer to her inevitable end.

Her fingers brushed absently against the bark of the log beneath her, the motion grounding her as her thoughts turned darker. If she had to be here, if someone had to be here with her, why couldn’t it have one of her brothers? Joffrey’s laughter would have lightened even this bleak world. Or even Aegon—she could have tolerated his sulking and self-importance, his drunken complaints.

summary:

sammie moore, pregnant and suffering from an injury after a group of bandits raid the juke joint, is rescued and taken to a choctaw reservation for treatment. his sire and his family come for him at night.

the way remmick covets sammie’s spiritual connection is very reminiscent imo to the reason ghosts and demons possess the living. the dead covet what they once had and lost. remmick’s soul is stuck: he’s cursed to an existence in a veritable echo chamber, alone, living indirectly through his victims and repeating the same patterns over and over. sammie was his one unique chance to finally escape limbo on earth and it underscores the mounting desperation on full display from him throughout the story.

Something for the "Remmick still lives" au thought is Sammie making his way as a blues musician and ending up in Chicago like he wanted, getting popular and more known. Unfortunately, this is the same city with the two dangerous violent mobs that just so happened to have been robbed by his cousins (who all share the same last name) not too long ago. They grab Sammie and threaten him to contact his cousins so the Italian and Irish mobs can get payback for their stolen goods, but he keeps telling them they're not here anymore, it's no use, which makes his chances at survival look worse. Word gets out about Sammies kidnapping, and a certain someone on the lookout for him happens to overhear.

And that someone reacts accordingly.

Cut to Sammie in whatever warehouse or abandoned building he was being held in now surrounded by a dozen mutilated dismembered gangster bodies, and an absolutely feral Remmick standing in front of him completely drenched in so much blood and gore, a big relieved shark-toothed smile plastered on his face because "you're ok! :D I was so worried for you darlin'! :D" Nevermind the mess, his songbird is safe and here and nothing will get between them again now that he's found him

All the while Sammie is realizing he was better off with the gangsters

The image of absolutely blood-drenched (and maybe even also covered with guts 😵‍💫) Remmick looking joyful since Sammie is safe is just soooo hrrghhh i need to draw that for sure.

Remmick spent so long trying to find where his songbird was, he was worried sick and it surprised him just how much attention he had for this human. He went around asking people, forcing answers out of people, breaking bones instead breaking skin to piece together the info he got (but also sucked extra meals out of these bastards but Remmick is still much more focused on finding his Sammie)

Blood-bathed Remmick walking in excitement towards Sammie, hands reaching out to hug him/caress/bite/whatever, only for Sammie to scramble away and stumble out of the ransacked warehouse - just in time for the sunrise.

Once again they're locked in stalemate, only now with Sammie outside and Remmick inside, the reverse of their usual situation for the past weeks. The sun gleams behind Sammie and the rays nearly reaches out to burn the vampire but Remmick keeps standing and staring at him anyway...

Idk if Remmick should continue to act cheery yet still promising to keep close to Sammie whatever the other feel, or if he should feel a little bit bitter and voice out his disappointment at how ungrateful Sammie is acting for his savior... But unable to drag his songbird closer because of the sun

His fingers tighten around her hips and for the first time she’s really trying to get off of him. “Rem, I think, I don’t—”

“Shh, be quiet.” He pulls her further into his body, wrapping his arms tightly around her and moving his hips. Sammie feels a tears spark at the edge of her eyes, but her arms are caught under his, so she can’t wipe them away.

Just saw a comment about The Corinthian and Johanna being John Constantine’s parents and it’s such a wild and hilarious headcanon. Imagine John, lighting a cigarette after a heated romp: My old man is a nightmare.

So since anything can happen in the Dreaming, how often do you think Hob dreams of his Dream? And do you think Lucienne and Matthew drop by or watch from a distance because they just miss the sound of his voice? The sight of him? Maybe even Corinthian visits every now and then.

Hob will live forever, and so they have eternity to visit his dreams and see their Dream again, never allowing themselves to forget him, even if everyone else does.

This is going to be a little messy, but here goes:

It kills me that a core part of Silco's story is how he's never the one who gets chosen, never the priority.

Vander chose the kids, Sevika only cares about who can best free Zaun, and by the time Jinx has him tied up in the cannery, in her mind, the choice is already made. Nobody makes him a true priority, while he does everything he does out of love. He's so alone, and things could have been so different if he wasn't.

Decisions Are Happening Dinner by Lil_Munchkin

Vampire / Werewolf high-fantasy AU. I'm v picky with high-fantasy AUs but I think this one is so well done. Sil took Viktor in when he's a bit older than Devotions, and the relationship is a lot more fraught / toxic. Wonderful character study (I feel). Also i adore protective sister Powder!!! Rife with betrayal etc.

some parts of this is OOC but honestly, i don't care because ;A; protective Sil. Read with fairy-tale expectations! A lovely story.

Crystals and Cogs by WanderingAether

age-different AU, where Vik and Powder are similar ages and both adopted by Sil. I personally feel differently about how Sil would react to various events in this story but that doesn't take away from enjoyment. love love love the family exploration. I think sil is closer to Powder here?

The Murderbot Diaries was like here's a person. The person doesn't feel like a person.

The person is starting to believe it's a person, and its pronouns are still it/its. It's uncomfortable with eye contact, it hates being touched, it doesn't like social interaction, it doesn't have great control of it's facial expressions. And the person's friends all know this and respect it, and it can show affection how and when it feels and it's ok if it isn't "normal." It isn't questioned or doubted in its care because of this.

The person processes emotions through media, and uses it to figure out what to do in social situations. It has complicated feelings about what it was meant to be and reconciling that with who it wants to be. It doesn't always feel like a person but it's starting to accept that it is one.

Also it has laser weapons in its arms.
