“The Jedi” episode was preparing us for the finale
So, remember how in episode 5 we all thought Grogu and Mando would get separated if Ahsoka agreed to train the baby? The brief tender moments between the Mando and a sleepy Grogu, before Ahsoka steps back and points them instead where to go? Yes, that was just the begging.
Then, in ep. 8 (ch. 16), the Jedi that answered Grogu’s calling back at Tython comes to his aid. This Jedi, Luke Skywalker, is the one that ultimately takes Grogu to be properly trained, not before we witness the tearjerking/heartbreaking farewell scene we were expecting at some point: the foundling getting to see and touch the real face of his protector, his father, the man that rescued him from so many dangers now showing real emotions before him, emotions that used to be shielded all the time behind his helmet, and who reassures him that they will see each other again and to not be afraid.

(in b4 I apologize for the quality of the photos).
Hey guys, here I bring you a little something to compensate the lack of updates, more Baby Yoda/Grogu content for you, still in progress.
So I thought I'd try and mimic other art styles, like I usually like to do, and this came out, our favorite green bean in the glory of the 2003 Clone Wars cartoon (the Genndy Tartakovsky one).
So just you know, I started making doing this around the same time as my previous BY work, and retook it coincidentally before the episode 5 came out, and now that we know that our baby was indeed being trained in Coruscant, adding Yoda here is no longer a mere occurrence of mine.

You tell ‘em!
Reminder that Dave Filoni created Ahsoka and knows her better than anyone, so could y'all stop nitpicking "The Jedi" for five seconds?!?
That's his character on screen and his writing and his directing. He is seeing something come true that he probably never dreamed of when he made Clone Wars.
The man literally pours his heart and soul into this hellscape of a franchise, and this fandom does not deserve the passion he puts in.
Show some goddamn respect.

So I noticed that in the closing credits of Ep. 5, one of the concept art pictures shows Peli Motto and the Child held hostage by Toro Calican...

...and Baby Byoda is actually crying! Like omg, it broke my heart!

Imagine if this actually happened in the show, even if it were just sounds, it would have triggered Mando (and the audience) a little more than a simple gun pointed at them.

UPDATE: edited some of the figures and added some extra shading.
First time I upload artwork in quite some time.
Here, have some Baby Yoda in a onesie sketches, originally intended to be quickies. Some are baby poses practices as well as trying a more cartoony style, so I hope you don’t mind if here might be some things off.
Inspired mainly in this work: https://orientalld.tumblr.com/post/189626099812/can-you-imagine-him-murmuring-lullaby-with-that (hint: it’s the first panel)
I'll make a part 2 and some other pics of our green bean.

My reactions through the second half of Episode 7 (edited for spoilers) *warning, long post*:
During the meeting with the client
Moff Gideon calls, then sudden shooting occurs
Death Troopers appear...
Storm Troopers arrive, guys are surrounded...
Well, at least Kuiil and the baby is safe and out of reach, right?
Mando calling Kuiil, but signal is intercepted
Gideon shows up
Scouts Troopers chasing after Kuiil
Fast forward to them getting closer...
but then ...
Kuiil!?
Episode ends while trying to process what just happened...
Everyone right now

This would be a chronological watching of the Star Wars movies. But it is not the order you should watch.
For you convenience, this is the order you should watch the Star Wars movies in: Rogue One, A New Hope, Solo, Empire Strikes Back, Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, Return of the Jedi, Force Awakens, Last Jedi, Rise of Skywalker.
You're welcome.
