The way everything catches up to Luke when he hears Annabeth's voice, you can see his heart breaking in his eyes. His kid sister, the girl whose team he's always on, who idolizes him and adores him completely is looking at him like he's a monster. And that might the be most heartbreaking thing yet.

A thought
Okay last post of the night, then i'm finally going to bed.
Spoilers
A wounded and unraveling Alastor in his radio tower...
I don't think this bodes well. Partially, his line of "Great Alastor, altruist, nearly died for his friends." Because he was rather collective before then he sing that line and he started to unravel. The sheer concept of that line is ludicrous to him, yet it nearly happen.
One: He walks around like hes untouchable but he cruelly force to realize his own mortality.
Two: I think he realized that he actually starting to care beyond superficial. That the people at the hotel became his friends. Its unbecoming to a demon like him. He doesn't want to care or befriend them meaningfully. He nearly fucken died, and for what? Them? Their friendship made him weak and I think that's what making him distraught.
In the next part of his song about wanting freedom and trying to find a loophole in his contract. So, I think he is in fact, commanded to watchover the hotel. A command that nearly got him killed. a command Alastor cant get away of the things that's making him go soft.
This man barely keeping it together at this point.
I have to rewatch it to see solidify this opinion but that was my first take.

every look troy baker (as james) sent david was so incredibly well acted. you knew exactly what he was thinking as soon as he saw david lay his eyes on ellie for the first time. you saw it again when he left him with her in the battered cabin, and when he carried her off back to their resort. he knew exactly what was going to happen but he didn’t know how to get out of it without him being murdered for it. we saw james go to shoot ellie, and i doubt it was for vengeance, he would’ve been saving her. and he knew that david didn’t care for him, we saw that once ellie murdered him, david didn’t give james a second thought because ellie was his priority. just phenomenal.

OKAY but Alastor’s and Lucifer’s (i hope it’s his) towers both being on the opposite end is giving “Fuck you. I hate you. But I still care for OUR daughter.”
i truly hate them both (lovingly)
