Our plan is to even out the connections more, so everyone will at least have two but no more than five. We also plan to have family based connections within the bio instead just because they are family. I hope that answered your question!

It has been five days as of today! We have been busy getting the new graphics done and preparing to do some new bios. Once we complete the new character bios we will be reposting all the old character bios with their new graphics and updated connections.

The old admins both felt that they did not have the time to run the rp anymore and decided to step down from running the rp. The other new Admins and I did not want to see the rp close down, and we volunteered to continue running Magazine Empires.
We’re going through a mini-revamp so to speak at the moment, updating character connections and graphics, planning new bios, etc., so expect us to be up and running at full capacity soon!

A couple of days can be a little busier, but I think I can be online every day to at least write my replies. Triggers: Nothing in particular. The Character
Which character are you applying for? Olivia Sharp Why have you chosen this character? I’ve recently played character that were way out of my comfort zone and I’m proud of that, but when I came across your rp I was looking for something familiar and Olivia was the perfect match. I actually had another character in mind, but as soon as I read her bio it was love at first sight. One of my most beloved characters was similar to Olivia and I’ve been longing to do something like that again. I love all the development chances she offers and I can’t wait to discover all the unknown parts of her life. Describe this character in your own words: Olivia is someone who always had to fight to earn what she wanted. She wasn’t strong, she wasn’t rich, she wasn’t popular and people always made sure to remind her of all that and try to bring her down with any chance they got. But they never managed it and I think the main reason for that was her mother. Olivia had seen her struggling and making it all her life, to pay the bills, to buy food, to bring her up. She was always her daughter’s role model and she taught her that if you are determined enough, you can make it. She takes pride in all that she has accomplished, exactly because nothing was handed to her. But that’s also what makes her quite impatient and bitter towards lazy people. Now that she works among heirs and socialites, she can’t help but hold a sense of resentment for them, since they’ve done nothing to earn their spot on the top. She is generally kind to everyone, but can come off as harsh and even rude to the weary and weak; as far as she is concerned, they have no excuse- if she made it, they can too, and complaining is not going to get them anywhere. Writing sample: “You said you have something for me?” Olivia’s mother asked after they greeted each other outside the Runway building. Her daughter just smiled and grabbed her arm, beginning to walk down the street. As they walked together, one could easily believe they were just two friends going on a walk. Or, due to their resemblance, think that the woman was Liv’s older sister. Having a child at sixteen tended to have that effect, but they wouldn’t change a thing. “Just walk with me for a while and you’ll see,” she encouraged her, trying to hide her excitement. She remembered her early days back in Hackney and how bad things could get. Days that it started to rain and she didn’t have an umbrella, so she tried her best to hide under balconies because she knew that she had nothing else to wear if she got wet. Always hurrying home after school because the other kids only had mean things to say and she preferred to hide in her bedroom. She could hardly believe she and the girl in her memories were the same person. They really weren’t. Those days were way past her and even though she had never thought that one day she would be walking in downtown London full of confidence, in clothes you could see in the windows of the most well-known stores in the city, it was now the reality. But what really made the difference was the smile she could see on her mother’s face, the proudness in her eyes. Just for that, all the hard work had been worth it. “Do you see the building behind me?” Liv asked, suddenly stopping in front of a huge apartment building. “Is this where Ms Cecilia lives?” her mother asked, her voice full of respect like every time she spoke of the other woman. Liv laughed and opened her purse, pulling out her set of keys. She took one off the ring and held it out, much to her mother’s surprise. “You didn’t… It’s not…” she tried to put into words her sudden realization, but failed. “Third floor, apartment C. I paid the bond yesterday. Welcome home.” Her jaw dropped open and she hugged her so tight she thought her bones were going to break. There were no more memories in Liv’s mind, only dreams for the future, and for once it looked so bright.

When Olivia graduated from college, her mother gave her a necklace which depicted an eagle with open wings. They never really exchanged gifts due to their financial troubles, but she gladly accepted that because of her mother’s words. She said that even when she feels she’s falling, the eagle will always help her open her wings and fly again, like she’s been doing all her life. She wears it constantly and truly feels naked without it. What would your character do to relax? Olivia moves around the city a lot during her day, which means she drives, she walks, she uses the underground. After all the hustle and bustle, she often finds herself riding her bicycle around the city at night, something that always helps her relax and sleep better. If you had to choose one song to fit your character, what would it be? Could I suggest a Nikolaj Coster-Waldau FC as a York or maybe an in law to the Lancasters? Perhaps Ingrid has a twin brother or the late Eleanor Lancaster had a brother?
Absolutely! I love Nikolaj, so I’ll add him to the FCs for the next batch. It’ll likely be as a cousin to the Yorks. If you have further ideas and you’d like to play him, you’re more than welcome to submit some ideas to us as a character request.

The Character
Which character are you applying for? ANDREA LANCASTER Why have you chosen this character? I fell in-love with her bio the moment I’ve read it. Andie seems like the kind of girl who is the embodiment of class; she knows her worth and isn’t afraid to stand up for herself, but she picks her battles wisely and fights them with elegant grace. I think that there is so much potential behind a character like Andie and I’m looking forward to really exploring the possibilities of developing her further. Describe this character in your own words: I personally think that Andie is the kind of person who is a thinker. She contemplates stuff in a really intense way, and she has a sort of quiet conviction about her. Andie isn’t the loudest voice in the room, but when she speaks out, it matters. It matters because her words aren’t cheap – they don’t come by often but they always have an impact. I also think that Andie is the kind of person who has a placating effect on people. Her simple gestures, her friendly smiles, they manage to put people at ease and make them feel like they’re meant to be where they are. Although she is a romantic and easily swoons when she sees someone who is “prince-charming material” (based mostly on physical features), Andie is actually very picky when it comes to the people she goes out with, which is probably why she’s never fallen in-love. Maybe picky is the wrong word, but she’s looking for something – a spark maybe, that would let her know that this is person is the one. Many of the men she went out with in the past tended to have huge egos, which is a definite turn off for her. She’s mainly looking for someone she can talk to for hours without getting bored, someone who can make her laugh, and someone who is different – separate from the world that she was born into. Writing sample: It was always a little heartbreaking every time Andie sees children falling in line to receive the neon blue UNICEF bags that are being handed to them during their relief programs. She could clearly see the look of eagerness in their eyes and the apparent excitement to open the bags and see what they have received, things that they could hardly afford because of their situation in life. What’s in the bag wasn’t much, but by the looks on the children’s faces, you would have thought they’d just received some grand gift for Christmas. They say thank you over and over, and despite the black hole of sadness that just opened up in her chest, Andie gives them a smile, the kind that lights up her whole face and warms up whoever was on the receiving end of the gesture. She couldn’t help but think about how lucky she was for being born into a privileged life, and it’s because of this that she always felt like it was her obligation to give back somehow, in any way that she can. She had been in Uganda for two days now for this particular outreach program, and even here her steps are being followed and her every action being photographed. Andie should have gotten used to it by now; after all, this was the kind of life that she was born into, but it just wasn’t something that a person could get used to. She tried to ignore the camera clicks and flashes and focus on the kids – because they’re the ones who matter right now, but it gets hard especially when people seem to have lost any regard for her personal space. She knew that they wouldn’t be talking about how she helped the children in this little town where they starved and got sick and help took such a long time reaching them. No, they would be talking about what she wore, what color of lipstick she used, what brand were her shoes. It was a frustrating way to live, but Andie had no choice but to deal with it. Despite her discomfort, she spent the whole day with the children just like what it said in her itinerary from UNICEF. She talked to those who knew how to speak English and even conversed with the locals in Swahili, despite her limited knowledge of the language. Andie listened, something she was good at, and she gave the right responses all the time. At the end of the day, everyone left feeling a little better than when they came, including Andie herself. She was going back to London soon, where real life was waiting for her. Despite the “better” state of things over there, a little part of the brown-eyed girl wished that she could just stay in this foreign place she was in. What would your character do to relax? Read a good book while drinking tea or browsing fashion magazines or fashion blogs while in bed wearing comfortable clothes. Andie probably enjoys going to the spa as well and loves going to the beach. If you had to choose one song to fit your character, what would it be?
