This got done a lot later than I hoped (got distracted a lot), but I managed to finish it. So, here it is.

This is technically my engagement gift to @dingodoodles featuring her monkey, Sips, and my cursed sorcerer, Ruth. And yes, she had been waiting in that hallow cake all this time.

Congratulations on your engagement, Dingo. May you and Felix share a happy life together.

The Last Thing I'll Say for 2024

Happy New Year Eve! Or New Year’s day depending on when you see this.

2024 is ending… and for the first time in my life, I am not looking forward to what follows.

I can’t really have an optimistic outlook, especially after all that happened this year with bad internet bills (such as KOSA) and AI development (the latter especially hurts with Tumblr deciding to get so involved with it). Then after the election, my hope for the future had hit an all time low… I won’t say the year was all bad, but there was more stress than relief.

The future has always been a scary thing, but for me, it didn’t hit as hard until recently. However, time doesn’t stop for anyone, and there’s no choice but to go forward…

It feels like those heroes who are thrusted into life changing adventures and learn to roll with the punches. At least, I have those close to me that remind that I’m not alone; confiding trusted friends and family members is one way to keep the hope alive. Also, there’s a lot of indie animation I look forward to seeing.

And so, I would like to end the year the a quote that reminds me to keep going:

“Someday, the Cloud of Doom will be gone,” said Mrs. Jewls. “And the world will be a much better place, even better than before the cloud. Colors will be more colorful. Music will be more musical. Even Miss Mush’s food will taste good. The brighter the storm, the brighter the rainbow.”

The characters can still get development after their "spotlight episodes." In fact, the whole concept of the spotlight episodes is kind of just a vague classification system, and you may never know what's gonna happen next!

A lot has already been said about the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA), and I think it's about time I say something about it too.

For those who don't know what KOSA is, it is an internet bill that allows the government to oversee what is present online (particular social media websites) and makes these sites accountable should they show content that is "harmful to children." At least, that's how I define it. You would find more accurate information by looking up other websites (just make sure it's a trustworthy site), or you could just check out this link right here.

While I do think the internet needs some moderation, the KOSA bill is not an ideal solution as it encourages censorship on topics that I think are important (such as LGBQT information), and I don't trust the government to monitor my internet activity.

Congress might be going into recess soon by the time this post is out, but with the bill passing Senate, and with the Committee giving it a little push, the KOSA bill has the potential to become a law any time soon.

So, if you are a US citizen, I greatly encourage you to contact your local congressman and remind them why this bad internet bill is nothing more than a bad idea.

As negotiations between the AMPTP and T.A.G. (@animationguild) continue forward... we STILL need to continue supporting all the talented artists and animators who help bring "Craig of the Creek", "Jessica's Big Little World" and DOZENS of other animated films and series' to life, as they're fighting for better payments, better work schedules, and better protection against A.I.

We encourage ALL OF YOU to spread the word across the internet by sharing this post to everyone you know, or making your own posts using #stand with animation and help keep the Animation Industry from becoming a A.I. generated nightmare.
