St. Louis in summer! 🌞 This is one of my favorite spots in Forest Park, which was recently named America's #1 City Park! It boasts 1,371 acres of gorgeous scenery, a free Zoo, free History Museum, free Science Center, free Art Museum, a Boat House, pavillions, walking trails, sportsball courts and fields, a golf course, waterfalls, lakes, and rivers... and the Kissing Bridge from our wedding day! City Museum in downtown St. Louis! A 100 year old building, formerly a warehouse, that is constantly evolving with new slides, climbing structures, art installations, and exhibits... this place keeps us guessing and never ceases to amaze! A thought: The world will, at times, be so cruel. The least you can do for yourself is to treat yourself with kindness. I invite you to join me in a habit I've been practicing the past few years. Every time you have a needlessly negative thought about yourself (I'm so ugly/stupid/ fill in the blank with your personal poison)... Pause. Breathe. Acknowledge the thought (and perhaps the pattern). Forgive yourself for being so mean to yourself. And then reverse the habit. Give yourself a compliment. Look yourself in the mirror. Say it out loud. It will be difficult at first. Do it anyway. Do it because it's hard, and because you deserve it, and because I want you to, and because the world needs more kindness and the best place to start is with ourselves. Both good AND bad habits take time and energy. How do you choose to invest your time and energy today?
