First shot at digital art. Materials: Adobe Illustrator (free trial) and my sister's tablet.

My main problem with digital painting is the "paper" has no memory. With physical drawing, every hour of work adds energy to the drawing. This is less true with digital painting, since marks can be erased comepletely. I tried to counter that by changing colors every few seconds and using 80-90% opacity.

Sometimes it's hard to know when a drawing is finished. I could keep scribbling on this one forever, but I guess it's time to move on.

Getting back to drawing after a short break. I started by redrawing this piece I made a few days ago. I erased and redrew the whole thing for better color/detail/depth; I added in the background pattern; and I removed the cat, which I didn't like.
