I feel like people have a tendency to forget that Ijichi is the youngest of what we consider the adults in JJK.

So when we see Nanami find him half dead in the streets it's not just a old friend who was almost killed, it is also a under classman to Nanami. And we all know how Nanami feels about his juniors getting hurt or dying.

So now I look at this scene a little different. Nanami is not a man to be messed with when the lives of his underclassmen are on the line.
