Ylvis: Mounting the barricades for Stafsberg

The Ylvis brothers are creating a secret TV project in Hamar. And Vegard will mount the barricades for Hamar airport in Stafsberg.

- This is work in progress, and it is a TV project we don’t know if we will do, but: One we would really like to do. Since it’s in development we can’t say so much. But, in connection with this project we needed to interview several people in Hamar, Vegard Ylvisåker says.

Can be historical

The Ylvis brothers have been in Hamar for 3 days, and have shown big interest for, amongst others, the diving platform during the days they have been in the city.

- This has to do a bit with the coastline, says Vegard Ylvisåker secretively and smiles.

- What do you think about our diving platform?

- Very nice, but we wouldn’t have guesses its value. It’s expensive to buy an advertising place also when Hamar shall be marketed, says brother Bård diplomatically.

There can be several filming days in Hamar later on

- If this turns out to be something, it will be historically good. The best that has been made on Norwegian TV ever, says Vegard.

- Now you have been here several days, so what is your impression of our area?

- A nice place! Really, says Bård.

- We have been here for three days and the sky was unclouded, no wind, the sun shines in Mjøsa and it’s warm and nice. The main value of Hamar is that there’s nice weather here often, says Vegard.

Fighting for Stafsberg

Not everyone knows that Vegard is an educated pilot and passionately into flying. More precisely a Cessna plane. He has visited Hamar with this plane several times.

- I like the airport up here a lot. I think it’s fantastic. There is something very special about Stafsberg; the feeling of coming into an airport so close to the city is very seldom. I heard that there is discussion about closing, and this is a scandal. If that happens I come here to mount the barricades!

- Think of living here in Hamar and have flying as a hobby, in comparison to Oslo where you have to travel outside to Kjeller. Or in Bergen where you have to get out to a strictly controlled airport. When you live in Oslo or Bergen you can never have the advantage of people at home or at work if that is the most effective way of travelling. Because that’s not the case.
