“The city guard are in charge of bucket lines and Alliance footmen are the undisputed bucket heads. Ask them for help.” Sylvanas commanded almost icily.

“Good point! Dark Lady, Dread Lady.”

Clea was out of the room faster than the wind and closed the door with extraordinary care after her. Possibly a little like someone leaving behind two snarling fel hounds.

“Decades of training and centuries of experience, and here my rangers are sent to fight fish in a barrel…” Sylvanas shook her head in pretended exasperation and dispelled some of their actual such. “Please, Jaina, you were saying?” 

Jaina was taking a deep breath.

Someone who was about to listen to something important from her mage should not make note of how the cloth of her robes stretched out when she did that. She really shouldn’t.

"Sylvanas. I want you to possess me."

“You do not find me scary, then?”

“Yes I do.” Jaina whispered and the previous bout of brashness left her. “You scare my fears and my nightmares away.”

And then – For Tides’ sake!

The distinct treading up the stairs was somehow intrudingly distinct just today.

Had everyone arranged a meeting with one of them this very hour?

Only Lyana.

“Sorry, have you seen Kitthix? He was here just a minute ago – I mean not literally here but around the tower. I thought he might have gone exploring again.”

“No!” Jaina and Sylvanas almost shouted in unison. “We have not.”

“Can you tell him to come to the town square if you do? But to use the roofs. I don’t think the streets are safe for spiders yet and people can be so squeamish sometimes.”

“Yes Lyana, I assure you we will tell Kitthix but now we have a web of our own to weave and must get back to it at once.” Sylvanas explained with palpable effort. “We were right in the middle of a thing.”

“Oh, that is nice. That you’re webbing. I’ll tell Kitthix when I find him.”

“The coast is clear.” The dark ranger cast a look around them. “Even if the coast is further ahead. Why do you say that the coast is clear when you’re on land?”

“Because you habitually take all seaward expressions with you on your inland expeditions to show that you are a real sailor and not one of the green landlubbers of course.” Jaina put her nose high in the air, and almost tripped as a result when they waded through a particularly wide snow drift.

“I am pleased to announce today not one but two promotions most well deserved.” Sylvanas continued. “First, we will reinstitute a Lordaeronian office that held the highest honour.”

It held the highest honour. That was completely correct as far as Jaina’s knowledge of the realm’s civic matters went. That did also imply but not necessarily mean that said office would hold the same today.

If that particular nuance had not been every bit deliberate from the Banshee Queen she would be a murloc. Jaina had to bite her lip to keep her expression in check.

“I hereby appoint…” Sylvanas continued after her dramatic pause. “…Varimathras to the position of Lord Privy Seal!”

“Would it interest My Lady to know that the Forsaken delegation has joined the Horde and are painting themselves green as we speak, that the Thieving Gull has seceded from Theramore as a sovereign state for which half the docks have declared, and that there are signs of a waking volcano in the Dustswallow Marsh?”

Jaina sat up so fast her vision blurred.

“Wha-wha-what?”

“Hm? Oh, I was just asking hypothetically, in case any of that should ever happen and you would like to be notified, My Lady. Glad it got your attention. On the topic of more immediate matters, are you aware that you called for a morning council session which is due to begin within the hour?”

“Why did I do that?!”

“Don’t look at me, My Lady. It strikes me as an unconventional time to convene but I am sure you had your reasons.”

“I just…just…thought it would be good to check with everybody that nothing needed checking…doing. Oh Tides, I’m done for…”

“Then at least that is one item that is done and does not need doing, My Lady.”

“You are enjoying this, Pained! You never call me ‘My Lady’ this much otherwise –”

Big big WIP (again) My take on their looks, based on this fic I'm reading: https://archiveofourown.org/works/40261533/chapters/100845762 by Maltacus. It's a great one seriously give it a read! I will make normal scenes too, as soon as I set up the IK rig and Sylvanas's model. Too many ideas with them and too little time T-T So far I have 14 distinct rangers, plus my OC whom I will not put in any of the renders with them for lore reasons

Count on how many times I've mistaken Kitala for Kalira: 8

Anya, Clea, Kitala and Lyana. Everyone got hoods and masks (and the hair doesn't clip through it yay!)

And my OC. Ideas to make the rangers more distinct (mog recommendations, weapons) are most welcome.

Shall I pick canon armour, heavy armour, ceremonial armour or perhaps plot armour?

I'm asking your opinions

My dear mutuals and anyone coming across this, I'm working on a little scene, a short animation. The story is set right after the fall of Quel'Thalas. The question, which model would be best for Sylvanas? Her old ass model looks so weird next to the dark rangers so I used her shadowlands face with a belf wearing the new tmog but it feels off. Her shadowlands model is perfect, I cleaned up the scar on the texture and gave it a quick recolor. Should I change the pauldrons to the old skully one though? My dilemma is: She got resurrected. Now, my theory on necromantic magic is that, it does not change your armor into a gothic piece when you are brought back into life. My fanon idea is that in the beginning she had her old armor (maybe with a bit of faded colors) and later as she embraced being dead and leading the forsaken she integrated the whole skull and edgy look into the wardrobe. However, until she did so, she just wore the originaly elven armour. Same with bow, when did she start to use the skeletons on it?

So far I think the best is the elven armor with a recolor. Any thoughts?

Dark Ranger in the making 'v' I just realized I based the rangers' looks entirely on fanfictions and I don't actually know how they look like under the hood. Until someone corrects me, Anya and Velonara will be blonde ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Also ik there are better mogs now, but I wanted that old school feel, the ones that they wear in silverpine forest. Gonna make a render related to a fic that's set right after the fall of Quel'Thalas and my take on the lore is that they haven't embraced the skull themed armors yet.
