SNEAK PEEK #2: [A] DEVEREUX.

So I have a huge case of writers block right now. I was wondering if you had any advice? Like what do you do when you have writers block?

Honestly, I say don't push it. I've learned two things from having writer's block.

All those articles and folks saying "go do prompts" or "focus your mind" bruh no. Like if that works for you then great, I'm happy but I have not met one person who said it has and I really feel like that article advice is "babies first writer's block." Sorry, rant mode deactivated.

Pushing your mind to fight the writer's block just makes it last even longer.

My best advice is to just be natural. If you feel the need to start writing then go for it and if your brain falls out of it, even if it's a sentence in then let it. Play games, watch movies, read books, etc that may give you nice and fresh ideas. Experiment, do something that you've never done. Write poetry or do creative nonfiction. But don't sit there and pressure yourself into trying to beat it.

Ohhh who from the superstition gang would be the biggest prankster? I can only imagine it would lead to a lot of hell in that household

Bradley. Not even hard to figure out. He wouldn't have a stop button but would be complaining about everyone else. He'd piss so many people off. I forget what tv show, I think it was Spencer from iCarly but that one time they started a prank war and he was begging for them not to do it cos he was the prank master with no chill.

But yea that's Bradley.

Chanara would do one or two, more on accident but she'd get that sensible chuckle in. Amari just wouldn't at all, but she'd fall for every prank. Chris would be in it until they get him really good and then he's out. Rahim finds it childish and just refuses. Zillah has no idea what he's doing but my god he's doing it well. And Syd obviously would be in for a while because of pride and chaos.

After everything that happened, Syd came back from hell, Roe came back from purgatory and then after heavy stuff happenings... Finally! they're together again and the first thing that came to my mind or rather what my Roe would do is to have prank wars with Syd(⁠◕⁠ᴗ⁠◕⁠✿⁠)

I was thinking what kind of pranks he would do considering my Roe's personality leans towards daring, stubbornness, and of course comical lol but then again... I don't really need to overthink it causee I bet Syd wouldn't even let him continue his schemes(⁠ ⁠╹⁠▽⁠╹⁠ ⁠)

I think their love language is Physical Abu– TOUCH! no but that doesn't sound right, and Words of Argumentation? Altercation?? OH was it Affirmation??? But that doesn't sound right either (⁠ಠ⁠_⁠ಠ⁠)⁠>⁠⌐⁠■⁠-⁠■

I am dying at that. Words of Argumentation. Omfg, if you see that in story used by someone like Chris then hey, let me have it because 10/10, I love it.

Also because I adore when it happens, I just realized Sydero and your Roe have that whole "opposite appearance" thing going on. Love when partners got that going on.

Also I'm now trying to figure out what prank wars would look in that house and I'm terrified for all of them.

A little scenario I thought up, what would Syd and Rahim's reactions be if Roe knew arabic? Very fluently too Lemme set the scene: Roe is walking and stubs their toe on a table or something, and they yell out "IBNAL KHARA" (son of a piece of shit). How would the two react? Would they start joking around or having their own convos in arabic or throw around arabic slang? (I speak arabic! And I like thinking these things up cuz it's honestly really funny - also hope the superstition rewrite is going well!!)

Oooo. I can 100% say with a doubt that Rahim would be so tickled and impressed. Not only because he rarely ever gets to speak his native language but also because of just his appreciation for languages and those who are bilingual. He'd switch over so quick after learning that about Roe. Like his face lighting up immediately when Roe says something.

Sydero will be impressed but she's not really fluent in it anymore. Fluent enough to understand and still hold a conversation but there would be many things that trip her up. She probably wouldn't actually switch over or entertain it. But then I think a best friend Roe could definitely get her to throw out phrases here and there and entice her into having conversations.

I do have to wonder where the F is Zillah getting the money from to spend on all that expensive stuff he wears... I can't see Rahim giving him any money since he hates the guy, so I'll choose to believe everytime Zillah wants to buy something new, he begs Bradley for money 💀

He knows faeries and so he just goes to them to get glamoured money.

This is not canon, but it tickles me to imagine Zillah disappearing every now and again and just coming back with a lot of fucking money and no explanation as to where it came from. It is the topic of conversation for many a dinners.

Superstition ROs' reactions to being called "very cute/adorable" by Roe in a genuine way? :3c

Zillah: "I think there are better words to describe what I am. Beautiful. Majestic. A handsome beast. Cute and adorable are for kids."

Rahim: "Yea, yea." *doing a horrible job of hiding the blush slowly encroaching onto his face and ignoring a now teasing Roe*

Amari: *blushing* "I know."

Chanara: "I must have something on my face?" *she is literally now trying to figure out why you just randomly called her that and is checking her teeth, hair, face, mannerisms. All of it.*

How would Zillah feel if Roe suggested that they makeup and dress him in drag? Wait, I don't think he even knows what drag is, but as long as Roe says he would look, without a shadow of a doubt, FABULOUS, would he be up for it? Even though I don't think he could stand up in high heels lol

So, this is interesting because I'd say Zillah would be into light drag. Is that a thing? But the drag queens that are on TV is too much for Zillah as Zillah doesn't like the idea of transforming into an entirely new person. He wants his natural beauty to be on full display with makeup and clothes just more so just accentuating what he already has.

And yes, Zillah could work a pair of high heels. Do not do my man like that. Natural talent right there.

I have mixed feelings about Zillah being romanceable in season 1

1) all I feel during season 1 to half of season 2 is PURE HATE, RAGE for him

2) Every time he shows up I threaten to kill him or attack him in some way

Now that I think about it, I have no idea why I started his romance route (Oh, actually I do. He said he liked getting beat up by beautiful people, and then a little switch clicked in my mind "hey, maybe interacting with this thing doesn't always have to be unbearable, it can maybe even be enjoyable...")

Now every time I hear Criminal by Britney Spears I think of him "All reason aside I just can't deny, I love that guy"

Roe can still... threaten him in season 1, right...? ahem- ignore that part

My god this sounded like a friend of mine lmfao. You can all thank her for having the more aggressive/fuck you/I hate you route that Zillah has now.

His season 1 romance isn't really a romance. It's more of a "you have shown some kind of interest for the incessant shadow inside your head" so therefore he treats you differently than someone who is more so ignoring him.

But yes, I'm not removing Roe threatening him/hoping he vanishes/etc. from season one. I would never.

Oh! AHHHHHHH, thank you so much! I've been drawing them mainly for myself (because I know that the designs are WILDLY different from the official face claims lol)
