My case manager gave me a list of options for rental/utility assistance and for one reason or another I can't use any of the options. I don't attend that church or have any connections to it. I don't live in that zip code. I'm not a veteran. I am trying to avoid an eviction notice instead of already having received one. I have to just hope and pray I have enough money at the end of the month for my power bill and at the beginning of next month for my rent. Yippee I love being alive lmaooo
If you want to try to contribute to a poor punk's funds, my venmo is @ ezrabillips
Share if you can please, I'm trying my best to scrape everything I can together.

“Women don’t have rights in Iran, they are homophobic in Iran!”
A black woman’s dying body was used to incubate a fetus because the state said so and the Supreme Court, regurgitating debunked talking points, ruled that trans kids could be denied gender affirming care that is proven to save lives. Does that justify a foreign power bombing New Jersey indiscriminately? Like some of y’all don’t give a fuck about LGBTQ Iranians or women in that country because I never saw a people get free through just having their shit blown up

And I just fundamentally don't believe that no one would ever want to do anything productive if not forced under the threat of homelessness and starvation. I believe that if physically and mentally able, most people would want to do things to help out their loved ones and support their community. I don't believe "laying in bed all day" is so fulfilling to the average person that that's all anyone would ever be doing if we didn't force a 40 hour work week on people under the threat of not having your basic needs met. I think most people have an inherent drive to learn and create and contribute and connect and help each other out. I see it everywhere, even in this hell world.

I just saw someone on here saying "a lot of leftists have this weird idea that AOC is just pretending to be progressive to play 4D chess and gain power" and like. It's not 4D chess. This is how American politics is designed. It's about money lining pockets. It's not that she's pretending to be progressive for the accruement of future power or something; the power is happening here and now already. Politicians may say one thing, but what they really care about will be what/who is lining their pockets. Be so fr rn? 😭

One of my friends, originally from Puerto Rico, now a citizen of the US, said this to me: I know what you mean, for the longest I just wanted to get up and leave the us and try my luck else where but honestly, I think I would rather stay and help. I love the US and I wanna be part of it.
Then described as the guys playing the violin on the Titanic. And honestly. Yeah.
That is what we are atp but shit. I gotta play on
Living in the United States fucking sucks!! But I can't leave! I can barely afford to live inside this country, let alone scrape money together to leave this country. The idea of 'escaping' as an option... Isn't an option for me. So, if a place is "shitty", but has good ppl in it, should those ppl just feel like there is no choice but to leave? It's the same conversation about the North vs South. There are progressive folks living in the south! There are queer ppl! There are conservatives too, yeah. There are anarchists. There are immigrants. There are so many different kinds of ppl in the south. Should the good ppl leave the shitty places or should the places not be shitty? Why is there this idea that some places should just be shitty or something. I love the south. There's a lot of things I hate about the south too. But if I can't leave, shouldn't I try to make living here as bearable as possible for myself and the ppl around me? Shouldn't I try to make things better? Shouldn't the ppl who can't afford to leave so-called shitty places enjoy a good quality of life too? These people, my neighbors here in the south, deserve to be able to see the doctor too. They deserve to feed their kids too. In my state so many of us are on Medicaid and food stamps and we're at the risk of losing it. If I lose my food stamps, I'm scared of how I'm going to eat. I struggle to eat with food banks + food stamps. All we have is each other. We can't write off some of our people. We cannot let ourselves be divided. We have to find common ground. For a lot of us, that's class. The bottom vs the top rn. Pls. We have to resist the idea that this is forever. Other ways will come. We have to make the path for them. We have to make life here, for those of us who can't leave, for those who still have a life here that they want to build on, for those who want their country back, for everyone, better. Idk how else to say it. All we have is each other.

How to survive in the apocalypse, non exhaustive list-
Improve the lives of ourselves+
Others+
Combat a fascist police state
Many scattered sources, just my thoughts;
Share/spread info (posts, articles, zines, paste-ups, posters, stickers, etc). Run across fascist posters/sticker? Safely take it down or cover it up with something.
Utilize community gardens, food banks, forage/find out what local edible plants are around/educate yourself on foraging, grow your own food if you can, cook meals/share food, etc.
Turn to diy hrt if needed/wanted; share resources.
Pick from trash/dumpster/the curb, thrift, be "thrifty."
Attend protests (no phone + n95 mask).
Get involved in local level politics.
Get in the way of ICE agents; report their presence. Be willing to get arrested.
Reduce, reuse and recycle. Try to lower your waste if possible. Compost. Upcylce. Reuse plastic, glass. Make your own clothes. Etc.
Rest/use your spoons wisely.
Read, educate yourself and others. Buy used books. Shared PDFs. Make and share zines. Do you have a local "give a book, get a book" sitch?
Pick up litter.
Learn how to make stencils, how to graffiti.
Do home repairs yourself if possible. Learn how to diy as much as you can (opting out of capitalism as much as possible); but also know when to turn to your community. We are social creatures, too. All we have is each other.
Pirate as much as possible. Support physical media. Support local businesses. Cancel subscriptions.
Look into guerilla gardening; seed bombing.
Be kind- give directions, check on ppl, smile at ppl, help ppl, hold the door, ask if they're ok.
Intervene when needed- learn healthy bystander intervention
Fallingfruit.com
https://fallingfruit.com
Volunteer- library, animal shelter, humane society, soup kitchen, etc.
Help our neighbors if they need + when we can.
Walk + use public transport as much as you can.
Go to the library- books, movies, CDs, computers, printers, WAY MORE!
Support local artists/music shows.
Be as unmarketable as possible- buy less online + decoy emails + delete permissions from apps + privacy settings, etc.
Use cash, good for small businesses.
Give what we can- time? Money? Skills? Space? Stuff? What will make the most impact?
Talk about your wage.
Think about where your money goes/how it flows/whose hands it goes into.
Create art. Do it at work if you can get away with it.
Put yr body outside.
Learn good conflict resolution + interpersonal skills where you can!!
When you feel scared about resources, list which ones you have and which ones you need and move accordingly.
Listen to others.
Teach a skill for free.
Boycott.
Civil disobedience! (;
Make systems obsolete by opting out as much as you can.
Nap
Cry
Scream
Feel + express your emotions
Make space for joy, too
Hug
Breathe
If you don't have hope, have spite.
This is a list that I'm keeping and adding to, in an effort to remind myself I am not powerless, I have many actions I can take. We must live.

Sewing is a very practical skill to learn, but if you don’t have anyone to teach you, the sheer volume of techniques out there can make getting started overwhelming. This is a good step-by-step guide to getting started.
