New PNP pathways for skilled immigrants in Saskatchewan
On August 30, the Saskatchewan government announced the launch of two new Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) pathways for newcomers working in agriculture and health care under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP).

"New provincial immigration pathways and streamlining our credential recognition process will help employers in Saskatchewan acquire the workforce needed to grow their businesses," He stated, referring to the widespread reports of a labor shortage.

-> Attest to their intention to work and live in Saskatchewan, the Health Talent Pathway seeks to support the province's Health Human Resources (HHR) action plan.

Who is qualified for new PNP Pathways?
Talent Stream: Agriculture
Applicants for this stream must fulfill the following minimum requirements for eligibility: For instance, the necessity of:
Maintain a minimum of a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4 language score. Some businesses or regulators can request scores higher than CLB 4.
Own a higher education degree or have finished secondary school, or high school.
Possess six months (780 hours) of full-time (30+ hours per week) work experience in the position with the employer who has given the candidate a job approval letter, or at least one year of full-time work experience in the previous three years (in their planned occupation). In either scenario, the work experience does not have to be consecutive
Attest to their intent to work and reside in Saskatchewan.
Obtain an offer for a full-time, permanent position in Saskatchewan's agricultural industry.
For candidates to provide proof of work, a valid SINP Job Approval Letter is required. This is provided to them by their employer, who to get it must register with the SINP.
Talent Stream: Health
Depending on whether the individual has an application in the federal Express Entry application pool, different requirements apply for this option. Certain conditions apply to both subcategories.
Being qualified to obtain a license in Saskatchewan
Possessing post-secondary education relevant to the job offer (such as a bachelor's or master's degree, a three-year degree from a university or college, or a diploma requiring two years of study at a trade or technical school)
Certifying that they want to live and work in Saskatchewan
Moreover, candidates who are not eligible for Express Entry must have a minimum CLB 5 in both English and/or French.

Some businesses or regulators can request scores higher than CLB 5. They also need to fulfill the following criteria for work experience:
If you are applying from Saskatchewan:
Currently employed in Saskatchewan, and have completed six months (780 hours) of full-time work experience (more than thirty hours per week) with the company that furnished the letter of job approval.
In either scenario, the work experience does not have to be consecutive
They must have at least one year of work experience in their occupation within the last five years if they have not been employed full-time by their sponsoring company for at least six months.
Applicants that have profiles in the application pool for Express Entry need to
Have a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 or above in English and/or French.
Have a valid Express Entry Profile Number and Job Seeker Code.
Fulfill the following criteria for work experience:
For applicants originating from within or beyond Canada: one year's worth of relevant, highly competent work experience within the last five years in the desired, qualified field.
Concerning the SINP
Through the SINP, Saskatchewan accepted 7,350 newcomers in 2023. In 2024, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada allotted 8,000 nominations to Saskatchewan. By the end of 2025, the province anticipates around 20,000 new arrivals (when the allocation is planned to jump to 8,500).

The next round of invitations for the PGP will be sent to candidates from the 2020 intake, marking the fourth consecutive year of this approach. Invitations, issued via email starting May 21st, will be sent over two weeks. Sponsors should monitor their emails regularly.
Steps to PR through PGP:
The PGP supports family reunification, allowing Canadian citizens and residents to sponsor their parents or grandparents for PR.
-> Ensure Eligibility: Sponsors must live in Canada, meet financial requirements, and commit to supporting their parents/grandparents for 20 years (10 years in Quebec).
-> Submit Interest to Sponsor Form: Only those who submitted this form in 2020 and haven't been invited in 2021, 2022, or 2023 are eligible.
-> Check for Invitation: Monitor the email used in the form for an invitation starting May 21st.
-> Submit Application: After receiving an ITA, complete the application via the Permanent Residence Portal by the deadline.
