Canada had a Nazi collaborator invited to sit in on, and honoured in, our House of Commons by the Speaker of the House.
If you don't know how Canada's government works, our House of Commons is where all 338 Members of Parliament (MP's) gather to discuss proposed bills, argue specifics, and vote on passing those bills. It's where our political, economical, and social decisions get made into law. It's kind of the last place you want a Nazi collaborating piece of shit being invited into.
Reasonably, people are pissed, none more than the Jewish community. Yom Kippur is a high holiday of remembrance for the Jewish, and just days after it, having this happen is just ... I want to say un-fucking-forgiveable but that's not a statement that cuts deep enough. I'm not just upset, I'm beyond enraged. Giving these people, Nazi's, any fucking recognition, even on accident, is appalling.
It's for damn good reason that there is now a call for the Deschênes Commission's Report conducted around the 1980's to be declassified and made public. This report was the results on an inquiry on the War Criminals and Nazi collaborators allowed into Canada post WWII. The people, especially our Jewish residents, deserve to know what activities these people were up to.
I'm fully on board with this myself. Why? Well if you can't tell, it's a bit fucking personal. No, a lot fucking personal. Nazi's have shown up to anti-transgender rallies, we've seen Nazi's show up to the truckers rally that happened during COVID. They've openly waved their flag in public. Jewish people, if you happen to pay any attention at all to their online presence and communities, have expressed an increasing fear of how unsafe public life is becoming for them. There is a very real fear of a repeat of events, which is why we fucking cannot give anyone with previous history with the Nazi party the time of day.
The moment a tiny piece of legitimacy is given, and it was given this time with a standing applause, these Nazi bastards will push for more. They will try for more. It's how these bastards work. They'll appropriate anything to give themselves shreds of legitimacy. Canada needs to make a clear fucking point that we do not support them in any way.
Part II of the Deschêntes Commission's report needs to be made public. People deserve to know. The Jewish community deserves to know.
And if it isn't apparent: fuck Nazi's and everything they stand for. Fuck fascists too. Stay the fuck off my blog if you're either. You're not welcome here.
Jewish side of tumblr: if I fuck something up about you or your history, please correct me. Your faith is one of the few I respect in this world.

In case you haven't heard...
And tl;dr - it's a zip file. It's a telegraph-era zip file, a way to compress weather data so it sends faster and cheaper. You can only unzip it if you have the key, which Wayne Chan found by dating the style of the dress where it was found.
Tumblr media
It's even got a flipped bit in it which is unreadable - by which I mean someone read the code key wrong and sent a typo.
Now, we still don't know why someone stuffed a zipped weather report in a dress, but because someone did, now you know we've been compressing digital information since before your grandparents were born. And it used to look way cooler! 😁

So a guy I'm friends with sent me this video as an example of islamophobia from the "woke crowd". After watching it I'm really wondering what is NOT outstandingly reasonable about what the teacher says to a Muslim student who said that he would refuse to attend a school Pride event. The teacher recognises the student's right to a choice, yet still criticises it from the standpoint of inclusion. How is this an example of oppression? Why are some Muslims in Canada so uncomfortable with this?

documentation day 2 (part one): i can’t breathe when i go outside. the only thing you can smell is smoke. it’s like you’re standing right next to a campfire. the sky is white again and there is an orange haze over everything. there’s a severe air quality warning. there are over 20 new wildfires in my province now. no one is saying anything, still.
update (8:10am): there are now thunderstorms in the forecast for my city later today.
update (3:57pm): the thunderstorm just started. five minutes ago ash wouldn’t stop falling from the sky. the lightning is terrifying because that’s what could start the fires near us. the storm is insane. the rain came to a dead stop and then the thunder happened. it’s extremely loud.

Air defence system promised by Canada one year ago still not delivered to Kyiv
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that delivering air defence systems to the battlefield is the top priority during the new year. However, Canada’s promise to donate $406 million for the missile defence system had not yet been fulfilled, according to the Canadian CTV channel.
Ottawa announced plans to donate the surface-to-air missile defence system, known as NASAMS, on January 10, 2023. However, almost a year later, one of the two companies involved in the deal stated that it did not have a contract to donate the system.
Under the plan, Canada was to pay the US government the full cost of the system, while the US was to ship it to Ukraine.
The US Department of Defence has signed a $1.2 billion contract with Raytheon to deliver NASAMS systems destined for Ukraine in November 2022. The public notice for this contract states that the expected completion date is November 2025.

In Canadian News (granted I'm a but late, as this happened March 8th): Steadfast support of the trans community emerges at a Saskatoon city council discussion!
Tumblr media
I'll be dropping a few photo's from the article and dropping the link at the end. But honestly, Saskatoon's citizens came in HARD with the support. Basically, to recap, a "discussion" was brought up around an unsubstantiated claim of an "individual with male genetalia" being spotted in the Shaw Centre womens changing room. And the turnout of people came armed with facts, knowledge, and the typical Canadian "politely, fuck this" mentality.
Tumblr media
And damn if it wasn't beautiful to hear people stand up in defence. The line alone:
"Transgender people are victims of a society hostile to their very existence."
We're not the only ones this society is hostile to the existence of, but recognition of transgender people is a start.

Full article:
I left out one fire of a statement by Sarah Smokeyday because I really want you to read the article in full.
