3 years ago I sat in this bakery in El Dorado, Arkansas while 2 women I still admire greatly told me the 1 thing I needed to hear most. That discussion as an intern felt embarrassing and was difficult to hear, but I thanked them for the feedback and thought long and hard about what was said. It changed the way I view connecting with the people around me. Sitting here looking back, no longer an intern but part of the group, I'm incredibly grateful they didn't write me off as an annoying failure.
