Betty Boop and the funny trumpet guys

these were drawn by grim natwick who animated on the fleischer cartoons from 1930-1931
fleischer was always more surreal, exciting, runchy, edgy than it's peers at least before the hays code

grim designed and created betty and also did the cutest drawings of her especially in this cartoon

much more flexible and free than later one
grim draws his characters as these weird little vile bendy surreal creatures and i like that! it added even favour more to the fleischer cartoons he worked on

Quick sketches since I've had the urge to draw all day but I also have classes that I need to pay attention to lol

I've also never drawn Choso before, so forgive what he looks like lmao
Also, small info dump about horns and spikes since I think a lot and have words to say lol
Horns are, a) always on the head, and b) always attached/grow out of the skull. They themselves are bone
Spikes (like the ones in Yuuji's back) are NOT attached to any part of the skeleton. They're attached to the body via skin, tissue, cartilage, muscle, etc, but not to bones directly
Yuuji ripping his horn out straight up left a hole in his skull for a little bit. He's lucky he can heal wounds like that
#yuuji's spikes are slightly flexable#which is nice so he can lay on his back comfortably lol#jjk#jjk fanart#jjk au#fanart#fushiguro megumi#megumi fushiguro#angel megumi fushiguro#itadori yuuji#yuji itadori#demon yuuji itadori#itafushi#itafushi fanart#itafushi au#jjk choso#hes there too i forgot for a second

I've seen the point made several times that Katniss seems to sometimes withhold information from her narration she would want to keep privete. Not only do I think that is VERY true it makes so much sense.
The series is just a run on tale of Katniss and her life being used to further others goals until it destroys most of her. To me her recounting this story and saving some details for herself...that makes sense. Her not wanting to talk or explore much about Peetas personal life and family makes sense. Her not telling us her childrens names makes sense. The details of her and Peeta growing back together makes sense. ALL that kind of stuff that, with all the other details she puts elsewhere make us wonder why she didn't mention any of this?
It almost show to us how important they MIGHT have been because she keeps it from us when we know how detailed she can be. Katniss decides to keep this for herself.
#That said: I will always support anything perhapes detailing GBT in greater depth. AND anything fleshing out Peetas life.#I do think it's sweet though. Katniss protects Peeta even in her narration by not telling us all this stuff#AND her life somewhat by not saying really what she does after getting back to living or where she/her and Peeta live. Like yes Collins#is vauge to allow readers their own flexable narrative at the end. But it also fits that Katniss wouldn't tell us everything.#Everlark#Katniss Everdeen#Peeta Mellark#The Hunger Games

i have this aikido book for some reason
ive never done aikido
until this book appeared in my house i didnt know aikido was a thing
long story short, the illustrations in it are awesome and fluid and have become my warm ups
which then turn into turtles (as you do)
#rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles#however they gotta be hella flexible to do a lot of these poses#which makes me think sans-battle shell don can pull them off#but not so much the others#so they all turn into donnie eventually#my sketchbook is full of donnie being a flexible little worm#its totally spelled flexable isnt it#just agree that heck cant spell to save their life#heck draws

i spent all yesterday making a semi-realistic slugcat base. i used sphinx cats as a reference, so they’re pretty cat like here
i imagine they hold themselves different than an actual cat though, plus more robust shoulders for bipedal-ism
this is the survivor btw :) i think i’ll do monk next
#pinemartart#rain world#rain world downpour#rw downpour#slugcat#rw survivor#rain world survivor#I SWEAR I'LL FINISH MY OTHER DRAWINGS I JUST. um. looks at my 21 hours in terraria this past week#i've been busy ahaha#also i can't draw everyday i think my arm would deadass fall off#or even every other day for that matter#btw cat legs are kind of fucked up looking#does anyone want my design traits for slugcats . i think about them and how they work#like they probably have some sort of throat pouch to hold things#plus they have 3 digits . which is interesting#they probably have a stiffer spine in comparison to actual cats. as it helps with being bipedal. i imagine they're still decently flexible#though since they can turn around in tunnels#they do have a collarbone . cats have like almost none. but slugcats have more. not as much as we do though#and they most likely have 6 breasts as they're mammals to me. they're cats#there is lots of loose skin around their limbs too btw. for flexability#helps them stretch . and cats too#cats have so much loose skin. and their skin is so thin#i imagine slugcats would have thicker skin#also their tail is pretty big compared to other things. so i imagine they use it for fat reserves and storage. like for hibernation#also i have thoughts about gourmond so i think i'll do them after monk#making a whole ass essay in here

The hisuian language is so cool! What was your process for making a conlang? It’s pretty interesting.
step 1: What am I making the language for?
step 2: What do I want the language to sound/feel like?
step 3: build phonology (sound library) based of desired sound/feel/background as well as establishing basic phonotactics (how the sounds work with each other)
step 4: establish basic grammar and syntax rules (word order, heading, tonals or not, language type (aggulgantive, fusional, synthetic etc), conjugations, and many more)
step 5: formulate an orthography (writing system)
step 6: mash sounds together to make words, derive, reference, build out the dictionary
step 7: number system
step 8: do step 6 till you have a full dictionary
#ask raisans#conlang#this is very rough and highly flexable in terms of order but this is how I usually work on languages#all very feel based since i make art langs instead of something like IALs or logic langs#usually im making a language for a culture and I like having many culture specific words in mine as well
