Best Free Digital Wardrobe and Outfit Planner Apps 2025
Best Free Digital Wardrobe and Outfit Planner Apps 2025
3 minute read
These are my picks for the best outfit planner and wardrobe apps after trying over a dozen. I only used free to download apps and features. Each of these apps allow you to create a digital representation of your closet for outfit planning, style inspiration, wardrobe organization and more.
Top 3 wardrobe and outfit planning apps
Acloset
Fits
Style DNA
The reasons you’re looking to use one (or multiple) of these may be different from mine so here’s what I looked for.
Reasons to use wardrobe apps
Pick what to wear
Plan outfits
Create capsule wardrobes
Create capsule wardrobe outfits
Get style inspiration
Find what looks good on you
Is it possible to do these things with the features they offer?

Acloset
There’s an outfit creator that lets you swipe to see different combinations of your clothes. It’s fun to look at the various choices. They just released Smart Detector which lets you add clothes to your closet by taking a photo of yourself. The AI then detects each item of clothing. This is an easy way to build your digital closet if you don’t want to take individual pictures of items.
Acloset offers multiple ways to add clothes: use Smart Detector, take individual pictures, use any picture you find online, or search their library.
You can make capsules by creating what they call closets but there’s currently no way to create capsule wardrobe outfits from a closet. A workaround is to make a Packing list and then make outfits for each day from there.
Fits
Fits lets you swipe through different outfit ideas with their Dressing Room, try on clothes to see how they would look on you with Virtual Try On, and make capsules and capsule outfits with their Collections tool.
It’s easiest to make your digital closet using Fits. Searching in the app for clothes brings back many relevant items. If you take your own pictures, Fits erases the background and lets you fine-tune the results nicely. This makes your wardrobe look neat and tidy therefore making creating Polyvore like collages more beautiful.
Style DNA
After answering questions such as your body type and taking a photo of yourself, you receive your Style Formula which includes your Color Type (what colors look good on you) and Style Type (what are your best prints and fabrics) with clear and detailed descriptions.
The app has a pretty aesthetic which makes wardrobe organization and outfit planning easier and more pleasant. Style DNA has an AI Stylist that tailors chat responses according to your Style Formula and when you go shopping, simply scan an item to find out whether it suits you or not. You essentially have your own personal stylist on your phone.
Honorable Mention
Cladwell
Cladwell is unique because they focus on capsule wardrobes. What Cladwell has that no other app has, which is the main reason I use it, is their AI generates outfit recommendations from the capsules that you’ve created. This means once you have created a capsule Cladwell does the work for you of pairing items into outfits. Since this is a review of free offerings, Cladwell’s upgraded features are not part of this evaluation.
