My first mentor was my parents. They taught how to be a better person and to be humble. When we had our first internet in my college days, I got this ad by Tai Lopez and I dont know this guy but he taught me that reading is important. I dislike reading if its not about history 😂 it bores me alot. Now that Im a bit older, I learned that reading is really important since you do not have the luxury of hiring expensive mentors. Books are the cheaper version of getting mentored by them. Jim Rohn taught me to develop myself as a valuable person. Anneli Hansson opened my world to understanding the deeper side of Brand Strategy. Simon Sinek inspired me to find my Why. Chris Do showed me that design is more than just making things look pretty. Being a designer is already hard and its harder when your clients dont appreciate your work. As a designer for quite some time now, I've found out that there is a way to increase your approval rate drastically by using mockups. Before I just present my design with white and black background, flat and in 2D design. Whenever they reject my design I get furious and ask why? I've worked for almost 16 -24 hours for it. Today its no longer the case as I learned through experience the hard way. I taught mysel how to curate appropriate mockups and how to create if I cant find one. Also with the help of digitalization, its easier to find tutorials and free mockups online. Anways, Im happy that Im finally done with my carousel. It took me so long going back and forth with sketches.
