There were so many highs and so many lows, but all that has led me to where I am today! My First

Another day it was. Another day it will be. I am grateful for the one that was and the one that is to come.

This wasn't always the case.As a child I was taught to be grateful for life, as many of you were, but this teaching, along with many others, needed more meaning for it to hold in my life as I grew older.

"Why should I be grateful? I am alive, sure, but why?" I would ask myself. The nature of days seemed repetitive and to be grateful for each and every one of them sounded like a lot of work.

"You could've woken up ill" or "something bad could have happened" but it didn't. Scare tactics began to annoy me. It sounded weak. Did we subconsciously beg God for life and safety in our sleep that we should wake up and immediately thank the Most High for nothing 'bad' happening?

To define good as absence of bad is just false and anyone who approaches gratitude with that mentality is limiting the possible realities he or she can experience. I understand that now.

How long did it take me to do so? Was this my first existential crisis? What's my take on gratitude now?

Happy Sunday #zntartsfamily I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to some of my new followers. And thank you for joining me on this #artistlife journey So a few things about me I am multifaceted artist meaning I have many art practices. That can look like painting, illustration, jewelry design, performance and whatever I desire to express my creativity in a given moment. And of course #facepainting 🤩 I am an educator meaning I have taught art in many settings. I hold a degree in early education and in fine arts. I am also a healing engagement practitioner and certified in trauma informed outreach. Before I became an artist I worked in travel industry and I still love to travel ✈️ when I can. One of my mantras is “Art from the heart” ❤️ because I believe art is a tool for healing and connection. Before I became ZNT Arts which is an abbreviation of my name is Zahirah Nur Truth.
