Hey everyone! It's been almost a week since applications closed, so we thought it might be nice for a little update post. We are progressing through the application process steadily. Wowie, what a turnout! The mod team here at Master of Zinejitzu would like to thank y’all for a whopping 69 (haha nice) applications (and here we thought we wouldn’t get enough)! We are sincerely very grateful that so many people wanted to show up and contribute to this project. However, since we have far more applicants then we have spots open, unfortunately not everyone who applied will be able to participate. There’s always next time though! We have several other zine ideas in the works so keep an eye out for the next project.

So, what’s next? Well over the next two weeks (July 23rd-August 4th, 2025), our mod team will be hard at work sorting through and finalizing our contributor selections. Barring no unforeseen events, acceptance/rejection letters will be going out on August 5th. Contributors can expect to see these in their email inbox/discord DM’s (along with an invitation to our discord server). However, this is a busy time for many members of our mod team, so apologies in advance for any delays.

Thank you for the ask! Garmadon/Clouse, Acronix/Borg and Dareth/Ronin are allowed, as we’re counting the Sensei, previous elemental masters, and Dareth when we say “ninja”.

Is it allowed to edit our responses on the form after it has already been submitted?

Yes, you may edit your responses after sending them in up until the final deadline!

If you end up getting assigned something wrong due to us not checking correctly again, tell us as fast as possible so that we can fix our mistake.

We are expecting 1’000 words (or, rather, under that number) for the writing pieces— we also mention this in our FAQ

Are work in progress drives allowed as an example of work?

As long as we can gage your skill from the work you submit, yes!

• Please keep any files for example pieces of writing or art accessible from the start. If it is not accessible we will not consider the application.

• Do not submit multiple applications This is to make sure the form is as neat as it can be for the team looking through it. If you aren't certain you put in an application, contact the mod team by dm here.

• If you are planning to apply with a rarepair ship, it is highly recommended you apply with someone else who will work with you, or have non-rairpair backups

Mod intro round 5 (Keerthy)

Hi hii!! I’m Krys/Keerthy, and I’m in charge of Zine Security! I’ll be verifying each piece to make sure they haven’t had any association with generative AI, and I’ll also be scanning and protecting the pieces against potential AI scraping.

Some other stuff to know about me is that I’m a HUUUUUGE Pokémon & Mario nerd. You’re better off not mentioning those fandoms in front of me unless you’re ready for my infodumps. I’m also very normal about music. Totally haven’t learned like 6 instruments and counting.

I’m excited to see all the applications so far!

could you share a list of what shipps ARE allowed? going by the rules established, it seems like the amount of shipps that will be depicted is shorter than the ones that won't...

To reiterate: We ARE NOT allowing minor/adult ships, incest, or bestiality. Ships of a controversial nature are generally a case by case basis. If the ship makes the mod team uncomfortable, or we feel like including it would cause significant infighting. We are not allowing it.

It is kind of difficult to give a complete list of ships because there are a lot of characters and thus a lot of ships. But we will try to give an overview.

* Any canon ships

* Any ninja ships (minus those between Lloyd and another ninja), including poly ships up to 4 characters

* ships between the DR kids

* Rare pairs are fine BUT if you want to for sure get a rare pair it is highly recommended you sign up with someone

Like we said in the FAQ if you have any questions about a ship ask the mod team! We would also like to note we are asking people to give a list of ships they would be willing to do on the application itself.
