Young Arafinwë and his brother let the day come to a peaceful close outdoors for @morweneledhwen

Well, it's been a hot minute since I last drew Finarfin! And I don't think he ever left the WIP stage, so this is a first. What a shame! Thank god Morwen reminded me to give him some love again. Also, I've really grown to love Finarfin ever since I read Morwen's take on him. "All his sons" is basically canon to me at this point.

Thinking about these two spending a day or two out and about together really sparked my inspiration. Now that I think about it, I love imagining Nolofinwë as a closet adrenaline junkie. Climbing is such a mental game, of course Nolo would love it! And it just so happens to align perfectly with his brother's request to go searching for rare herbs and flowers.

The requested trope for this was transferring qi, so I imagined Arafinwë having the ability to channel light to some extent, using it to form a connection with another person for healing or relaxation like easing his brother's fatigue after an exhausting climb.

#Caranthir #my love #silmarillion #silm #the silmarillion #tolkien #and finally the quest of completing all 7 of them goes on [epic music in the background]#i had a hard time constructing a card for caranthir and i quit all my previous ideas and just drew something that felt right #resulting in a piece that isnt really what i wanted but i had soo much fun drawing him <3 #not much symbolism going on here but #i choose columbine on his mantle - as a symbol for grief and also self hatred as columbine stands for weakling #columbine is a loaded flower in christian symbolism - and as a parallel i feel like caranthir is quite religious #like staying true to customs and traditions and seeking help in prayers to Eru as a way to control his wild emotions #i have to stop here - this is a rabbithole 8'D

WIP below the cut

i dont know if anyone remembers but i started a series of Dragon Age inspired "tarot cards" for the sons of Feanor (my icon is a snippet of the card i did for Celegorm)

Guess who decided to finally get to these loose threads 8D I'm eager to finish the set one day but i struggled with the card for Caranthir. Mainly because he is one of my favorites and the huge pile of headcanons i have for him. Its difficult to transport any symbolism fitting for his canon character.

ANYWAY. Here is a very rough WIP of my boi

(any form of constructive criticism is welcome at this stage)

Also, somehow a WIP of Finrod turned out to be very DA-ish... guess he'll have a guest appearance in the series 8'D
