i have a friend who is soooo tanaka to me he dresses so gorpcore like standard outfit involves a windbreaker sunglasses and birkenstock clogs and he lives and dies by his arcteryx bucket hat. he has two piercings in one ear and one in the other and i helped him pick out a single silver snake shaped hoop so they’re mismatched even more now. he had an eyebrow slit for a while that made him even more intimidating like it’s giving delinquent. he regularly gets asked if he’s part of a gang when he’s in other countries he’s so scary looking but then we sit down at a bar and he orders a fruity little mai tai and we talk shit.

he flips people off like it’s his job and swears in every single sentence and will corndog anyone if the opportunity presents itself. he smokes fancy japanese cigarettes and blueberry mint camel crushes is absolutely Cracked at 8 ball pool when he’s drunk. he takes card games very seriously and also sports betting and he plays as donkey kong in smash bros. his instagram is full of blurry motion shots and straight faced like angry mug pictures but also $3 money spreads on a boat and goofy silly pics. he knows all the words to skeeyee by sexyy red and sings along LOUD whenever it comes on. he was a dedicated member of brat summer and listens to so much asap but also phoebe bridgers. so he fucks shit Up at karaoke

hanamaki takahiro big pet store fan. he doesn’t even have a pet he just likes to browse.

there’s no method to his perusal no formula he follows no particular order he checks things out in but there are spots he always hits. he says pet stores smell is his favorite smell and he walks in and feels at home issei goes “yes hiro of course hiro”.

the fish tanks are a Must they’re his favorite he stands and stares and taps the glass he tries to count the goldfish in the tank and makes up a number he says he’s gonna buy a betta fish every time he picks one and names it then puts it back before he leaves. he strolls down the aquarium aisle looking for the weirdest tank decor he can find he picks favorites sometimes and buys (or pockets) them as knickknacks they live on his dresser and manga shelf.

he spends a Long time in the small animal section he doesn’t really like the small rodents but tries to find them when they’re buried under the bedding and hidden in their houses it’s like a scavenger hunt. the birds are fun he likes watching them if he was an animal he’d probably be a yellow parakeet but issei calls him hanapippi points and goes “that’s u” so they have to move on fuck that guy. reptiles are fun hiro imitates the lizards like the jerky motions he sticks out his tongue at the snakes he says he wants a chameleon but lets be so real. he loves the giant colorful plastic hamster cages goofy asf he says that’s his dream house.

he’s bought dog treats and frosted cookies on a dare and eaten them he claims they’re not that bad and would do it again. he squeaks the dog toys and tosses the balls around he critiques the comfort of the dog beds and climbs into them for a “more authentic review” he’s been told more than once to “stop climbing on the shelves please” by employees he gets down immediately tells issei he has to try it. he makes collar tags sometimes writes funny things on them clips them to his friends bags as a prank. hiro thinks the cats are cute and sweet he thinks it’s funny when they smack each other he makes fun of their names etc. if he’s carrying a betta he covers the fish’s eyes in front of the cats he doesn’t want to take any risks.

anyway pet stores just wandering and browsing it’s like hunter gathering without the pressure aka takahiro’s forte. put the fish back he’s not ready to be a father he leaves content that he has responsibility for nothing except for himself.

fuck 12 i’ve decided that daichi sawamura is a firefighter. its so much better he’s big and strong and cares about people and definitely looks good in red and suga’s into it. he goes to an elementary school lets the kids play in the fire truck picks them up to put them in the cab they LOVE him. walking around the grocery store w uniform pants and a tshirt he’s buying bananas and uncrustables and reaching things on the top shelf for old ladies. that one tiktok abt the guy volunteering for firefighter training he gets picked up like he weighs nothing and is no longer 100% straight that is daichi he’s inflicting sexuality crises on the general population in that firefighting gear he’s a public servant and damn he’s serving.

seijoh bus to and from away games or whatever they’re going somewhere what’s going on

iwaizumi hajime right side aisle seat earbuds in eyes closed straight back against the seat. dont let it fool you he looks asleep he is never asleep he is always vigilant. there’s yelling and throwing shit around him probably he never acknowledges Any of it still as a statue but the Second anyone tries to mess with him prank him draw a mustache or whatever he opens one eye and Glares. he has a sixth sense he just knows he’s burning a hole through whoever he’s looking at they’re far too scared to try anything now. he’s bumping music he’s getting his head in the game but he Never lets his guard down. mr cool calm and collected slash always on his villain origin story arc. this is his default state.

oikawa tooru next to him by the window. he wants the seat cuz he wants to look outside as they’re driving he dreams of a dramatic movie moment gazing out the window as it rains and wistful music plays in the background but he can’t just sit there for longer than a minute nono nonooo he’s a busy man. he spends maybe 1/4 of the ride looking out the window/checking his social media/maintaining his composure and the rest of the time he’s head over the back/front of the seat or laying across hajime (or stealing one of his earbuds) to join a conversation across the aisle. he Insists on window seat but just Has to interact with people throughout the entire bus he makes his inconvenient location everyone else’s problem it’s kinda great. announcement for the team he kneels on his seat bc standing is a little too unsafe he projects his voice a little louder than necessary tells everyone to drink water Right Now or everyone runs extra laps at practice tmr. getting off the bus before a game he closes his eyes takes 3 deep breaths makes sure he’s the last one off the bus no one is left behind he’s so ready.

hanamaki takahiro back of the bus next to issei usually aisle seat they mix it up sometimes but always back row. he can’t stay in a single position also tall mf his legs don’t fit in the seats catch him pretzel twisting. his default state is feet up on the back of the seat in front of him like slumped down feet planted knees at acute angles. when he’s in his own seat he also hits the feet propped up on the armrest of the seat across the aisle sometimes he’s criss cross sometimes his legs are on issei’s lap sometimes he manspreads or straight out legs crossed tripping people in the aisle he just can’t sit right. he stays in his seat for the Most part but also bounces around just generally causing trouble he often sings too loudly and finds ways to put shit in tooru’s hair. his earbuds are tangled in his bag if he wants to listen to music he steals issei’s or plays music out loud like hood on resting bitch face slouched in his seat phone balanced on his thigh paramore on aux. his name is signed somewhere on every single seat on the bus plus some other places good luck finding them all.

matsukawa issei perpetually next to takahiro. often window seat but that’s on hiro’s whim issei sits wherever hanamaki doesn’t. he spends a lot of time looking out the window spacing out he will give his opinion in bus-wide discussions or color commentate conversations going on around him (much to hiro’s enjoyment). he blinks lethargically when tooru’s head Appears over the seat to look down at him they chat for a while they’re discussing tomogatchi until hanamaki starts kicking the seat and oikawa complains and iwaizumi starts yelling. on really long trips issei will forgo the seat and sleep on the floor generally at least half of his body is in the aisle when circumstances become dire he uses his shoes as a pillow (socks stay on tgif). headphones always on his person always playing music not always in his ears he leans his head against the window bsbbshdnemmwlelfoejehnemmmrrpppp sits up breathes on the glass draws a penis. he is a simple man.

oikawa tooru big fan of puzzles. thinking about how dedicated he is to his craft like he works so hard to be good at what he does he opens a puzzle and locks tf in. pieces scattered across the table his formula is corners first then all the edges he builds the frame then he starts at the bottom and works up. if any of the pieces come stuck together he breaks them apart immediately and mixes them in he does not take shortcuts he likes a challenge. they completely consume him like hyperfocus to the max once he starts he can’t stop glasses on hunched over the table puzzling away. he generally doesn’t keep them once he’s finished he lets it sit for a bit takes a picture for his records then disassembly begins with little to no fanfare he doesn’t really need people to know (unless it’s a BIG puzzle then it goes on his instagram story) it’s just something he does for him he can focus for a while it gives him a sense of accomplishment and he stretches really well afterward. his favorites are pictures of places like scenic shots of nature or cities and puzzles of famous artworks like monet or van gogh or hokusai but if a puzzle comes into his possession he’s doing it at some point no matter what the picture is.

hanamaki takahiro never finished puzzles. he likes them in theory and is super excited to start them but gets bored or distracted within an hour and walks away. he works on them intermittently for a week or so while they sit and collect dust and are inevitably put away before they get finished. his attention span just isn’t long enough anything more than 50 pieces isn’t getting done. the only ones he ever finishes are the 3d like moving puzzles with the ridged pieces the ones that hurt to look at they’re usually less pieces and he likes the texture and they’re stupid pictures he completes them and picks them up of the table then crumples them apart. he really likes the idea of puzzles just doesn’t usually like them in practice, they’re too time consuming need too much focus and he’s a busy man with too much other shit to get into.

matsukawa issei is not a fan of puzzles. like he’ll help put together a piece or two if someone else is working on one but will never go out of his way to assemble a puzzle like he doesn’t care they’re not his thing he’s bored already. however he is a big fan of brain teaser/fidget puzzles like wooden puzzle cubes and puzzle boxes and metal knot things. he knows how to solve a rubik’s cube can do it in under 2 minutes no biggie he doesn’t even own one himself he just goes “can i try” whenever he sees one and flies through it. he can even solve one with his eyes closed just looks at it for a minute shuts his eyes boom solved. all these give him something to do with his hands conventional puzzles are too much sitting still and looking he needs to fidget or straight up not move none of this half and half nonsense.

iwaizumi hajime completely impartial when it comes to puzzles. he’ll help oikawa on one if he’s asked to but never seeks puzzles out he gets the appeal they’re just not for him personally. he saw a comic book puzzle one time that was really cool but that’s the extent of his interest tbh. iwaizumi isn’t a huge fan of sit down activities that aren’t competitive (anti puzzle pro video game) but as nerdy as it sounds has always been a fan of reading . graphic novels real books even the newspaper something about it is engaging and relaxing enough at the same time for him to sit still for an extended period of time. middle aged married iwaoi on weekends tooru does a puzzle at the table while hajime sits on the couch and reads a book they’re both wearing glasses they take a break at 2pm to take a nap together and go on a walk then are back at it by 4.

so oikawa tooru has a light complexion and dark brown hair like cool toned lots of contrast But. at the beginning of every summer he goes to his grandparents house by the coast for a couple weeks and he comes back fucking golden.

he spends DAYS outside his hair lightens in the sun it becomes almost a honey brown and he tans tans tans. sunkissed is too weak a term in the summer oikawa is Bronzed he’s warm toned he’s brown hair and brown eyes and tan skin he’s amber and tiger-eye and jasper he’s inlaid with gold. the tips of his hair are almost blond hajime thinks if he spends any more time in the sun he’ll turn into it. he’s losing his mind btw.

tooru is always pretty everyone know this but summertime tooru is fucking unbearable hajime can’t look at him for too long or he’ll get sunburn. he’s so goddamn pale the rest of the year he should burn red and pink he should look like a tomato so hajime can make fun of him but no. no why would he be anything but gorgeous in the summertime he’s fucking gilded. he’s all the same palette it’s like his artist painted him from a single color he’s honeyed and caramelized and warm warm brown and its probably heatstroke but iwaizumi hajime could maybe possibly be in love.

i can’t stop thinking about bokuto koutaro dyeing his own hair!!!!! he buzzed his hair one summer and tried so many different looks!!!! he experimented w different styles as it grew out again!!!!! he kept it black and white bc he has an image to maintain!!!! all of these but bokuto!!!

hanamaki takahiro big fan of stickers!!!!!!! he puts the nice vinyl ones on his water bottle laptop notebooks etc as decorations they’re Everywhere they’re so unique and fun and cutesy why wouldn’t he customize his things he just really likes stickers!!!!!

buuuut his favorites are the ones that aren’t strictly meant to be reused they’re “one and done” the ones he has to restick. fruit stickers item labels barcodes gold stars price tags anything he can get his nails under to pry off and stick somewhere else. sometimes these become permanent decorations with the other real stickers but usually he just sticks them Elsewhere . on the bottom of shoes on the back of issei’s shirt on the underside of desks and walls of bathroom stalls on the inside of hajime’s jacket hood on the legs of the volleyball carts and the handle of the broom in the closet on tooru’s backpack and in his hair on the cover of textbooks and all over blank notebook pages on video game controllers and doorframes and unsuspecting bystanders anywhere he can reach whatever happens to be closest and in need of stickering. it’s not usually done maliciously it’s more like he sees a sticker he peels it off he has it on his finger what now. if there’s nowhere to put it he sticks it on his leg to deal with later sometimes it’s hours before he remembers or sees it again he’s just walking around with a sticker leg no one pays any mind it’s one of the least unusual aspects of his appearance. yeah hanamaki takahiro and stickers !!!!!he’d wallpaper his room with them if given the chance
