Didn't want to do that, so I tried to walk away entirely.

So do you disagree with fanfic inherently? As that is rewriting characters (and stories)?

Thank you for the ask, anon! No, I don't disagree with fanfiction inherently— I write it! I'm okay with writing non-canon material— as long as they are not changing fundamentals of characters.

I disagree with 're-writing characters' — or as you could say, *changing* characters. As long as the writer of the fanfiction is staying true to the characters that the author creates in a factual sort, I have no problem with it.

For example, race-swapping. I hate race swapping, in any context because it is taking away a core feature of the character— skin color.

I don't know if this makes sense— I'm not good at explaining. But in all, I just disagree with sexuality-swapping, gender-swapping, and race-swapping because it would take away a core factor to how that person is presented as.

As long as you keep characters the same in fanfictions, it's all cool.

So let's post! And I'm about to get personal.

Making a straight character gay, a gay character straight, a trans character cis, or a cis character trans IS NOT a 'headcanon'. It is deleting a part of a character's design.

It is not 'inclusive'. It is over-writting how a character is designed. This is why I DON'T LIKE mpreg or omegaverse. I get rewriting characters, but there is a difference between saying "I like this work", and "I want to make this work my own".

IT IS DISRESPECTFUL.

Hot take; I shouldn’t have to be terrified to read / like posts. I should have to read the tags to make sure it’s not posted by an endo trying to infiltrate our spaces.
