This is a blog where I (@Sherlockianhero) write about my headcanons/AUs/etc. for series by BluJay Studios: mostly Diaries and MyStreet. And Janus. And Shad. And Balto. And Janus. And Garroth. And Garrance. And Janus. And the Divine Warriors. And Janus. A LOT of Janus.

So… I had an idea during our watch session today. About Enki.
This week, we finished the Galruk arc, with Aph “killing” the Demon Warlock and Travis joining the party huzzah huzzah
BUT. What got me thinking is Travis talking about the imps. With the way they are brought up, it feels like imps were gonna be more of a thing, though not much was done with it. HOWEVER, it made me reconsider a character idea for Enki. See, I’ve always headcanoned Enki as an elf with the way he has a proficiency in magic and keeping history and knowledge and just typical elf things. I also have this thing with the Warlock and Enki being related in some way, usually as like a reflection-sorta narrative thing.
But, like, watching S2 E31 made reconsider this: what if Enki was actually an imp?
And he was CREATED by the Warlock?
But, he goes rouge one day and becomes good. And steadily grows stronger to take them out. But, doing so means Enki would die too, so they live in this limbo of killing and not killing as the years go by. Descendants after descendant.
Anyways, the Enki brain worms continue 🙂↕️
#enki the keeper#imagine him being so obsessed with humanity because he was never part of it#it’s probably why I think Shad and him would get along very well: both being on the outside observing society and such#which makes Enki betraying Shad even more fucked. 🙂#hc#diaries rewrite project#aphmau#diaries#mcd#Minecraft diaries

I could go on a whole diatribe about Aaron and how he was set up and then wasted, but that’s for another post.
As I’m rewatching MCD S2 with friends, I’ve been calling it Laurance’s Crash-Out Arc (for obvious reasons), but it turns out I’m also crashing out because I keep getting reminded why Aaron was my favorite character. 🙃

I agree with this, to an extent. Because I don’t think Garroth’s greatest flaw is pride: quite the opposite.
I feel like he has little to no pride at all. I feel like he’s been beaten down so much in his life that having pride is almost nonexistent. Sure, he has moments where pride might shine through, but it’s not a huge part of him.
His biggest weakness, to me, is that he doesn’t think too highly of himself; like, he’s no Debbie Downer, but he tends to think with a “glass half-empty” mindset, always focusing on what could go wrong. It’s Aph, with her over abundant optimism, and Laurance, with his way to dismantle Garroth’s negative thoughts through his logic, that help him through tough times.
Do we fuck with depressed, passively-suicidal Garroth here? Asking for a friend.
#the most Garroth has any pride in himself is when he’s a guard#because he feels like that’s the only thing he can do well enough#that’s why I think Malik’s death hit him hard; because he failed at the one thing he’s good at#another weakness is him holding in his emotions until they burst and he does something irrational (ie S1 finale)#and then going off on his own in S2.#again this is just my interpretation of Garroth with some minor HC and projection. 🙂↕️#hc#diaries#diaries rewrite project#Garroth#I should really write a post about Garroth…

I want to add that this includes MyStreet Garroth too.
Not to the same degree as Diaries, as he has a better support system, but it’s something that pops up at times. Especially during his post-high school era.

So, with my approach to S3, I also have the idea of Zane, after basically losing everything, becoming more “affectionate” towards Janus after he gets him out of the nether. Like, all this time, Zane really thought of Janus as a tool, something he didn’t need to get attached to.
Then, with Janus coming to save Zane after 15 years (of Janus’s time), Zane can’t help but see Janus in a new light. He no longer sees a tool to use.
He now sees a loyal pet: a dog specifically.
Thus, Zane uses “Mutt” as a sorta pet name (no pun intended) at times. And Janus is all okay with this. 👍🏽
So… Zane and Janus.
You guys have no idea how much my brain chemistry changed back then when the lore dropped about Janus being Zane’s “favorite”; it was years ago, but it’s been gnawing in the back of my MIND.
My idea in the rewrite is Janus showing up/is mentioned more throughout the series and showcasing their relationship and how weird it is.
Because, like, how it starts is when Zane first loses his eye (no, he doesn’t lose it in the way he did in MyStreet). He’s obviously upset and emotional, lashing out the anyone trying to help, but he’s very annoyed with their pity. So, when newly appointed guard Janus asks if he can do anything for Zane, Zane sarcastically says, “I’d LOVE if you could get me a new eye.” So, Janus leaves.
Then, a bit later, he comes back, handing his own eye, freshly cut out by himself, to young Zane. This honestly shocks him, but he’s not afraid. When Zane asks why, Janus simply responds, “you asked.”
It continues for years: Janus basically becoming Zane’s shadow and fulfilling any request he has. Though he is still a guard for the whole of the Ro’meave family, he mostly follows Zane’s commands. When Zane becomes the High Priest, he nominates Janus to have a place in the Jury, which succeeds; this kept Janus to continue working under Zane mainly now.
When Zane starts his whole plan with gaining power with the relics, of taking over the realm, the only person he tells everything to is Janus; he is the only one that knows the intricate details of Zane’s plans because he would never reveal them. So, Zane sends Janus to complete tasks he needs done: whether it be recon in Tu’la, someone dying, gathering something, etc., Janus will get it done in the background as Zane plays the face of the church.
This all comes to ahead when Janus is sent on a mission from Zane and isn’t able to be there during the invasion of Phoenix Drop. Zane gets trapped with Garroth and Janus is left alone. After that, he spends the next 15 years looking for a way to get him out., desperate for the first time in his life. Until he learns the news of Zane dying, then he starts a new goal: getting Zane out of the nether.
This then goes into the HC I have of Janus basically committing death by Tu’la soldiers in an easy way to get there and runs rampant through shadow knights to get to Zane. This makes S3 different in the sense that Janus and Zane are basically together again and will not be separated again if Janus has a say in it.
And so, Zanus.
There’s details I’m leaving out, like Janus being the one to kill Ivy and also Garroth and Janus’s relationship as well. Hell, I have this whole idea of Garroth and Janus and parallels they have as guards/being loyal to a fault.
But, that’s another time. Right now, Zanus. 🙂↕️
#Janus was fine as a tool but now he’s a dog??#he’s moving up in the world wow#I want to reiterate that this is not some sexual petplay stuff#tho because Zane becomes more affectionate Janus gets more attached and aggressive with protecting him#zanus#janus#Zane#diaries rewrite project#hc

So, like, I have a lot of Janus headcanons and rewrite ideas, but one I hold dear is him and Jeffory being best friends.
Like, it’s a pretty good relationship; they meet at the academy and are both recruited for the Jury (tho, not around the same time) and they just fall into companionship via Jeffory never leaving Janus alone. At first, Janus tolerates him, but he does start to enjoy the company, though it might not look like it to outsiders.
Jeffory has learned how to read Janus in their years of friendship, and vice versa with Janus. Janus has met Jeffory’s family, and Jeffory even make Janus one of his daughter’s godparents (the other is obviously Katelyn.) They were truly brothers-in-arms, able to rely on each other for anything.
Except when it came to Zane.
Because Zane will always be Janus’s priority; he will do anything for Zane’s safety and will.
So, when Zane confronts Jeffory about letting Aphmau go, and Jeffory threatens Zane, what is Janus to do except kill Jeffory to protect Zane? Janus doesn’t hesitate, and Jeffory knew it would happen eventually; he just thought his friend would choose him for once, that he’d have his own will.
Thus, the Golden Heart was ended by the Silver Death.
Anyways…
That’s one of my Janus ideas. 🙂
#when Janus kills Jeffory#tears fall from his eyes#like he’s not emotionally crying but like he can’t control his tears and his heart aches#y’know?#hc#diaries rewrite project#janus the silver death#jeffory the golden heart#diaries#MCD#minecraft diaries#aphmau#Janus#Jeffory

Ha ha don’t think about the fact that Garroth wouldn’t know it was Aaron until after his sacrifice. 🙂 That’s another loved one Garroth loses added to the list.
A headcanon/rewrite idea I have is that Garroth and Aaron used to be friends.
The idea is that they’d know each other as children, as all the Lords gather at O’khasis for meetings on recent events and updates on how Ru’aun as a whole is doing, and Aaron’s dad thought it would be a learning experience to show him what his future role will be.
They see each other a lot during these meetings, but they never speak to each other. Until, one day, Aaron wanders into the training ground for guards where Garroth is accepting anyone to challenge him. A few have tried, but no one has beaten Garroth. Aaron decides to take the challenge. And he wins. This awakens Garroth’s competitiveness and asks to go again. So, they do and Aaron wins again. This continues throughout the day, but both of them are enjoying the company and having fun (Garroth also starts winning matches, but Aaron is the overall victor). And that’s how Garroth decides that Aaron will be his new rival, and even if Aaron isn’t invested in the rivalry, he does like making a new friend.
And that’s how it starts. And, it goes on for a couple of years, usually sneaking out to meet halfway between O’khasis and Falconclaw in the woods to just hang out, spar, and exchanging their cultures (mainly Aaron sharing his because of other hcs I have of Falconclaw and Tu’la being connected.)
And how it ends is when they both go through some life changes: Garroth starts at the guard academy and Aaron’s dad is murdered by Okasis’s Lord, causing Aaron to distance himself. Garroth then loses one of his few friends he has.
Years later, when Aaron, finally taking up his position as Lord, does try to reconnect, he finds out that Garroth had died a while ago and regrets not trying to reconnect sooner.
And, yeah. That’s my idea in my rewrite. 🙂
#and then he blames himself. you know. like he always does.#🙂#oh Garroth you mental health risk#/pos#hc#diaries rewrite project#garroth ro’meave#garroth#Aaron
