I JUST REALIZED- I KNOW HOW BELATED THIS IS SINCE I'VE BEEN READING STOP ME FOR SEVERAL YEARS, BUT ARE THE VOICES STARSCREAM HEARS WHEN HE'S FALLING BETWEEN TIMELINES THE PEOPLE WHO HAD THEIR LOVED ONES EXPERIMENTED ON FOR BEING OUTLIERS?? I LOVE THAT, THAT'S SO NEAT
Yes~! Hello, hi!
Yes, Ch. 1 officially connects aaaaaaaaaaaaaaall the way to Ch. 233, where we finally get to see the big reveal about what Starscream is and how he was being sought after before the war truly took hold of Cybertron!
In Brainstorm’s video to his ‘World Burner’, it’s revealed that Starscream’s spark ended up, for a few seconds in this distorted time field, within the same plane of existence as Brainstorm and one of his test subjects, Hot Spot, while he was being confronted by two of Hot Spot’s close friends. Starscream’s spark inadvertently heard Inferno and Firestar speaking with Brainstorm over Hot Spot’s tragic ‘accident’. His spark wasn’t there long but Brainstorm had a machine that was looking for his energy and it found it…

I believe I sent an ask before but I'm not sure so here's another one!
First of all I just want to say that Stop Me is the first fanfic I've ever read and the one that got me into fanfics in the first place! It's honestly gotta be my favorite story out of the many I've read, and your characterization is just so perfect!! The same goes for Redeem The Stars which was amazing too! The way Optimus cares for Starscream in Stop Me has me dying but in a good way y'know? Your story just gives me so many art ideas and the scene descriptions are incredible!! The characters feel pretty accurate and its easy to imagine them speaking through their voices from the show, which just makes it so much more interesting while reading! I love this story so much and I can't wait for the next chapter! That cliffhanger! Omg.
Anyways! I have question: How did Optimus and Starscream feel when they were sitting on the ground in Ch. 100/Ch. 101? When they were there for hours... in silence...😭
Helloooooo~!!! Thank you for all the support and love! I’m pleased you enjoy my stories so much and the way I write for the characters. I do work very hard to keep them as accurate as possible. :)
Onto your question! What were they feeling?
Hmm…
Relief. Comfort. A small sense of peace shared between them, if only for a fleeting moment. Safe. Trusted. Understood. In those brief hours, there was no one else that needed them aside from one another. There was nothing else that had to be addressed or added or even spoken aloud. There was a connection that said they needed nothing else other than the other’s presence. Words would have been too little or too much.
In their silence, sat together, they felt serenity.

Howdy! So I've already read Stop Me like probably three times already (maybe four since I plan on rereading again) and I just want to say that both Stop Me and Redeem The Stars will always be strangled tightly in my spark. The first time I picked it up I read it EVERY DAY. I even made a Fanfic Friday dedicated to it and every time I even think about it I literally explode into a mixed emotional breakdown (especially when thinking about those last two chapters.)
Anyway, I wanted to ask a few Qs if you don't mind...
Was there anything that inspired/gave you the idea to write Stop Me or Redeem The Stars? If so, what was your inspo?
Who's Starscream's favorite out of Team Prime? Any reason why?
How would Starscream react if Jetfire was in this universe?
Is there any actual explanation why Starscream suddenly discovered his power? Or did he just always have an outlier ability but was just unaware of it?
How close would you say Optimus and Starscream are?
Thank you for taking your time to read this if you do! Absolutely kookoo bananas for your works (I'm trying so hard not to explode right now) and I hope you're doing the bestest of best!!
Howdy back~! I’m honored to hear that both of my Transformers stories hold such high value to you. ^^
1. Frustration. Spite. Knowing that TFP had the opportunity to be so much MORE and seeing it held back by corporate standards instead of encouraged by an artist’s vision. Starscream himself was a wonderfully complicated character that had initially been written out of the show. And when he was forced back in, it was clear that no one knew what to do with him. How he was treated made everything so much more frustrating. Well, if the writers of TFP couldn’t or wouldn’t do it, I guess it’s MY job to fix it.
2. Starscream definitely could never but absolutely could while also not really being hypothetical in his address of this question that maybe, but no, well yes, nah, have a favorite. It’s like choosing a treat. You have favorites for a reason. Maybe you’d prefer something more creamy than chocolatey at one time but the next is something WILD like a fruit roll-up pickle. No judgements. And so it’s not like he could ever truly have a favorite out of all of the bots Optimus. It’s Optimus. Who ELSE?
3. Currently, there is not much I can detail about Skyfire in this particular situation.
4. There is a larger explanation at work but what I can definitively tell you at this time is that Starscream always had this outlier power.
5. Hmmm… Allow me to be poetic in my answer in a way I’ve not been allowed to in my current writings…
Embryonically. Down to the finest wisps of electrical thought and a million words behind quick glances. When one casts a shadow, the other is blinding light. They are the backs and fronts of each other, torn and twisted and broken and still somehow mended despite these things as though they were reflections never fractured. Mirrors. But only of one another.

In regards to your latesy posts : huge thank you for your the writting advice. I genuenly think your writting style one of your biggest strenght and it's one that I'm trying to master with my writting.
It also somehow became my quality judge when it comes to what I read. You see,I read so many fics lately and all of them have some of the problems you described. From unnecessary sentences describing what and why characters feel, ending each dialogue same way( exam: "I'm so tired." She said, tiredly.),to the such overdescription of the scenery that in the end you have to ask"Why the author didn't just draw it instead?"( And one of them literaly can, since they do have very pretty fanart of it).
Now I'm not saying I hate these stories, because I don't.Quite the opposite, actually. I even made fanart on some of them on my channel,so you can check them out if you want and make your own opinions on them. Alhought I warn you, most of them all crossovers(what can I say, I just kinda like them).
I hope I will be able post my own fics soon. But life has been very stressfull and busy lately so I have no idea when I will finish it.So in the mean time I'm gonna focus on my drawing skills( I will learn how to draw tfp robots and I will make fanart of your fic no matter what.)
Hi! I’m glad my ‘writing tips’ post was so helpful and informative. I can’t say that all my advice will apply, but it’s how I view the world and how I interpret it in my writing. Even if it’s not quite what someone needs, maybe it will help them find something that does. :)
There’s no correct way to write. I believe the art of writing to be a very powerful form of communication. Some of what you described, such as the repeating of a feeling or expression in the dialogue to the actual narration, may be because they’re not entirely sure how to have that particular character express themselves or maybe they’re concerned with being understood. This can cause over or under-writing for the character, environment or even situation. Writing takes time to master and I started very young. ‘Mistakes’ made along the way are not mistakes, they are opportunities to learn! Everyone is learning how to best hone their craft and it takes time and patience in one’s work and one’s self.
I hope that you are treasuring everything you write for the experiences that they are. I understand being busy and stressed; life is always happening. As for your drawings- I can’t wait to see them. :) I’m sure they’ll look amazing.

Hi, everyone~! I’ve decided it’s time for me to make an introductory post (better late than never? XD) and an FAQ for anyone looking to send me an ask! Please refer to the FAQ before sending in an ask, as I may have already answered the question once or twice or several times before. ^^;
About Me:
What do I say about myself without saying too much? Hm. Well, my online handle is megadoomingir, a very firm choice I made as a child for one account that ended up attaching to me from then on. I think I did pretty darn good! For my invader ZiM fan-mutuals, they’ll see that I’ve taken the ‘megadoomer’ made it a verb and attached it to GIR. I was a clever child. XD
I enjoy writing quite a bit and try to write as canonically as possible when dealing with fanfiction. I view my stories like episodes or movies in my head, and even read dialogue for characters in their voices. If I don’t feel they would act or speak in a certain way, I will not write it.
I’m on Instagram! You can find my megadoomingir profile here. I also have a second account for wire wrapped jewelry under my foundandstitched profile. I don’t post much on either account as I’m actually quite shy but I don’t mind saying ‘hello’.
I also have a ko-fi! Might as well advertise that, right? I write things and take commissions. If you’re interested, please refer to the rules I’ve laid out on my Ko-Fi page.
FAQs:
Y’all have a lot of questions! I do my best to answer them all but I get easily overwhelmed and am sometimes shy about answering. I get to DMs as quickly as I can, so if you have a question you’d like answered quickly/privately, please message me there. :) Otherwise…
When will you post an update?: Uuuuh, when life calms down? When I’m in the write head-space? When things are less chaotic? I really appreciate the enthusiasm but I can’t give an accurate answer to this. I’ve also been asked many times. I understand the excitement but I won’t be answering this question anymore. ^^;
How are you?: Ffffffine? This sits right up there with ‘when will you post’; these two are usually entangled in each other.
Where’s the link to your story?: I’ve made more than a few posts with my link attached. Here is the link for Stop Me again. Moving forward, I won’t answer this ask.
Will you post on Ao3?: I’ve answered this question multiple times, too. Short answer is ‘no’. Long answer was in another post. XD This one.
Can I draw you fanart?: 😭 Yes, PLEASE! You do NOT have to ask!
StarPrime?: I will always answer this vaguely. :3
In Summary…:
Thank you for stopping on my page! I hope this post has helped to better introduce us to each other and I hope my FAQs have answered what you need. I appreciate my readers and thank everyone for being along for this journey. It’s been amazing and I can’t wait to see where we all go from here. :)

Hello! How are you?
I read your fanfic "Stop Me" and I loved it. This fanfic helped me when I was morally destroyed.
I wanted to ask you a question, but I was afraid to do it for a long time. Which timeline do you think is harder for Starscream, if we compare the canon of TFP and "Stop Me"? And if you ask him where he would decide to stay, what would he answer?
Thank you so much for such a masterpiece! ❤️ I look forward to the next chapters. Thanks in advance for your answer!
Hi back! I’m doing fine; how are you? 😊
Thank you for reading my story. I’m sorry you went through a rough time, but I’m glad my work was able to offer some comfort.
Hmm, in comparison? Stop Me has definitely been harder on Starscream. If we were to ask him your question, it would look a little like…
Starscream huffed and his wings flared, “This place has been horrENDOUS! Do you know how much I’ve suffered?! How much I’ve had to endure in this horrid place?! I’ve worked my AFT off here and it’s never appreciated! I always have to rescue everyone!”
The seeker began to pace, the click of his peds almost mimicking a high-pitched stomp, “It’s not even the heavy lifting that’s the problem! I’m actually quite strong! … And amazing. These are facts. It’s all the emotional SLAG in between! How dare these fools convince me that we could be friends!” he grimaced, “It’s the hugging! And the spark-to-spark chats! I would rather lift mountains than deal with the emotional turmoil all of this has put me through!”
Starscream’s wings flicked and then settled down again; he folded his servos neatly behind his back, “This new dimension’s trials have been the hardest I’ve ever worked in all of my function. It’s been cruel in ways one could only witness in nightmares. But my dedication awarded me many things. I… don’t think I have to detail what they are…”
And in being asked your second question…
The seeker’s optics widened, “If I had to CHOOSE?! After all the work I put into surviving here, you think I’d CHOOSE to go BACK?! I’d stay here! Everything I’ve built is here! All of my relics are here! My team- friends- my IDIOTS are HERE-! Optimus! OPTIMUS!!!”
I hope that answers your questions. It was very fun to imagine Starscream answering them in his ‘unique’ way. :)

hello!! im currently reading 'stop me' and the fanfic has me in absolute chokehold, your creation of starscream as a character is so interesting since essentially his selfishness leads to him becoming incredibly selfless.
i love how starscream's decision to aid the autobots is originally motivated by his desire to have someone to care for him as from the previous timeline he deduced the decepticons cannot provide this kind of protection for him. and then he starts actually caring about the autobots, especially optimus 🥹 the way his goal went to "i must not allow DEAD to happen under any circumstances" to "i'd be willing to sacrifice myself if it means helping my teammates friends" is absolutely endearing and his journey is absolutely in-character for his tfp iteration.
thank you so much for writing this fanfic as well as 'redeem the stars'. i don't think i ever loved any piece of writing that much, when you finish the fanfic i'll probably print the whole thing out, bind it and put it on my shelf 🥹🫶
Aww, hello! And thank you for such love and support! It truly is appreciated and I’m glad you enjoy my story so much. :)
It’s funny that you mention printing out Stop Me as a book… Guess I won’t find a better time than now to talk about it! I’m actually considering a small print line of books for Stop Me, which will include drawn pieces by myself (gotta brush up on my drawing skillz! XD). I can’t give too many details at this time, but it is a goal of mine, not a dream, to have physical copies of my story bound in paper and color on my shelf. I suppose I’ll have to make that available to others, too.
You’re welcome to print your own, but should I make a book series available? Let me know what you think!
Thank you again and have a lovely day. :)

Idk if anyone has asks this but are Thundercracker, Skywarp or even Jetfire alive in the stop me fanfic or not.
No one has asked yet! But, unfortunately, I cannot discuss such characters at this time. 😅
Thank you for your question!

I laughed so hard i started choking (don’t laugh when you’re midway through a sandwich kids!). I absolutely love how you write Soundwave, he’s comedy gold 😂
Oh no! Not on a sandwich! 🥪
Soundwave is one of the more interesting bots to write for. When he’s not having to be an agent of the Decepticons, he’s actually quite sweet in an analytical way and humorous, even if he doesn’t intend to be. I’m glad he made you laugh! But please don’t choke on a sandwich again! 😭

I know you got a lot on your plate and this may never actually happen, but hypothetically would you ever consider writing a StarOp fic? Hypothetically
Hi! Thank you for respecting the plate, but of course I’m going to answer your ask!
‘Consider’? What a strange word in this context! And ‘hypothetically’? Another strange word! 🤣
Yes.

Hi! I'm new to tumblr so if any of this comes off weird sorry for that lol. Just wanted to say that I fuckin LOVED "Stop Me" immensely and I was wondering if it would be alright with you if I made comic pages of some of my favourite scenes as fanart? I only ask because I might end up taking away a line or something similar for spacing and I don't wanna accidently mess anything up or interrperet it wrong lol.
Thanks so much for writing what you did. Have a lovely day!
Hello! Welcome to tumblr! I hope the place and the people have been treating you well; I know my community has been wonderful and patient with me. :) And thank you for reading my story! I’m glad you enjoyed it so much!
Goodness- You’d like to make art? For me? That sounds WONDERFUL! If you are really worried about something being ‘misinterpreted’, feel free to message me here and I can take a look at it. Or, if you don’t want to show me (I understand surprises and such), you’re welcome to describe the scene and explain what you may have any concerns over. If you’re comfortable with your piece and have no issues, feel free to POST AWAY~! All that I ask is that you please @ me, as I really do love seeing fanart of my work, and if anything has been ‘reinterpreted’, to please note that you took some of your own ‘artistic liberties’ with the dialogue/scene/etc.
Otherwise, I can’t wait to see what you make! And thank you for asking! Have a wonderful day. :)

Hello! I read your fanfic "stop me" and it inspired me to create a whole sub-blog dedicated to an au I came up with.
Are there any tips you have for writing things out like settings? And also just general pacing cuz I seem to struggle with pacing lol
Hello! And goodness me- I was recently told ‘artists inspiring artists’; please carry that with you as you work on your AU blog and any other stories you come up with! Keep the energy flowing! 🙌
And what a great question! Let me see if I can break things down for you and, hopefully, be helpful. :)
Let’s start with settings. Let’s say you’d like to write a battle. Swords clanging, guns firing, knuckles cracking, whatever it is. The battle itself, whether big or small, has no form or real function unless you know where it’s being fought. Fighting on a beach is going to be written differently than on the streets in a city or even along a mountain path. You have to take into account the terrain and the relationship it has with your characters. Not just where their feet are planted but what hazards could arise (misplaced stones/shells, trash/human objects, boulders/trees/bushes, SO MANY THINGS-). Even the little details, the weather, the natural world, the smells, all of it, comes together to create the scene. So hmm… Let me try something. I’m not going to tell you where the setting is. I’m going to describe it…
Dawn had long since passed. The crash of the waves and the salt in the air only added to the tension growing amongst her soldiers. Her lieutenant was trying to be subtle, kicking the heel of his boot against his calf to dislodge sand collecting between his toes, but it only made her fill with more anxiety. The discomfort was as palpable as the bite of the cold wind across her face. She could smell winter’s breath, its breeze like frozen fingers in her hair. Her army’s banner twirled above her on a post. It would be the first thing her opponents saw as they crawled over the dunes to meet their end.
Now let’s analyze this. They’re on the beach. It’s the seaside. It’s cold, miserable, windy. Everyone is on edge. Instead of directly saying ‘The battle was on the beach…’, I described the territory and some of the issues they’d be dealing with. I even give the time of day. I don’t need to talk about how maybe there’s a cape nearby or an outcrop of boulders, unless it be pertinent to the story itself, but I give enough detail that someone could close their eyes, smell the salt, feel the cold and hear the waves. Don’t overload your settings to start, but be very mindful of what is important to tell your story. Since this woman’s army stands at the beach, that sand is going to affect how they’re able to move, run, dodge, etc. Focus FIRST on the most important details to your story’s environment, then add other details as needed. If the detail has no impact on your characters or the progress of the story, then it probably isn’t needed anyway. Let me give another example of this, so you can see the difference!
Milo needed the latest and greatest appliances, especially in his state-of-the-art kitchen. He never cooked and refused to learn. Among the wooden countertops that he felt matched the blue walls and low-hanging white tiles, his utensils were stacked neatly and covered in dust. He had flowering plants in pots by the window. Next to the kitchen was his favorite room, his woodworking shop.
Ok, this was hard for me to write because I didn’t want to talk about his kitchen at all and really wanted to detail his hobby- But let me explain that! Pretend we are writing a story about this ‘Milo’ and his woodworking shop that he runs out of his home. That’s the first thing we should be describing! If it’s important later that he needs his kitchen, we can describe it gently in the beginning. But pretend we talked about his shop first already-
He’d never really noticed it all before. The stacks of nonperishables he never cooked, the neat rows of appliances and utensils never touched- some still tightly bound in their original packaging- and all of it, all of it, covered in a fine layer of dust that had never once caught his eye. Well, it caught his eye now. And as the surmounting list of cleaning tasks grew larger, Milo’s stomach dropped with the feeling of knowing he had only an hour to clean… and an hour to learn how to cook.
Oh Milo. Shouldn’t have put that off. XD Now that it’s important to the story, we can describe his kitchen. Could be family, a friend or even someone new in his life coming over. The point is this: if you’re writing about Milo’s woodworking shop that he runs out of his house, and it happens to sit next to the kitchen, don’t describe the kitchen unless it becomes a major part of the story. Maybe he needs to grab a cup of coffee out of there and reflect on his life choices. Or he has a tantrum and breaks a cup. But unless his coming into the kitchen for say, breakfast, is a super important moment, don’t describe how he makes two poached eggs, three slices of toast with butter, fresh squeezed orange juice and a handful of bacon. Sounds like a great breakfast. But does it give him food poisoning later? Is the breakfast itself important because his late mother made it for him and it was the last thing she made for him so he eats it every day? To sum it all up, focus on the details that drive your story forward or have place and reason among your characters. I’ve written Milo for only a little bit, I just made him up, but from what we can already see, he’s an artist, probably good with his hands, but clearly neglects parts of his house and he doesn’t know how to cook. He’s probably struggling with other aspects of his life that are spiraling out of his control and where he finds control is in buying things he never uses. His house is probably hoarded in on top of everything else. If I were to write a story about Milo and his woodworking shop, I would want to keep my details of his environment important to his story.
As for pacing… I feel like a majority of my childhood was filled with great movies and TV shows. Some, when I watch now, are really fast-paced and I feel robbed of the larger story I could have had with an extra season or even a TV show out of a movie premise. Take a look at the media you consume. What movies and shows are you watching currently? Do they feel wrapped up a little quickly or too fast paced? Or even the opposite? Are they dragging on and on without telling much of a story? Part of how we as writers tell stories is based largely upon our exposure to media and experiences we’ve had. When it comes to translating all that into our own written word, pacing can be hard to master.
Let me be clear: it took me years to master pacing. Practice, practice, practice does help. Not perfection, but improvement. There’s always the ability to do better later on. If I were to read my very early works, I would cringe at the sight of it. But it’s what helped me develop my skills as a writer. My advice would be to look into writing privately for yourself, something you don’t post, and something you can quietly dissect without outside influence telling you how to do it. Read it aloud so you can hear the story (as reading it and hearing it are very different and can help you spot problems) or even have your computer read it to you (check your computer’s Voice under System Preferences, if you have it).
How does your story end? It’s one of the most important questions a writer can ask themselves when they come up with an idea. If you don’t have an idea for the ending, your pacing will definitely be off because your story is on a journey to nowhere. I’m fortunate in the sense that when I have an idea, it’s one of the first few things I establish in my head. ‘I have a story about this and these are some things that happen in between and this is how it ends.’ Stories that have no defined end tend to drag on too much and stories that don’t have foundations to build off of will move too quickly.
So to summarize: when it comes to settings and environments, you need to imagine in your head what the territory accomplishes for your characters and your story. What details are important to them to push the story forward? What needs to be understood immediately and what can be told later? Highlight the most significant aspects first. Let your characters’ interactions with their world help describe the rest. And when it comes to pacing? Absorb what you can through media. Analyze the pacing in movies and TV shows. Ask yourself ‘did they write the pacing too fast/too slow? Am I satisfied/agitated/bored with the length of the story? Does it make little sense how it pulls together?’ And don’t limit yourself to watching only the good stuff, consume bad stories, too. You will learn so much by watching bad shows and movies because we as humans notice the bad over the good consistently. (If you have a friend who seems to always complain about their car, you’re going to think they need a new car. But wait-! How often does your friend compliment how well their car drives? How often does anyone? You’re not going to spend your days praising your vehicle, you’re going to complain when this simple blip in your life is doing something wrong.) So watch bad media, too. Sci-Fi movies are easy to do that with. Any movie ‘made for TV’. I can provide you a list of ‘goods’ and ‘bads’ to study from. All movies that I would name, good or bad, are done so with love.
And let me say this…:
You will struggle. You will revise and rewrite and reimagine whole sections, and that is the beauty of your creation. To be seen and understood in your way and then reformed to be better seen and understood by others. Your writing will only improve the more you do it. Don’t be afraid to explore the limits of your abilities and push them. :)

Im new but where can I read your Fanic Stop Me at? Is it on Ao3 ir somewhere else?
Hello there! My work is currently posted on the fanfiction website, located here. It’ll take you directly to the story and start you on the first chapter. :)
As for Ao3…

Um… no. Whenever I’ve heard people talk about the site, it’s always with a ‘it’s down again!’ scare. I even tried to look it up the other day and was met with a similar message as used above. You’re not the first person to ask, nor do I doubt that you’ll be the last, if it’s posted/will be posted there, and I keep answering ‘no’.
I understand people really enjoy the website. And I’m glad! Fan writers and readers should have as many places and opportunities to share stories as possible! But fanfiction dot net is where I started and is where I’m comfortable. I’ve had little to no issues working with it in the time that I’ve had an account there and I really like the way it’s set up.
I will say this: if my story is posted in other places, like Ao3, it’s not something I’ve given the ‘ok’ on. There are retranslations of my work in Japanese and Russian, I believe, but if it’s posted anywhere else in English, then the poster is thieving my work.
Thank you for reaching out to ask for a link! I hope I was helpful.

I know youve been working on “stop me” for quite a few years, and its amazing, big fan. I was just curious, if you were to change anything about early plot points or dynamics, would you? If so, what would you change?
Honestly im a huge fan of what youve got going on, sorry if this is an odd question haha
Whoooooa, this is a great question!
Especially since I already made a ton of mistakes in the beginning that I had to correct later for PLOT! XD
Honestly, though? I don’t think I would change anything. I made my mistakes in the beginning, and earlier on, and they ended up being amazing plot additions. I’m actually really pleased with how it went down.
I’m sure I’ve said this in an ask before, but I went in with ZERO plans in mind. I just started writing and writing and seeing where the story would go with very little kept in mind. Once it actually started to take shape, I had to start explaining things and making them make sense. There were a ton of things I added in that I had to justify later on and you know what? I did and they worked and it was wonderful. :3
So at this point? No, I don’t think I’d change anything, given it was all written on the fly anyway. XD
Thank you for your question! I thoroughly enjoyed it. :3
