It Lives Within Update: Gallery and Achievements

Hello there, friends! I know it's been a while. However, we recently felt motivated to add a CG gallery and an achievements list! To get the update, simply redownload the game from our itch page (find embedded link above). When you unlock CGs, you can now found them under the gallery tab on the main page. When you complete achievements, you will now find a page listing all your completed achievements, alongside a summary that tells you what percentage of achievements you've completed. There are a total of 245 achievements. Happy hunting!

Thank you for your continued support. Just this week, we had 100 downloads in a single day. The game has been finished for years now, and more people keep discovering us. We're so grateful for the experience of this game in our lives and the community we found through the process. ❤️

Note: Unfortunately, achievements and CGs you've already completed won't appear in your game until you replay and get them again. So you will need to start fresh if you are interested in trying to complete as many achievements and CGs as possible.

Ooooh, can't miss the chance to share my headcanons of my MC and Tyril's engagement scene! I got a lot to say, so here I go!

F!MC saying "I know you've been meaning to ask" prompted me to write a fic where Sarenya asks Tyril and Willow if they plan on getting married. She loves Willow, and would love to have her as a daughter-in-law! The two haven't talked about it, but Tyril admits he's been considering it. Knowing Tyril, Willow lets him do the proposing, while also hoping he doesn't stress too much about it.

I headcanon that Willow meets her parents in Elhalas before heading to the Ring of Dawn, so she can properly reunite/talk to them and introduce them to the party (and Tyril ofc). Tyril gets a moment alone with them, asking for their blessing for her hand in marriage, which they obviously agree. I also see him stressing out about it to Sarenya before returning to the living world, which she reassures that everything will go well.

I saw @bedtimegiraffe's own headcanons, and she pretty much nailed how I imagined the proposal going! Tyril would make it very personal to the MC. I can see him doing it in Starfury manor, like in canon. He can also do it in Riverbend, MC's hometown, with all the citizens and the party watching.

As for the ring, I mentioned it briefly in another fic here! I like to think it's the Starfury signet ring that MC first sees back in Blades 1, chapter 4. He worked with Adrina to commission the modifications. Blue gem + green gems representing Tyril and Willow's colours respectively, with a starry pattern embedded on the gems (shout-out to the Tyril group chat for the starry pattern idea, haha).

Also, with elven marriages being more political in nature, I'd like to think that Tyril heard/read about how human proposals worked, which prompted him to meticulously prepare his proposal so that it's perfect for Willow. But of course, she'll love it no matter what.

Okay, now that it's been months, I am prepared to say it: those Blades proposals were soo... sloppy.

I knew that even on the day of the finale, but to be engaged to my LIs (all three of them) was so beyond what I thought we could get in canon that I happily overlooked it, but yeah, those scenes, although cute, were really underdone. In my opinion, they would have benefitted if, instead of making the LIs' Big Finale scenes the tryst in the afterlife (even though from them we got to discuss how the party members felt about the big choice, which was important even if it was disregarded by MC), the romantic scene should've been the one that potentially had the proposal or the one that immediately followed it.

Speaking for my playthroughs (although I think all proposals needed to be better, properly developed)—sure, I could see Mal's proposal being spontaneous as it was in canon, but it still deserved to be more fleshed out. In Tyril's, MC states that they know he meant to ask, thereby apparently ruining his surprise, which sort makes him have to do it on the spot, when I think Tyril would go for something more planned out and romantic. Like, Tyril's proposal to his uluvalir should've put Shakespeare to shame. And don't get me started on Aerin's. I will always praise that scene for having my female MC do the proposing to the male LI, but it comes so out of nowhere it's actually egregious, like "good job with the woodcutting tips, I'm so proud of you—incidentally, I think I wanna marry you", like no wonder he was startled, that came out of the blue, and considering how even at the time of the proposal he was in disbelief that MC wanted to marry him, MC jumped the gun without having a relationship talk first. Also, would it have killed MC to at least have a ring or necklace to propose to their human partner with?

Idk, I just feel like the big finale of a romantic route, a proposal within a random scene, shouldn't be reduced to 10-12 screens (literally counted from the moment MC makes the marriage choice to the end of the scene in my pt). It's just one of the many things I felt were rushed during the finale chapter and that I wish they'd taken the time within the story to do justice to. I do hope we get that wedding book so the routes can end on a richer note, but in the meantime, I just embrace the engagements but mentally rewrite how the proposals went.

I sat on this for so long and must finally unleash my annoyance:

Why are Adrina and Valir fine when Tyril just died?!

Nia says the Temple is making a big deal of her death, so we know the wider world is aware.

Imtura's crew probably had a big funeral party and kept on going in her honor, like we saw when Ventra died.

Valax is focused on her people being cared for, not whether they're sad or not.

The goblins see death as a neutral fact of life- they wouldn't feel the need to mourn Aerin.

But Tyril's family, who already thought they lost him once?! I do not believe they were 'well.' And I don't think Tyril is someone who could watch him family grieving his death and go, "They're both crying, but they're safe, so it's all good. We'll be back soon anyway."

Tyril isn't the most in-tune with people's emotions. Maybe he saw them passionately advocating at some public event and took that as 'all good'? He didn't see the slightly puffy eyes and hidden pain that someone like MC might have seen?

That's my headcanon, because I can't accept that Tyril's loving family just moved right on from his death.

I haven't shared any gameplay, but I did finish Immortal Desires 1! Overall fun experience, enjoyed the lore and I really like Cas! My poor diamond stash, the diamond price increase is really rough. I'll get to Immortal Desires 2 soon!
