For all you tender hearts. Happy Valentine’s day. This is a video collaboration between myself and Aurore Biry, Dancer/Photographer extraordinaire. The song was actually written and recorded way back in the day — in 2005 – a collaboration between Karl Snyder and myself. and finally created anew in video-form to honour the deep heart connection and love that I share with my partner, who appears in the video with me. A bubble of LOVE and Tenderness!!! This is what is offered in this video. Enjoy!!

ohh it’s true! In this song, I feel like my voice is an instrument. It’s difficult to understand what the lyrics are. Can you catch them?

Honestly, it’s a pleasure to have my voice vocoded by Kazuto Okawa. In my books, he is a genius and I totally trust him. ;)

When we work on a track together, I send him my vocals and really, I never know what the end result is going to be. For this track, after I sent him my vocals, a week later he got back to me a little worried, saying, “I hope you’re not upset with me, I started processing your voice and it took me in a completely different direction.” and it’s fabulous. I love the energy of Transcribe.

New LLLL! This song feels really different from Paradice, kind oftransitional. That’s mostly because of the vocals: where Paradice got some of its eerie charm from the ambiguity between “real” vocals and synthetic processing, embodied by their oddly pitch-shifted quality, Meghan Riley’s vocals here get vocoded into something clearer but more synthetic. It’s simultaneously more human and less? The instruments, on the other hand, are clearer and more rave-y than ever. There are a lot of interesting directions LLLL could go in from here.

Meghan Riley– Biography

Meghan Riley is a Montréal based vocalist and composer who has performed in numerous projects since 2004. As a member of the Montréal vocal trio Fruiting Bodies, she’s released a full-length album, Fascia and toured extensively throughout Canada and the United States. Entering the world of trip-hop, electro-pop and techno, Meghan has collaborated with various producers: Spooloops, Karl Snyder, Hissy Fit in their electro-pop duo Magmatic and Kazuto Okawa in his project LLLL. Under the name Meghan Beth Riley: WEAVE, Meghan has released a single of ambient vocal loops and performs regularly in Montréal, at yoga and dance classes, puppet shows and drone sleepovers. Since 2007, Meghan has facilitated Experimental Choir, creating a curriculum to teach vocal development and improvisation. Currently, Meghan is researching ways to combine her ambient vocal soundscapes with electro-pop/minimal tech beats, sweet lyrics and smooth melodies.
