Blue Haired Boy pt 1

Spencer Reid x Roan Hawthorne (oc)

Summary: Spencer introduces his boyfriend to the team. Fluff

“You taste like cinnamon, chocolate, and marijuana.” Spencer said, pulling away from the kiss. He nuzzled his head into his partner’s neck. “I missed it.”

Spencer and Roan had met a few months back at the local library. Spencer was returning a copy of Plato’s readings that Roan was looking for. Spencer had enjoyed the conversation that followed. Roan was easy to talk to and seemed interested when Spencer had started to ramble. Roan gave Spencer their number and they had been talking since. 

“I think I’m going to tell the team.” Spencer said, still buried in his partner’s neck. 

“About us?” Roan asked

“Yes.” Spencer closed his eyes and nuzzled in closer. “You should come with me to brunch tomorrow.” 

“Sure,” Roan smiled down at the boy stretched across the couch “Get some rest.”

Spencer woke up the next morning still on the couch. A quilt had been tossed over him and a few pillows under his head. The sun was coming in through the curtains. Spencer sat up and rubbed his eyes. 

Roan came in from the kitchen holding a mug and cup. They were both filled with coffee but Spencer didn’t like ice in his. Roan handed Spencer the mug.

“Do you still want me to come to brunch?” Roan asked.

“uh- yes.” Spencer said, still trying to wake up. “What time is it?” he asked

“8:30.” Roan replied. 

Spencer nodded and sipped his coffee. “We should be leaving by 9:30.” Roan watched the wheels turn in Spencer’s brain for a few moments before he opened his mouth again. “I had a dream about the unsub from this last case.”

“Do you want to talk about it?” Roan sat next to his boyfriend. Spencer’s eyes lost their focus while he pondered the question. “or do you want to wait until after brunch?” Roan suggested.

“After brunch would be smart.” He nodded. One thing he really loved about Roan was how in tune with emotions they were. Not just their own either. Roan could figure out what Spencer was feeling and how to approach the situation with solutions. Roan smiled and kissed Spencer. They got up from the couch and headed for the bathroom.

“I am going to take a shower now so I have time to figure out what to wear!” Roan said. Spencer smiled at his partner’s passion for fashion. He knew whatever Roan picked Penelope was going to love it. He picked up the book he had been reading the night before from the coffee table and began reading. He sipped on his coffee and read until Roan was done in the shower. They came out wrapped in a towel and Spencer had to control his wandering eyes. He was so shy and oblivious about his own attraction, Roan thought it was adorable. 

Spencer enjoyed the hot water running down his body. He scrubbed his worries away with a bar of handmade soap Roan had bought at a farmer’s market.

When Spencer was done with his shower, he found Roan in a pair of black cargo pants, staring at a spread of button down shirts. All but one were brightly colored; the white one had a brightly colored vest laying on top of it. 

“What are your thoughts?” Roan asked when Spencer popped his head in. 

“I really like the vest.” Spencer smiled

“You do like a good vest.” Roan mussed. 

Spencer chose to wear a cardigan himself. Black over a grey-blue button down. He would’ve preferred a vest but he only had what he packed for the night. Roan wore the white button down and vest. He put a black tie underneath the vest for “some formality”. 

Penelope had picked a moody cafe for brunch. She and Derek Morgan were already there when Spencer and Roan showed up. 

“Who’s this?” Derek asked, gesturing to Roan.

“This-” Spencer paused and looked at Roan. “is my boyfriend.” Roan smiled and waved. 

“Oh my god!” Penelope jumped out of her seat., “Hi! Spencer you’re Bi? It's so good to meet you! I love your hair and your outfit and your- just- everything!” Her smile was huge and her energy made Roan laugh.

“It’s good to meet you guys too!” 

Aaron Hotchner, David Rossi, and Emily Prentiss arrived at the same time. Spencer introduced Roan to everyone else and they all sat down. Roan listened to the conversations. Every once in a while he would catch Spencer stress fidgeting. Roan reached his hand under the table and would rest his hand on Spencer’s knee. 

After food had come and gone Penelope (now 3 margaritas deep) turned the conversation to Roan and Spencer. 

“So when did this happen?” She waved her hand towards Spencer and his boyfriend.  

“We met… a few months ago?” Roan turned to Spencer who had a much better memory than he did. 

“4 months, 1 week, and 4 days.” Spencer said

“But how long have you been dating?” Penelope said

“I don’t think there was a moment.” Spencer hummed.

“I don’t get out much, and Spencer’s social life is you guys so there wasn’t any reason to put labels on it.” Roan piped up. “Although, today was the first time he has said ‘boyfriend’” 

Spencer’s face turned red and he looked down. Derek laughed.

“C’mon, pretty boy, don’t get flustered now.” Derek teased

“See? Even the beefcake thinks you’re pretty!” Roan teased further. A half groan/half laugh escaped Spencer.

“Dr. Spencer Reid.” Emily announced. “Reads Crime and Punishment before breakfast, but can’t form words because of a blue haired boy.” The table laughed, including Spencer.

“I like him!” Spencer exclaimed. “Its a natural human emotion to get flustered.”
