"Flower Tales"

Allows her to summon any type of flower petal or leaf, and manipulate them, such as making them like razors and making them swarm the opponent. Prefers to use Sakura petals, or lily flowers.

Definitely Port Mafia, and since it's Nobuko Yoshiya's works, I imagine probably has a one sided lesbian crush on her superiors like Koyo.

Sugaru Miaki

"Pain, Pain, Go Away"

While not a deceased author like the rest of BSD, I like their works so idc.

God this one's confusing....

She can "postpone" events based on their severity, and can create ripples in time as a result, since everything reverts leaving people only with memories.

Example is better than explanation here.

Let's say Miaki gets injured, and would be incapacitated, but she postpones the injury, and in the meantime does some shit, like kills someone, after the event can't be "postponed", everything reverts, the perosn she killed is alive once more, because she originally would've been injured and couldn't have done it. Granted the victim would still remember it, so whatever info she gains with it wouldn't be useless so long as it wouldn't have changed due to her influence.

This ability works best in fanfics that would have a shit ton of planning, not rp material lol

"Silence"

Can obscure information or hide it, more intangible things like memories, like changing and obscuring someones motives, beliefs. Kinda like the brainwashing thing going on with Hawthorne.

Christian originally, but uses his ability on himself to hide it lol.

Could be a good recruiter or infiltrator considering he can make someone "silence" their own core values.

Mitsuharu Kaneko

"Song of a jellyfish"

He can sense sound waves and vibrations, pretty simple, he can't manipulate theme necessarily. But he can use the sound waves and vibrations to infer things like when someones approaching, so no ambushes, or things like someones heart rate to infer when someones lying. Kinda like how transparent jellyfishes are interperated as mans "soul" or whatever bullshit poets are on, his ability can be used for that lie detector stuff

Plan to do some more, maybe draw some of these, especially Miaki Sugaru. I like doing Japanese authors to not only stay on theme, but cause I find more niche ones than the typical Western authors. Maybe I'll look for some more obscure Western authors but also look into other cultures like Spanish, cause Don Quixote was pretty fun to write ideas for ^ロ^

Maybe I'll do some more casual ideas like Dante Alighieri being biblical fanfiction, scratch that, just have one dedicated to the amount of books being biblical fanfiction, I can go all day. Even a lot of the BSD characters irl studying Christianity like Akutagawa and Kunikida, seriously Akutagawa's confrontation with Hawthorne could've been so much banger.

Can manipulate the perception of space and time. Making someone feel like they're trapped in a clausterphobic room for hours, spoiler alert they've been there for 5 mins. No suprise in a real fight he gets his ass kicked if he can't utilize the space to disorientate his opponent. He does love stalling for time by allowing whatever rant or discussion, seem like 5 minutes, really took 5 hours.

literally only read that book cause the My House.WAD Doom mod was appearently inspired off of it.

He can pull anything out of his hat, can use it to transport. He is sadly limited to not knowing what comes out of his hat, nor where it transports him to. It merely does whatever will be the most comedic or ironic. He somehow summons the Book, but cannot summon any writing utensil, etc.

She can summon a bloodhound dog by her side. And can connect her senses with it. Can be used as an attack dog, used to sniff evidence and trace scents.

Now this is stupid, and unnecessary, but for the life of me I cannot RP here without thinking she can only work for the Order of the Clock Tower cause she's bri'ish (my condolences for her btw) I'm imagining she uses the name Saburo Kagami since that's the name of one the translations into Japanese I read Sherlock Holmes and was the first to translate the anthology "Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" into Japanese, if you want to go the whole living in Yokohama route.

I love to imagine she has sight impairment and her bloodhound, dubbed "Watson" is a sight dog.

And considering it irratationally pisses me off how a lot of Sherlock perception like the "Elementary my dear Watson" wasn't in the book when I read it, I will not allow her to follow the Sherlock tropes out of spite.

Kinda like Lucy's ability "Anne of Abyssl Red" it creates a room and entraps her and her targets in a pocket dimension of sorts, but unlike Lucy's being her escapist break from reality, Charlottes is just miserable, and she has no control over it's design or functions towards her, makes a great prison with how damn dingy it is. If Lucy's ability is the ultimate escape from reality, Charlottes is the snap back to reality. It's designed like a liminal space, unlike Lucy's that's a mostly closed off space, I imagine Charlottes is a never ending expanse, with no end in sight.

Yep, just fucking Aesop. No limit to how old the authors I pick go. Considering the amount of fables this fucker wrote, and now way in hell I'm reading any of them, listen everyone read some rehash of Aesop in a childrens book, I ain't doing that.

OP as it is, he can alter reality or create manipulate circumstances, if he can convince the person what he can do is true. He can't necessarily "create" anything, or "alter reality" in any grand way, just has to rely on reasonable scenarios since they have to be believable. Like for example, he isn't saving anyone from Ame No Gozen cause there' no way anyone will actually believe he can do shit. With BSD being full of characters who just read the script (Dazai, Fyodor, Mori, Ranpo you don't get nearly enough screen time) I can't imagine he could do much against them.

I get it, most popular work, kinda boring one to go with but I do not give a flying fuck.

Judging by the "Judges" whole shtick of depravity, and nigh omnipotence, I'm imagining he can see into the future, but it's limited by the scope and morality of the person, someone like Kenji? Probably at most a second or two, if it all cause it's Kenji, someone like say Fukuchi? Probably maybe months of planning ahead. Now to balance this already OP ability, the stipulation is the person has to be aware they're immoral, and doing the wrong thing. Someone like Fyodor who thinks he's doing good? Doesn't work.

Probably joined the Guild just to watch it burn frfr, just an indulgent OC who purely exists to observe and fuck shit up.

While there's plenty to pick fron, a Christmas Carol, Oliver Twist, I wanted to choose this one.

Similiar to Mori, Bella summons her "ideal" partner, John Rokesmith / Harmon. And while we don't know Mori's extent of control over Elise, Bella cannot control John at all, ans he ultimately has his own will even if it coincides with her subconcious goals, that way I can write fun scenarios of them getting royally fucked over by John. Since Bella lives in poverty, a lot of her main goals is just to survive and is vague shit like "I want money to survive" that way John can do it in the worst way possible. Ability that makes your life worse? Yes. Fun to write? Also yes.

(Just feel the need to note this, god I hate the name Bella so damn much, and Isabella too, but I can't in good concious call her Wilfer Dickens or some shit.

Miguel Cervantes

"Don Quixote"

Just a perfect knight in shining armour, generates a suit of armor around him and a sword. He really, really likes his ability. Takes great pride in it. I imagine he's with the transcendents but no one there likes him, and they all think he has a screw loose. VERY VERY MORALS DRIVEN, not in a Kunikida way, more like the Azure King way. Thinks he's the most upstanding noble guy in the world. Overall just the goofy funny man OC when I write too much angst. It'll make the angst all the more potent when he fails and realizes he isn't the infallible knight he thinks he is.

I'll be back with my massive backlog of Japanese author OC's, since I've gotten into more Japanese literature as of late. But for now these are some little snippets.

Ok, I'm convinced at this point that instead of teaching English, schools should just start getting their students into bsd, because honestly, the effects are about the same.

Like, what is this fandom??? As far as anime go, it's sort of known, but it's not even close to mainstream, and then you join the fandom to discover that it's actually huge.

-The fans will write five thousand word analyses, complete with textual evidence, about anything and everything, and they'll all be more well written and deeper than their thematic essay for English class.

-They won't even think twice about reading a bunch of classics to understand their favorite characters, and then they'll happily write you an analysis of a Japanese classic written in the mid-twentieth century and how it connects to their favorite character. They'll casually read Crime and Punishment, a book english teachers have no hope of having their students read in general, let alone for fun, and they'll do it and then give their theories about how it may connect to the villain's powers. They also end up just getting into classic literature in general.

-Ask them to give a summary of the book they had to read, they'll stare at you blankly, but ask them about the chain of abuse vs the savoir chain and you will hear a psychological breakdown on the concept of abuse, and how different characters treat others differently because etc etc etc.

-Not even the top criminal defense lawyer could compete with a bungou stray dogs fan explaining why Chuuya Nakahara, a man who is an executive in the Mafia, a man who has killed many people, has gotten involved in smuggling and all sorts of illegal activities, is actually a good person and deserves all the sunlight and happiness in the world.

-And the art that comes out of it??? The fanfictions, the fanart, the edits- I've read fanfiction that made me feel more than a published book ever will. Seen fanart that belongs in a museum, and the edits are some of the coolest stuff known to man.

-And they're just so low key??? Like seriously, don't teach English, teach bungou stray dogs. You'd get better results that way.

Headcanon: When Adam gets angry he will default to English.

Reasons being:

1) Adam’s supposed to be on a job and he knows he’s supposed to act ‘professionally’ during those. Swearing isn’t generally considered professional behaviour.

2) Chuuya can’t understand him so it doesn’t count 👍🏼 (it does, Chuuya just looks at him like, I don’t know those words but I know that tone.)

3) Swearing at someone in your mother tongue just hits different. And deep down Adam is just a simple lad from London. He knows many creative insults.

Luckily Adam’s pretty good at not being annoyed. That is unless someone insults Chuuya or Dr Wollstonecraft.

please please please I'm clinging on to you by the toes how do you draw your perspectives so deliciously (ty for posting kunizai art too sm btw you're doing our wretched Lord asagiri sensei's work)

U guys flatter me sm but im afraid i do not know how i draw either .. its funny enough to ME that people are saying im good at perspective because i litterally have never been good at it before 😭 ill try to explain as best i can though from my own experience !

My first advice is probably to not worry about anatomy too much; im 100% sure my anatomy is hella off in all my drawings. But in perspective art, u can still somehow make it work with foreshortening!

Especially for parts like arms, i usually just simplify it in 3 parts, the shoulder area, the forearm and the hand - foreshortening can be helped a lot by the folds of the clothes, so you can kind of still create a border to differentiate the parts of the body. And feel free to simplify the anatomy etc. And also embrace more "cartoonish" shapes- i draw a lot of weirdly curved legs but it works for a more dynamic-looking piece (i think)

Next would be to think of the art piece in terms of shapes. And also to not be afraid of using curved lines instead of straight ones

Using curved lines for areas that are too close or too far seem to work best for me in creating a sort of fish-eye lense that makes the background look warped, but dynamic!

Next, my favorite shape in terms of composition would be triangles. Especially for perspective top-down poses, it really gives you a general shape that the body could take based on that view

For compositions, i like it because i think it works well for balance, it has a very strong shape and works for visualizing foreground, middle ground, and background (the largest part (base) is closest to the viewer, the farther it goes the smaller the object gets). It prpbably helps if you have those point perspective ruler stuff that comes with some art apps. Also i use ibis and i sometimes use the transform tool to stretch or reshape a part until it flows better in the composition.

In terms of color, i usually work darker to lighter, from foreground to background. Darker objects nearer to the front and lighter objects at the back work a lot better for depth since the ones closer are more in focus and detailed while the lighter the object gets the more it seems to "fade" away.

Anyways i am certainly no professional and to be honest, most of this is me getting an idea or picture in my head that i go through trial and error to execute so i still advise you all to search up guides or references (i look for a lot of ideas on pinterest) and have fun ! If you still have questions, i will do my best to reply

You wrap it in parchment paper or the wrap it is in when you buy it. You fill a bowl with lukewarm water, and then you put the block of butter in the parchment paper in the water for 5-15 minutes. The wrapper will be wet and the butter room tempature.
