"Not the time." Michael grumbled but it did little to get Sitri off of him. The archangel frowned, going to shove him before those slender arms wrapped around his neck, Gabriel's face giving him a pout.
"You always say that!" Those fluffy white wings puffed up in irritation, blue eyes staring with such intensity even the leader of the archangels had to avert his gaze. He let the documents in his hands fall on the round table, sighing as he allowed the younger angel to snuggle up against him.
Soft... Despite all the similarities, the same face, the same inherited powers... Sitri was different from Gabriel in a number of ways. His softness was definitely one of them. Even with her blade in his arms, Sitri always felt soft to Michael. He wasn't sure if it was any one specific thing that made him seem that way, or a combination of many different factors. Sitri's scent was like lilies, like Gabriel's, but sweeter. His eyes carried a certain innocence and a pure desire to be loved. Maybe that was what drew him to the boy in the first place.
Now those very eyes met his once again, Sitri's cute face tilting adorably to the side like it always did when he had a question. He didn't voice it, but Michael could about guess what he was thinking anyway. "Nothing. I was just thinking you're too soft."
It wasn't entirely a lie; he just purposely phrased it in a way that wasn't the most flattering. Whether it was to see Sitri's face scrunch up in a lightly offended grimace or to watch the irritated way his wings twitched was anyone's guess. Michael chuckled, folding his arms around the angel in his lap, not allowing him to get up to leave.
"You're always such a bully..." Sitri whined, but he settled his head on Michael's shoulder, closing his eyes. Warm. Soft, sweet, and warm. That was Sitri. He was comforting and, in a way, Michael wanted to comfort him back. He wasn't great at it, but perhaps the one silver lining in Sitri's situation prior to coming home was that he could be very forgiving when Michael's displays of affection were less than stellar.
The archangel pressed his lips to Sitri's forehead, drawing a happy purr from him. "Alright, I apologize." He finally allowed himself to properly relax as well. The paperwork could wait a little bit. "I'll make sure to set some time aside for you in my schedule."
"You better." Sitri's voice was already fading. It was sort of impressive how quickly he could fall asleep. Not that Michael minded it of course. "If you don't... I'll have to bother you like this... again..."
"Sure." Michael would laugh if that didn't risk stirring Sitri from his drowsiness. "Because you're always such a bother."

SO SO SO GOOOOOD
THANK YOU SO MUCHHHHHHH 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Important work
Prompt:
Tumblr media
The tea was good enough but Amon's eyes kept drifting elsewhere. Namely, to the boy sitting across from him, sipping from his own cup and looking all refined and so. damn. cute. They haven't taken human forms in centuries, so he'd forgotten the details of Mamon's appearance. Namely, the way his cheeks chubbed up when he took a bite of the desserts they bought to go with the tea, the small twitches in his hair, remnants of their bat ears, how his eyes sparkled at the delicious scone melting on his tongue...
Amon leaned over the table, tilting Mamon's head to look at him, and Mamon, the tease that he was, leaned right into that touch, closing his eyes with a soft smile. The dark-haired demon felt overwhelmed at the sight. So damn adorable! And he was the demon of love, so ignoring it would just go against his nature.
He pulled Mamon over closer, gushing over him as he patted his hair, peppering kisses all over his face. Mamon giggled, and that only made the whole thing even more stimulating. Amon's fangs snagged on the slightly flushed skin of Mamon's cheek, gently biting on it. It was soft and plump, reminding him of mochi or one of those Slavic filled pastries. He didn't bite hard, just enough to make sure Mamon would feel it. A squeal responded to him, followed by a happy chitter.
"You... You're so darn cute-!" He mumbled, fingers curling in Mamon's hair and ruffling it more harshly, pulling gently. And when he received no struggle in return, he only redoubled his efforts.
Another posh chuckle and Mamon was suddenly returning the favor, squishing his cheeks with his hands and rubbing their noses together. "You are aware we have the same face, right~? Are you just trying to flatter yourself?"
"We aren't completely the same though, are we?" Amon responded to the tease in kind, sliding his hands from Mamon's hair and to his neck, pressing down on the pulse point there and delighting in the soft gasp it made Mamon let out. "For example, you are much more sensitive here~. I remember that much even now."
"Perhaps so," Mamon recovered quickly, resting a knee on the table and pressing it against Amon's thigh, "and you are here~."
The air between them was quickly getting hot and slightly stifling. Still, Amon moved his leg, Mamon's knee pressing a little bit higher. "Actually, it's up here~ Maybe I should re-teach you how to love properly?"
A hand suddenly landed on the table next to them, a tall shadow falling over their forms. "AMON! MAMON! Either help me out or get lost!" Dantalion was probably still pissed they didn't let him enjoy the War of Roses with the Elector. Although... they did get a bit carried away. Amon glanced beneath them at the now crumpled piece of paper. Some important business, no doubt.
But before he could do the responsible thing and offer his help, there was a pull at his hand. Mamon had already got off the table, tugging him along as he winked. "Let us not bother master Dantalion now. He has important duties that really cannot wait anymore. And you... well, you've got some teaching to do~."

Ep. 7 additional analysis

Machu and Nyaan's character analysis
(up to ep6)
(This may be messy and sometimes repetitive, but I’m writing it in the middle of the night and it has been a while since I last wrote something like this, but I hope you appreciate it nonetheless.)
I decided to sit down and pick up my metaphorical pen again to write what basically turned into an analytical essay about Machu and Nyaan—because Gundam Gquuuuuux has reignited my love for character analysis, especially after episodes 4 and 5. So let’s dive right in.
-
Machu and Nyaan are two central characters in the anime Gundam Gquuuuuux, each embodying unique aspects of identity, self-discovery, and transformation. Their development is intricately linked to their interactions with each other, the influence of Shuji, and their search for freedom in a world full of limitations and expectations. At the core of their narratives, Machu and Nyaan grapple with their own desires, vulnerabilities, and the concept of growth through adversity. Their narrative intertwines themes of survival, emancipation, and self-assertion, forming two complex and deeply human female portraits. Although both seek freedom, their motivations, methods, and obstacles are radically different. In this analysis, we will delve into their psychological and emotional evolution, the symbolic roles they represent, and how their experiences mirror broader themes of alienation, identity, and self-liberation.
Tumblr media
The Struggle for Freedom
Nyaan embodies freedom as a primary necessity, not an abstract desire. Raised in conditions of extreme hardship, her existence is marked by deprivation and danger. In this context, freedom takes on an immediate value: to live without fear, to gain basic rights, to earn a dignified life. Every action she takes is filled with risk, as failure could cost her everything. She cannot choose her path lightly: every step toward a better life is a gamble. Nyaan doesn’t hesitate to protect herself, even at the cost of killing or shielding herself with the Red Gundam (even though she had faith in Shuji’s abilities).
Machu, on the other hand, comes from a wealthy family and lives in an orderly world, governed by strict and suffocating expectations. Her freedom is more abstract: she does not have to survive, but to truly live. She feels trapped in a life that, while materially secure, seems empty. Her rebellion stems from a need to find meaning in a life that is too planned and devoid of true stimulation. For her, freedom is a rejection of convention, it is existential liberation: she wants to shake off the invisible bonds of her privileged world.
Love and Friendship
For Machu, love for Shuji and friendship with Nyaan become spaces for emotional expression and self-discovery. Through these relationships, she seeks authenticity and passion. Romantic feelings become an act of rebellion and identity construction: she wants to experience something that breaks with her family’s narrative of perfection and control. Love is not a refuge but a possibility for rebirth and transformation.
For Nyaan too, friendship and love is a central theme, but it holds a different meaning: it is tied to protection, belonging, and the chance to feel safe in a world that has never granted her anything. Her feelings are rooted in the need for stability, she sees Shuji as someone to rely on—or even use—strategically to survive or an example of what even a poor girl like her can maybe achieve and someone who she can genuinely bond with that shares her own struggles.
Inner Conflicts and Character Development
The differences between the protagonists create tensions and misunderstandings. Despite her privileged background, Machu develops a form of jealousy toward Nyaan, who seems more capable of achieving results, and “mattering” to the group. When Machu discovers that Nyaan could replace her in the Clan Battles, she feels useless, as if her only contribution—money and being Shuji’s Mav—are no longer valued.
Her emotional reaction is also fueled by the realization that Nyaan is gaining a central role not only in the group but also in Shuji’s life. Machu’s jealousy is twofold: she fears being excluded from both friendship and romantic connection. This is compounded by the confusion of her first crush and her struggle to understand and manage her emotions maturely. She feels she is losing the only fragment of true freedom she has ever had: the chance to form real relationships and live a fuller life, it’s also a normal feeling for someone experiencing her first crush. This generates feelings of possessiveness and emotional confusion that influence her behavior. However, this jealousy isn’t baseless or malicious: it reflects her fear of losing something she has only just begun to understand. Machu is on a path toward a new self, but she is still fragile, uncertain, inexperienced. The comparison with Nyaan—more grounded and decisive—intensifies her insecurities.
Tumblr media
Idealizing Shuji
Another fundamental element is how both girls perceive Shuji. They idealize him, avoiding a deeper knowledge of who he really is. This is a common emotional defense mechanism, especially during early romantic experiences: one prefers to imagine the other as perfect rather than risk disillusionment. It’s not a lack of affection—it’s a way to protect oneself from emotional vulnerability.
Machu is especially drawn to the mystery Shuji represents and the thrill being with him causes her and her adventures withnhim. Having grown up on Side 6, a peaceful planet free of conflict, Machu has led a predictable life, her curious and restless nature pushes her toward the unknown, the risky, the different. Clan Battles are not just a way to earn money—they’re a rush of adrenaline that makes her feel truly alive and this is possible thanks to Shuji. He becomes, for her, the personification of the intense and authentic life she has always yearned for. Even though she realizes she barely knows him, she sees him as the symbol of a freedom she’s never experienced, and for that reason, she idealizes him.
Tumblr media
The Desire for an Authentic Life
Machu does not simply want to escape boredom—she wants to build a real, meaningful life. Her wish to go to Earth and see a real sky and sea is emblematic: she wants to break free from her sheltered life and experience the real world. Her mother, consumed by work, seems oblivious to her daughter’s needs, deepening Machu’s sense of alienation. Her relationships with Shuji and Nyaan become the most authentic parts of her life, and her desire to contribute to the group stems from this deep longing.
Machu and Nyaan represent two sides of the same coin: a fight for freedom expressed in opposite yet complementary ways. One seeks stability, the other authenticity. One fights to survive, the other to truly live. Their paths intersect and clash, generating deep, complex, and realistic dynamics. In a world that often simplifies female roles, these two protagonists offer a multifaceted, intense, and authentic portrayal of the human desire for freedom, belonging, and identity.
Undressing as a Metaphor for Self-Discovery and Female Adolescence
The nudity scene in Episode 4, in which Machu and Nyaan imitate Shuji by undressing, is a pivotal moment in both their personal development and their relationship. This scene is rich in symbolic meaning, representing a moment of emotional exposure and the shedding of past identities. The motif of undressing carries a deeper metaphorical resonance tied to adolescence and the search for the self. It recalls the process of discovering one’s own sexuality, relationship with the body, emotional intimacy, and boundaries. For young women in particular, this stage of life often involves experimentation and comparison, trying to understand who they are in relation to others—especially those they admire, desire, or envy. For Machu, the act is a profound gesture of vulnerability and inner transformation. While Nyaan embraces the act quickly and almost instinctively, Machu hesitates (symbolic detail is the little robot worrying about Machu’s nudity—a visual metaphor for the boundaries that still separate her from true freedom. It’s as if the universe itself is warning her: “If you go beyond this point, there’s no turning back.”). Her initial shock and reluctance to undress highlight her internal conflict—the tension between the desire for liberation and the fear of stepping outside the safety of societal expectations.
Nudity here is not merely physical; it serves as a metaphor for emotional and psychological exposure. Both girls are attempting to strip away the layers imposed by upbringing, trauma, and social conditioning. For Machu, this act becomes a test of how far she is willing to go to discover and affirm her true self. It is a moment of questioning—about her own limits, her fears, and the identity she is still constructing, but some aspects of her life and upbringing are rooted in her and are difficult to shake off, for example the need to fold neatly her clothes that becomes a metaphor of those parts of her life she has a hard time moving on from.
Nyaan, in contrast, undresses with a kind of intuitive boldness. This marks a key difference between the two: Nyaan acts first and processes later, while Machu is still more hesitant aboutcertain things before taking any step toward change, she needs someone to make the first move and then she follows them, for example the scene when she realizes that killing is inevitable for what she wants to achieve. Yet Nyaan’s action isn’t necessarily born from confidence. On the contrary, as someone who has of been forced to adapt quickly for survival, she may feel a deeper urgency to match the boldness of those around her—especially Machu and Shuji. Early in the series, Nyaan is portrayed as more reserved and cautious, even timid when faced with danger or unfamiliar experiences. Her choice to undress may be a way of proving to herself that she belongs—that she is not weak, that she is capable of matching the intensity of those she admires. Both Machu and Nyaan experience a strong attraction to Shuji, but the nature of their feelings is different. Machu approaches the attraction from a romantic and existential perspective—Shuji becomes the symbol of a new, passionate, and meaningful life. For Nyaan, the attraction is a bit less clear, her desire is entangled with her deep emotional bond with Machu, who may be the first true friend she’s ever had. For Nyaan, understanding Shuji means understanding someone who has captivated her friend so completely. There’s admiration, curiosity, and perhaps even a desire to grasp what makes someone so magnetic in the eyes of another. Nyaan also sees in Shuji a kind of strength and self-assurance that she herself is striving toward. In many ways, both girls are using their relationship with Shuji as a mirror through which they reflect their own insecurities, hopes, and questions about identity.
By imitating Shuji, the girls are not just copying his actions; they are trying to understand him, or perhaps more accurately, to understand themselves through him. Yet neither of them can truly comprehend Shuji, because he remains distant, emotionally elusive, and cloaked in mystery. Deep down, they may not even want to fully understand him. There is a kind of protective distance in their idealization: to truly get to know him might mean discovering that he is not as strong, free, or fascinating as he appears—and that realization could shatter the fantasies that have become so important to their personal growth.
Thus, their imitation of Shuji becomes a form of exploration—a gesture toward something unknown, an attempt to map their emerging identities through the image of someone they don’t fully understand and, perhaps, don’t truly want to understand. The nudity, the vulnerability, the mimicry—these are all part of a symbolic rite of passage. Each act is less about Shuji himself and more about the girls’ internal journey toward maturity, authenticity, and self-acceptance.
Tumblr media
Symbolism of the Jellyfish and the Medusa and Kira-Kira
The imagery of the jellyfish plays a significant symbolic role in Machu’s character arc. She expresses a desire to become like a jellyfish—a creature that embodies fluidity, resilience, and adaptability. The jellyfish symbolizes the flow of life, the ability to drift with the current, to face challenges gracefully without rigid form. This sharply contrasts with Machu’s previous existence, which is defined by emotional stagnation and routine. Her fascination with the Medusa reflects a deep yearning for transformation: to escape the rigid structures of her daily life and embrace something more dynamic and genuine. This desire isn’t just external—it stems from a need to break free from internal constraints, from her own emotional limitations.
Machu’s relationship with the jellyfish reflects her internal struggle to adapt to change. Like a jellyfish, she must learn to navigate emotional complexity, balancing her longing for adventure with a need for stability. The oceanic symbolism evokes vastness and mystery, echoing her desire to explore a deeper, more authentic connection to the world—something she’s never truly experienced.
More specifically, the Medusa represents the passage of time and the rhythm of life itself—its current, its transformations, and the capacity to adapt and endure. This symbolism carries deep relevance for Machu. Her life, prior to meeting Nyaan and Shuji or becoming involved in the Clan battles, is nearly static. Without these disruptions, she would simply attend school with other students, possibly experience minor excitements like winning a lottery prize, go home, wait for her mother to return from work, and eventually find a job.
But this is not the life Machu truly desires. Deep down, she yearns for a dynamic, ever-changing existence—one filled with adventure, emotional intensity, and growth. She craves a life that demands flexibility, where she is constantly challenged to evolve and learn. Her longing to be like a jellyfish reflects this internal drive: she wants to drift with life’s currents, rather than remain anchored in monotony.
Machu’s resilience and adaptability manifest clearly in the choices she makes. She quickly embraces the idea of fighting alongside the Gundams, despite the risks, and almost instinctively forms bonds with Nyaan and Shuji. These actions reveal not just spontaneity, but a hunger for authentic connection and meaningful change. Rather than seeing her stable life as fulfilling, she experiences it as confining—emotionally barren and devoid of purpose. Her symbolic aspiration to “become a jellyfish” is her way of articulating the desire to escape those limitations.
Despite having a seemingly decent life—she attends a reputable school, has a mother who cares for her, and lives in relative comfort—Machu suffers from a quiet, persistent malaise. Some might see contradiction in this, but it is entirely coherent. She has friends, but they are not truly close; she gets along with her mother, but lacks deep emotional intimacy. She writes “jellyfish” as her career aspiration not out of whimsy, but because she cannot envision a future for herself—she is disconnected from the idea of adulthood, from the linear expectations placed upon her.
Her feelings of entrapment stem from a sense of being fundamentally misunderstood. She is fascinated by Earth, by the notion of a “real sky” and a “real sea,” by the idea of touching something vast and unfiltered. The Clan Battles represent more than war—they offer her a path toward intensity, freedom, and purpose. Her reactions to Nyaan and Shuji are shaped by this same yearning: they are unpredictable, emotional, and untethered from the sterile world she comes from. They disrupt the monotony of her life in profound ways.
Her connection to Shuji is especially significant. Both of them are Newtypes, and this shared identity creates a unique bond. Also, the moment she accompanies Shiiko to the train station and reflects, “She’s so different from my mom,” reveals Machu’s desire to encounter people who challenge her worldview and offer alternative models of connection and strength.
Finally, the “kira-kira” moment, apart from something connected to the nature of Newtypes, can also be analyzed from an emotional and psychological moment of great significance—when she feels an overwhelming euphoria while interacting with Shuji—is a sensory and emotional culmination of her inner transformation. It is described as if she is submerged in a colorful ocean, surrounded by radiant energy and light. This moment is more than aesthetic: it marks the awakening of her emotional self, a vivid contrast to her earlier apathy. Through this sparkling, almost synesthetic experience, Machu feels truly alive for the first time, unconfined by the limits of her former life.
Thus, the medusa, the sea, and the kira-kira together form a symbolic triad in Machu’s development: representing her longing for change, her capacity for resilience, and her gradual journey toward emotional and existential freedom.
Tumblr media
Ep.6
We have better evidence that Machu suffers from the lack of genuine emotional bonds and doesn’t know how to handle her anger. She suffers both from closeness and distance with her friends, and she suffers from the absence of her mother. Their group is almost like a family for both Machu and Nyaan, but Machu feels excluded. She is angry and terrified at the thought of proving herself useless to Nyaan and Shuji, and it eats away at her that Nyaan, on her first try, managed to outshine all of Machu’s previous battles, further threatening her position in the group and deeply wounding her pride.
The idea of “swimming on land” returns, which references the jellyfish—and her mother doesn’t understand it. Machu is walking a path that her mother cannot follow, just as her mother never chases after her. When you swim, there are no roads to follow—you can go wherever you want, with complete freedom of movement. Machu also doesn’t have a clear idea on what she wants for herself aside from freedom and thrill, on the contrary we learn that Nyaan actually has clear dreams, as shown by the bookshelf in her room where there is the red book of Zeon University of Technology.
As a friend made me realize, in this episode we learn more about Nyaan, she might possibly be developing deeper feelings for Shuji as well as Machu, since she blushes because of his compliment and interest in her while she is preparing what I think are gyoza for her both Shuji and Machu, since they were waiting for the latter arrival. Also, she is really sad when she realizes Machu is really upset because of her, and the fact the first thing Nyaan did after the battle was sharing how happy she was of finally be able to understand the kira-kira Machu told her about. I hope that the relationship between Machu and Nyaan will be more developed after they realize that there's no point in being jealous of each other and that nobody will be left behind because there are genuine feelings between them, and maybe will see Machu prioritizing Nyaan as much as she already does with Shuji.
I'm cheering for a poly development, will see, fingers crossed đŸ€žđŸ»
Tumblr media
I’ve also noticed that Machu is always upside down when she’s at home or in any environment connected to her ordinary life, as a symbol of the fact that she has completely different expectations from those around her and feels like a fish out of water.
At the end Machu feels guilty because she has put her new friends—and her only chance to live the way she desires—at risk. She feels that her place is inside the Gundam, and she finds comfort in its cockpit.

I completely agree, I hope we'll see more fanfics about this ship
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I say with conviction that Cielinde will become the most popular kuroshitsuji ship involving Ciel today, now that we are going to have the Green Witch arc animated. For those who don't like comship/darkship like Sebaciel and Ciellizzy or don't see chemistry in these ships, Cielinde will be extremely viable, not to mention that Ciel can be himself around Sullivan without worrying about pretending to be R!Ciel because she's never met R!Ciel, Sullivan knows he has a contract with a demon, she's a child who was forced to mature quickly and suffered physical and mental abuse which makes them identify and understand each other's pain, she's extremely intelligent so the two could have conversations outside of the banality about deeper and more strategic things, she owes her life to him so she would never betray him or leave him behind (like a certain blonde) and aesthetically speaking the two complement each other as a Victorian gothic couple, it's beautiful to see the two together and she would be extremely useful as Countess Phantomhive, socially speaking and also in terms of strength. Socially because Queen Victoria is extremely close to her, and strength because Sullivan is so intelligent that she can defend Ciel using her investigations as well as help him unravel the cases of the queen's guard dog, something she did in the manga in the blood collection arc.

You could say that being bit by a Kaiju was inevitable.
Everyday, going out and defending the public from them is your job and it always comes with risks. Hell, your arm was nearly chomped off yesterday if you weren’t quick enough to dodge right then and there.
Scratches, bruises, scars—all were familiar and just part of the job. It hurts, it stings, it stays with you until you do so much fighting you can just brush it off as another Tuesday.
They were Kaiju. They didn’t care.
You hiss at the sharp pain on your shoulder, your face giving way to an exasperated expression as you try to finish making breakfast.
That was not from a Kaiju. This one cared.
His teeth are sunk into your skin with enough force to leave yet another lasting mark. You can feel Hoshina smile against you before he pulls off, pressing small pecks to the dents and priding himself in feeling you shiver in his arms.
“You’re an animal,” you say, pushing an egg onto his plate but don’t make a move out of his arms. His bare chest is warm and you want nothing more than to fall back to sleep at the feeling. But that would mean commending his actions and his head is big enough as is.
“Am I, sweetheart?” Hoshina’s voice is low and gravely from sleeping so deeply only minutes before he decided to insert himself into your personal space. His hands trail delicately along your waist as he noses along the column of your neck, “Ya never push me away so I bet yer lovin’ it
”
You don’t say anything and he takes that as your answer, chuckling when you huff. He watches as you place the very hot pan down before he begins finding another suitable spot to continue. He settles on the back of your neck and while this time his bite isn’t so sudden, it still stings nonetheless.
“See?” He gently licks at the forming bruise and the lilt in his voice doesn’t go unnoticed. “It’s a lil too late and I know ya said I couldn’t leave anythin’ while you work, but please? Can’t let my girl go without a few more.”
Weighing out the options in your head, you realize you could never say no to him. So for the rest of the day you sport new red accessories that feel itchy underneath your gear.

Okonogi is a good friend of yours and she, along with the rest of the Third and at your own station, knew of yours and Hoshina’s relationship.
Your presence at the Third Division base wasn’t expected but was certainly not unwelcome from the multitude of members coming up and asking for tips or an autograph (Iharu was guilty of this and received a plethora of pushups as punishment). But your reason for being there was a secret to them.
“What are you doing here?” The familiar glare on her glasses catches your eyes first. Despite having your title, you were friends first and foremost so the flick to your forehead wasn’t a surprise.
“Ow! What the hell?” She only motions you out of her chair and places her items that you only shifted around in the mission of finding a pen to make some doodles to leave there for her to find. “Is it a crime to want to see my friend from time to time?”
Okonogi sighs but there’s no annoyance on her face upon seeing you again. It had been a while since you’ve talked in person but you supposed a time outside of work would’ve been better. If anything, you took the opportunity to tag along with your station’s operations leader and members to head to third.
Sora pokes his head in, still starstruck being in the presence of your friend while simultaneously being the professional he was. “Miss Okonogi? Do these numbers look right?” She stands up from her chair and walks over to him, hovering over his shoulder and giving pointers.
You take the opportunity to sit in her chair yet again and swivel around, looking at all the monitors and suits in the room below the control area. Feeling the stare of the third’s operation members beside you, you turn your head and greet them.
“Welcome to our base, Commander!” One of the younger ones says and you laugh at his enthusiasm. You were about to say something until you felt a rather unexpected sting on the top of your right ear. Immediately, you cover it only to have your hand caught by the culprit.
“Yes, welcome Miss Commander.” Hoshina has that grin he always bears and the surrounding third members avert their gazes upon the situation their Vice-Commander has created. Okonogi and Sora watch from the side, unimpressed with what was about to unfold yet again.
You hadn’t had the chance to tell him you were visiting as you thought it would be the day you could surprise him. He had been in training with one of the newer recruits so it wouldn’t hurt to visit and sneak up on him. So imagine your own when he did it instead?
“Sosh—Vice Commander Hoshina, what are you doing?” He only shrugs and stands back up, smiling oh so innocently.
“Nothing really.” And he just up and walks out of the room, leaving you in a flustered mess. You couldn’t even face the eyes on you and the look of unamusement from Okonogi.
The way back to your division’s building was full of teasing remarks while Hoshina felt no shame at all in the confines of his office.

Narumi Gen is the Commander of the First Division. The strongest soldier with the eyes of the oldest numbered Kaiju. Narumi Gen is also the bane of your existence.
“I didn’t come all this way for you to shit on me!”
"Well, if you didn’t play so shit, maybe I wouldn’t!”
You’re both cooped up in your apartment away from the outside world, and with him barging in on your day off, you had no choice but to let him in at his persistence. That and with the threat of losing your BS5 to him after his own miraculously broke.
You roll your eyes when he sticks his tongue out at you but quickly return them to the game at hand. It was 2-1, best out of five with you in the lead for keeping the console you so definitely paid for, but your car was miles behind it and it was already the last lap. Gen was radiating smugness from beside you and you couldn’t even reprimand him for it when he passed the finish line with ease, not even giving you time to throw that last blue shell for the hell of it.
“Why’d you play so shit?” If you weren’t such close friends.
“Shut up.” You groan and stand up to refill your glass before the final round.
“Get mine, too.”
“No.” He knows you don’t mean it when you’ve already grabbed his cup so he’s content with pulling out his phone and posting a story about his victory. Stepping into the kitchen, you pull open the fridge door for the juice. As you’re pouring both cups, there’s a knock on your front door.
You place everything back and leave the cups on the counter as you go to answer it and your mood shifts when you see him.
Hoshina’s holding up bags of snacks with a wide smile that you can’t help but kiss him. He reciprocates and you would’ve spent more time there if not for the annoyance in your background.
“Come on, I gotta be back before 10 or Hasegawa’s gonna be on my ass!”
“Good!” Hoshina chuckles and closes the door behind him, following you back into the living room as you bring the drinks. And right at the site of him, Gen shoots up from the floor and points at Hoshina.
“Hey, what is this asshole doing here?”
“Nice to see you, too!”
Gen’s eye twitches and he gulps down the entirety of his juice. You’re in the background looking through the bags Hoshina brought with the knowledge of their one-sided rivalry. See, before you even got together with Hoshina, Gen would talk your ear off about how much he hated the guy and you prepared yourself for the worst for if you ever had to meet him.
Well, that backfired for your friend.
They continue to bicker until you wave around your controller, catching both of their attentions, “Wrap up your cat fight so I can win.” Gen gives a final scowl and sits on the couch for the finale. Hoshina, in a mindful attempt to give the other more space, sits on the floor between your legs, his back leaning on the couch with his cheek resting on your thigh.
The race starts and it’s a map you’re not so good with. That’s already a disadvantage on top of it being one of Gen’s favorites. The race goes on and the closest you can get is 2nd with Gen reining in at 1st for the last few laps. You click your tongue and hope that one of the blocks would give you some sort of miracle item.
Hoshina watches as you get so close to becoming first and immediately loses it once you turn a corner, feeling the frustration from behind him. The first thought that comes to mind might have not seemed beneficial in the moment, but it would kill two birds with one stone. Or, well, three.
He turns his head just a little bit and bites your leg. You make a noise and distract your friend beside you who can see what’s happening in his peripherals.
“What the hell? Don’t do that when I’m right here!” That’s just enough time for Gen to miss his last drift and allow you to pass him right as the finish line comes into view. Gen sees this and curses under his breath, throwing his held item he manages to get in the middle of it all (a blue shell, figures) to stop you in your tracks.
Though, he didn’t expect the boombox you’ve been saving.
Suffice to say Hoshina’s plan did the three things he accounted for: getting you out of that frustration, annoying Gen, and satisfying himself.
You were just happy you got to keep your BS5 for that week and Gen wished his eyes could’ve told him what was going to happen.

With the job comes a busy schedule, but at least the nights were for you two alone.
It’s humid in the bedroom but neither of you cared amidst the hushed gasps shared. Despite being far from the station it seemed that these quiet habits were hard to break thanks to a certain someone.
Your eyes are glazed over and Hoshina places a hand on your face to keep your attention on him. “Tired out?” You hum into his palm but shake your head. You can feel him shift inside you, slowing his movements to make sure you were there.
“Just a ‘lil more, please?” Hoshina crumbles under your words and what kind of lover would he be if he didn’t indulge you? He kisses you softly before running his hands down to your hips, lifting them up slightly and you sigh at the adjustment. “Soshiro!”
“I got you, darlin’, relax f’me.” It's hard when his words fire you up more than you’d like, but for him to continue you had to oblige. Soft caresses on your skin and whispers of sweet nothings in your ear brings you so, so close.
But it’s not enough.
His pace is slower this round, him being mindful of how many times you’d come already but he’s also holding himself back and you can see. Through the tears in your eyes you look up and see the sweat on his face, his neck, and dripping down his chest. He’s straining, veins prominent in his neck and arms are telling.
Lifting your arms up you wrap them around his neck, pulling him down and burying your face into his shoulder.
“Faster, please. Soshi—“ You can’t even get his name out as he’s already fulfilling your wishes. Your moans are right in his ear, driving him to reach both of your climaxes as soon as possible. It’s been hours since you first hit the bed and the feeling never gets old. Especially when he finds that spot in you that has you seeing white, and especially when he releases his warmth soon after yours.
The feeling’s too much, your nails scratching down his back and your body shaking from the last of the night. It’s right there in front of you and before you know it, you’ve latched your teeth onto his shoulder. A hybrid of a whine and moan escapes him with surprise as he tries to ride out the aftermath.
“O-Oh, shit.” He chuckles and his hips stutter, “That’s dirty, sweetheart. Not fair for ya to be doin’ that.” You release him and lay back onto the mattress and with the energy you have left, you look at him again. You wish you could remember the view forever.
Hoshina’s covered in the sheen of sweat, either just his or both of yours, and there’s a sly smile on his face. His crimson eyes are right on you with the most mischievous yet adoring look in them—the color of which matches the liquid seeping from the mark you just left.
“Wait, baby, you’re bleeding—“ You feel weak and disoriented but still have half the mind to try and reach to the bedside table for a tissue, but he catches you by the wrist.
Hoshina presses a kiss to the inside of your palm and settles you back onto the sheets, “Don’t worry about it, I can tell ya like lookin’ so enjoy it a lil more.” He lets go of your arm and leans down to place a light kisses to your neck, suckling on the soft skin he can reach. You were already teetering on the edge of sleep and his ministrations were aiding in that.
Your arms come up to pull him down to you and he doesn’t resist. Not like he would’ve anyway.
“Soshiro?”
“Mm?”
“I love you.” Your voice is quiet and you think he doesn’t hear it. But Hoshina starts to smile against your skin and bring you impossibly closer to him. Lifting himself up a bit, he catches your half-lidded gaze.
You always say this after every night you spend together and he never gets tired of it. You couldn’t deny it even if you wanted to, but he cherished you just as much.
“I love ya, too.”
