FNaF World: Sister Location and Pizzeria Simulator finished!
Hey folks! I've had more characters in the works for a while now, and I've finally almost finished this row! Are you excited? I know I am! Let's get into it!
First, I elected to finish off the Sister Location animatronics, with the rambunctious scamps themselves...
The Bidybabs!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With all the wound-up energy of a pair of british schoolchildren, the Bidybabs are a welcome addition to the cast! These were a fun set of characters to make, and like last time, gave me a lot more practice animating multiple characters in one! In terms of animation, I endeavored to express the energy of a couple of silly kids roughhousing. This hurt animation features some walking, and while it is unusual, it was ultimately necessary for encapsulating the wobbliness of their stack. Like with the Minireenas, it was a tough decision whether or not to do an individual or a duo, but I knew it was going to be necessary for them to be a group in order to keep them distinct from the next character...
Electrobab!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This kid scares me. Someone find this kid a hobby. Preferably something non-conductive.
The neglected weird kid of the Sister Location Custom Night group, this overcharged infant is packed full of likely lethal electrical powers can put any pitiable poltergeist in this franchise to shame! Jumpscares? Hallucinations? Possession? That all pales in comparison to Electrobab's capacity for emitting immensely powerful controlled shocks! I guess it learned from how it was raised.
Now that we've finished off Sister Location's cast of oddballs, let's finish off the strange folks from Pizzeria Simulator! First up we have our unforgettable bowl of overcooked ramen...
Molten Freddy!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This noodly feller was quite a bit of fun to make. Rigging up all the wires was tough, but in the end I achieved exactly effect I was going for. And it's just plain fun to watch him go! For the main body, I was going to use a set of rigid bones to make it bend, but after some testing it didn't look very good. Too robotic, not silly enough. That was when I remembered the stretchy bone I'd used for Phone Guy's cord. I gave it a shot, and the resulting stretchy bouncy effect was just what he needed! The hurt animation is a little brutal-looking, but he'll probably be fine. These guys have been murdalized and melted down how many times now? They're troupers, they'll go through a thousand new marketable forms before they're finished!
Since everybody loved one bear so much, how about another Heeeere's...
Lefty!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The surprise puppet-trap himself! Lefty was a fairly simple one, as the character is largely a recolor of Rockstar Freddy. Nonetheless, I tried to give Lefty a distinct personality from Rockstar Freddy as best as I could. The animation direction for this character was very unnatural, disjointed, and jerky; like a dancing beartrap (or puppet-trap, hee-hee). In his hurt animation you can see the Puppet's eyes inside his detached jaw, dizzy from being spun around and stretched. I would be too.
I do not envy Charlie's situation, being stuck inside a robotic bear and forced to burn to death. Oh well, at least the darkest pit of hell is ready to swallow her greatest enemy whole— oh, he got out again? Why do we keep using fire?
Oh well, guess we've got...
Scraptrap!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Designing a cutesy version of this character is a tall, tall order. I did my best, and I think in the end it captures his design pretty well while remaining pretty simplified all-around. It's a little more stylized than I usually like to do, but I can't tell if that's on my part or if that was inherent to the character. He's not the most stylistically consistent of Scott's designs, even in his original FFPS appearance. In terms of animation direction, I decided to animate him like a bit of a cartoon villain. Exaggerated hunched posture, unbridled aggression when attacking, and shocked frustration upon being damaged. Fun animation tidbit, the skull inside his helmet moves its jaw with his. Look closely at his mouth and you can see it. Pretty spooky! Here's a behind the scenes look at his skull. Yikes!
That about does it for the scrap animatronics, though I've got another cooking up for next time, just you wait and see...
To finish us off, here's a remake of my Yenndo hurt animation! I decided the last was too generic!
Tumblr media
Thanks for tuning in as always! I hope to bring you some more neat stuff soon! I'll catch you on the flipside!

FNaF World: Welcome to the Freakshow!
Today I challenged myself to see how many characters I could complete in one day. We've got a lot to cover, so let's get started with...
Scrap Baby!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pizzeria Simulator's iconic wretched dumpster clown!
Some of my finest modeling and animation! Scrap baby was a doozy of a design to try to simplify. She practically has the detail of every Sister Location character combined! Naturally, this proved to be quite the challenge, but in the end it turned out great. The shapes are very smooth and the rigging is exquisite. You can hardly even tell with how swift the animations are, but I was very deliberate with how those little wire-orb things were rigged. They move with the limbs and body to skillfully avoid obvious instances of clipping!
There were lots of hooks and curves involved in the blender process, and it was a meticulous and precarious process, but I managed to pull Scrap Baby together in about three days. After finishing her today, I figured "Hey, why not do a couple more! I have it in me!" And with that, my quest began. The next character(s?) I tackled was...
The Minireena duo!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everyone's favorite claustrophobic nightmare children!
I decided to go with two of them, in reference to Sister Location Custom Night's two different sets of Minireenas, and also because just one would be far too small!
Now these little punks were a delightfully obnoxious design process! I'd never had the (dis)pleasure of working with two separate armatures in one character before this, and it was quite the challenge. But you all know I like a good modeling/animation challenge. It gives the sometimes boring process some novelty!
Sidenote: Minireenas' eyes are kind of weird. They show up only in specific instances, but are absent the rest of the time. Obviously so, as you can see their little endoskeleton in their custom night icon. No eyes! I think Scott just needed a way to make their jumpscares a little more intense, and didn't want to worry about giving them eyes anywhere else. But hey, those beady yellow peepers definitely worked! They're quite the uncanny sight!
Next, we've got the one, the only...
Bonnet!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sister Location Custom Night's very own adorable nuisance!
Remember earlier, when I mentioned how just one Minireena would be too small by itself? There wasn't any getting around it this time. Bonnet is, by all accounts, a palette swap of Bon Bon, but does that hold her back from having her very own identity independent of his? Absolutely not! Bonnet has set herself apart with her signature mosey, her insecurity about her (literal) button nose, and her unnerving ability to maneuver around without the aid of an uncanny, leg-bearing, scary bear companion! (Try saying that five times fast!)
It's a little tough to make a character like this work on their own, but I managed to pull it off, and have somehow produced some of my favorite animations so far. Her big leap is very rabbit-like, and it's pretty natural-looking. Her hurt animation has a little shiver to it, like she's shuddering from discomfort. Her animations managed to be very lifelike, despite the limitations of the character's design.
Next up, in a sort of redundant fashion, we've got...
Lolbit!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The oddball salesman adapted for the screen!
Kind of an odd choice of character, considering Lolbit's already been in FNaF World, but with their breakout roles in Sister Location Custom Night and Ultimate Custom Night since their initial debut, I figured it was prudent to include them. My working theory is that once the story of FNaF World had concluded, Lolbit got bored of hanging around in Animatronica, and decided to find some business elsewhere, winding up with their unforgettable inclusion as a face on a series of screens that forces you to type buttons on your keyboard. Not the most stunning appearance, but hey, it's unique! And it's funding the development of new and better Bytes! Then once their contract expired, Lolbit returned to Animatronica to continue developing Bytes, only to find that new shopkeepers had arrived to take their place. Naturally, this meant Lolbit had only one thing left to do: tag along with the adventurers to find someplace to sell without competition!
In contrast to Funtime Foxy's monstrousness, I gave Lolbit the cheeky, cheerful charisma they've been rocking in every one of their appearances across the franchise. As a result, Lolbit's animations are teeming with callous impudence!
Finally, the character you've all been waiting for, the main attraction, the star of the show... It's:
Gumball Swivelhands!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pizzeria Simulator's shockingly stupendous sweet-supplier!
Bet you weren't expecting this one, were you? Move over Candy Cadet, Gumball Swivelhands is the new star of the candy-dispensing show!
This character was unexpectedly fun to animate, and I adored the opportunity to model its face, but I must say, that expression seems awfully familiar. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it makes me feel a profoundly frustrated sense of déjà vu...
Pizzeria Simulator is chock-full of memorable character designs, and despite its apparent genericity, there's always been something striking to me about Gumball Swivelhands. A concentrated sense of whimsy permeates this character like the suffocating aroma of six different flavors of bubble gum surrounds a gumball machine.
To me, this is what FNaF World is all about! Identifying and celebrating even the strangest corners of Five Nights at Freddy's history! There's a place for iconic, fan-favorite characters, right alongside obscure, sometimes even downright forgettable weirdos like this one! Five Nights at Freddy's is a freakshow, but not one that ridicules its freaks, one that holds them up high with a combination of joy and pride, like a father whose son has won the big sports game. "That's my son!" FNaF says, gesturing to the Eggbaby. "Hooray!" I scream from the bleachers. "Three cheers for these wonderful weirdos! Hip hip, hooray!"
I look forward to whatever I have to share next time. As always, thanks so much for tuning in! I'll catch you on the flipside!

FNaF World: Object characters? Huh?
Sometimes you're put in a situation where you have to model two characters that are, quite frankly, just objects. And sometimes, you choose to bite the bullet and design them both back-to-back! Presenting: Phone Guy and Sanitation Station!
Phone Guy
Designing a character model for the Phone Guy is quite the challenge since he has no visual appearance; but he's an iconic Five Nights at Freddy's character, so I ought to put him in the hypothetical sequel to the game that celebrates the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise. I decided to model a little desk stand based on the one from the first FNaF game, and modeled the phone as a blue vintage landline in reference to his Ultimate Custom Night icon. Here's how it turned out:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(For clarification since it's been a while, top left is the character selection thumbnail, top right is the idle animation, bottom left is the attack animation, bottom right is the "hurt" animation, for when the character is subject to an enemy's attack. This is the process I typically follow for laying out my character animations. Hopefully this format is visible on all versions of this post and won't be inexplicably confusing.)
I'm very proud of it. This sort of "chibi" version of the FNaF 1 desk is kind of cute, in a way. I love the little TVs and the soda cup. There's so much detail on this that can't even be seen, but I don't do this just for practicality; I do it because it's fun, I learn things, and I thoroughly enjoy it! The phone cord has a complex bone setup to allow it to spring properly like a real phone cord does. It's not even visible half the time but it was a ton of fun to set up and it taught me more about armatures and constraints. Anything you make in this software (Blender) is a potential new learning experience. (Especially if you aren't using the ancient 2.79 version like I am.)
Tumblr media
Sanitation Station
At first I felt I was grasping at straws for characters, but the more I thought about adding Sanitation Station, the better the idea started to seem. Maybe I've been consumed by madness, but if you take a look at this goober, you might start to see things from my point of view.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now you may be thinking:
"That one's not even a real character! It's an inanimate object with a face drawn on it! At least Phone Guy has dialog and a personality! Even Trash & The Gang had established actions and personalities in Ultimate Custom Night, but not the Sanitation Station! Why would Sanitation Station be added to the character roster?"
Consider this: the Paper Pals appeared in the original FNaF world, and before that they were only ever depicted as completely static. It wasn't even clear if they were alive or if they were just being moved by the animatronics to mess with you. Sanitation Station actually has an impact on gameplay, which means it has a bigger role than the Paper Pals ever did, and in just one game!
Additionally, I have been adding new defense-based moves to this game concept - something I feel were left unexplored by the original FNaF World - and many of them have to do with safety features. "Threadlockers", "Waterproofing", "Stabilizers", "Repairs", "Bubble Bath" (in reference to the Phone Guy's dialog from FNaF 1), and that's just scratching the surface. The question came to mind: "Who do I give these moves to? Almost every Five Nights at Freddy's character is built around killing you, which one could possibly receive safety-based attacks?" That's where the amazing Sanitation Station comes in! It's a collection of safety items that exists entirely to lower your liability risk in its source material. It's the perfect candidate! And it has a face on it, which makes it a much more reasonable candidate than, say, the automatic security doors. And really, how can you say no to that face?
Additionally, Sanitation Station appears in Ultimate Custom Night, therefore securing it as a recurring character in the franchise, and justifying its position in the FNaF World 2 character roster.

(This is from Ultimate Custom Night, and is not my render.)
As always, thanks for checking out my art, (especially this post in particular, these are not especially popular characters.) I'll catch you on the flipside!

New addition to the Flipside cast: the Favor Puppet!
With a goodie bag full of snacks, toys, and trinkets, the Favor Puppet Gives Life to the Flipside fellas with the Gift of its presence!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have long wanted to do a model of the Marionette in this style because, quite simply, I love the Marionette's minigame sprites, they're adorably uncanny. I based the Favor Puppet's design primarily on its FNaF 2 minigame appearance, with some liberties. I made its cheeks black to give it a sort of mimelike appearance, and I made the tears stream off its face a little in reference to the Puppet's appearance in the FNaF 3 minigame where it appears as an ominous silhouette towering over the player. (Side note, FNaF 3 is an aesthetic gold mine.) Trying to simulate the flowing movements of the Marionette in a rudimentary style like this is difficult, but it turned out great!
As a bonus, here's a new version of the previous Flipside Fellas render with the Favor Puppet now added. Only two more planned characters to go! (I may do more because this style is so fun, but there are only two more with relevance to my actual game concept.)

Back in business with Ennard!
After much toil, here's the amazing Ennard!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ennard is a very complex character so he took quite a while to model, but I appreciate a good challenge. After all the animatronic models I've made, it's nice to work with characters that challenge the status quo. Challenges keep the process feeling fresh. Variety is the spice of life after all. The hard work was very worth it in the end; he turned out great!
The amount of detail this character is able to have while still looking good bodes well for the FFPS animatronics (who I anticipate giving me even more trouble than even the FNaF:SL ones).
I haven't posted in a while as I've been busy with life and some personal projects. I even started working on a sort of (non-FNaF World related) FNaF fangame of my own, but it'll be a while before I can formally share anything about that. I can't say I'll definitely be posting more often because I'd be lying; that's just not the kind of person I am. I work in phases. Quite like the moon. I haven't abandoned this blog, and I hope to have more awesome stuff to share with you all soon!
Thanks for tuning in, catch you on the flipside!

FNaF World: The Funtimes are completed!
After a lot of blood, sweat, and gears, I have finally completed my Adventure versions of the Funtime animatronics!
I completed the first two in my previous posts... Circus Baby (And Bonus Stuff) Funtime Freddy
So I'll only be posting the two I've just completed, starting with Funtime Foxy!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Originally I didn't want to make a new Funtime Foxy, I felt like the original FNaF World's Funtime Foxy stood on its own. However, after some careful consideration, I realized that the one from the original game didn't have hurt animations, as that's a liberty I alone have taken. In order to give Funtime Foxy a hurt animation, I was already going to have to recreate them anyway, so I figured I might as well overhaul them to better fit their actual design. I now consider FNaF World's Funtime Foxy to be specifically a "fixed mangle" incarnation, and not representative of the Sister Location character.
And now - last, but not least - Ballora!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, normally I don't particularly care for Ballora's design. She's kind of a misfit when compared to the other animatronics. But working on this model has given me a new appreciation for her design's unique brand of creepiness. Her hurt animation is inspired by Scott Cawthon's Steam post, within which he explains that when Ballora is off her "track", she crawls around like a spider. I figured that her switching to "off-track" mode served as a good visual metaphor for her being caught off guard by an attack.
Modeling Ballora was a challenge, as she's probably the most humanoid character in all of Five Nights at Freddy's, and I had to figure out how to cartoonify her. Despite that, she turned out pretty great in the end. She has a reasonably canny face, and she emotes well with just her eyes.
Now that these two are done, the Funtime animatronics are complete, and so is my third row of characters. Here's a fun render with all of them as a celebration!

FNaF World: Adventure Circus Baby and more!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After a lot of trial and error, I have finally created an Adventure Circus Baby that I'm satisfied with! Complete with cool, fully-rigged death claw! Look at it go!
I spent a long time trying to figure out how to make her face not look super uncanny, as this is the first human-esque character I've made in this style. Here are some earlier demos and work in progress screenies
Overall I think she turned out pretty great. She's just cute enough to avoid being uncanny, but not so cute that she can't lapse into being freaky. That's the ideal midpoint.
Now for some bonus stuff!
I updated Confetti Fox's attack animation for a few reasons, not the least of which is to face his confetti popper more toward the enemy. And to avoid another problem produced by the popper's previous placement.
Tumblr media
I created these characters to see if I could emulate the aesthetic of Old Man Consequences. I think I did pretty well.
Tumblr media
And, finally, I attempted to create a short tune in Leon Riskin's iconic FNaF World style. It's lacking a proper tune currently, but I can always come back to it later.
Thanks for checking out this post! Stay tuned for more content in the future, and I'll catch you on the flipside!

Streets of Rogue character models!
I've begun a new modeling project recently. I'm setting out to model all of the characters from the game Streets of Rogue. I have completed the first row of four!
Tumblr media
In order from left to right, they are: Slum Dweller, Soldier, Gangster (Crepe), Thief, Shopkeeper, Gangster (Blahd), Bartender, and Hacker.
This isn't the sort of thing I typically post about, so if you still checked this out, thank you!

Hello hello! More Fnaf World!
This time I've begun work on the Funtimes! Starting with Funtime Freddy!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, I had to make some interesting choices with this character. In particular, no faceplates. Why did I make this decision? Well, in Fnaf World, Funtime Foxy has no faceplates, despite having faceplates in their appearance in Sister Location. This is likely because Fnaf World was released BEFORE Sister Location had established their design, but nonetheless, Funtime Foxy set a precedent. Additionally, I personally like to imagine Fnaf World as something that would release in-universe as promotional material for Freddy's, and I don't think they would want to highlight maintenance features like the faceplates for little 90s PC-gaming children.
From a meta perspective, I don't think faceplates look very good in Fnaf World's character design style. I tried it and it was weird. (The exterior looked odd enough I didn't feel like finishing the interior)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Maybe it's also because I don't want to worry about modeling the two endoskeletons that he has. Though if I do Yenndo, I suppose I'll end up making them anyway.
Thanks for checking out my art! Catch you on the flipside!

New Custom Fnaf World Enemy + Old Enemy Updates
I've created a new enemy named Mandriller! He was designed for the construction zone seen in this old post.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I first came up with this character in December of 2022, I did concept art for them, and then I proceeded to forget about them entirely until just recently when I started working on them. The face design came to me as a mental image, I designed the rest of the character from that. Hopefully I didn't unconsciously copy it from something. Here is that old concept art:
Tumblr media
While studying the art style of the original FNaF World for inspiration, I came to the realization that there are a lot of different types of robots in that game. I ended up deciding on a fusion of the "block-bot" style of Boxbyte, the endo detailing and general build of Prototype, and the overall aesthetics of Security. Working on this made me realize that Scott Cawthon's style of crazy sci fi greeble is sort of hard to replicate.
Additionally, I went back and made some new animations for my previously designed enemies to give them damage animations. It was nice to work with these characters again but their un-armaturedness made it kind of a pain.
