I'm not planning to draw any of it, but in case anyone is actually using these notes to follow along, I feel I should mention Cheng Xiaoshi later in the episode pisses him off enough that he dumps him lmfao. Xiaoshi needs to go through a mini arc proving he's not just looking to use their powers for fun. I'm looking forward to drawing the real divorce arc that comes later...

While Xiaoshi is celebrating meeting someone who "completes" him, Lu Guang is cursing his fate lol. Ahem. So the thing is, it seems as though their powers are incomplete without the other, instead of having powers that complement each other. The one who's the most nerfed by this is definitely Xiaoshi. He can't even exit a photo by himself, much less enter one. He might as well not have a "power" at all. It's kinda unfair smh. So anyway, that's what he's talking about at the start there.

Context 👇

Xiaoshi was doing his thing helping an old lady not get scammed by a fish vendor. Vendor did not like that and called some friends to attack him later. The boys' powers are explained through... magnetic fields? Which manifests with them being able to mess with electronics. So Lu Guang shows up and scares off the assailants with popping lights and malfunctioning radio. Very spooky. My friend saw this scene and said "aura farming" and that's so apt. That's exactly what's happening.

Okay so in this version Lu Guang is more proactive and is the one who wants the partnership to use their powers for his own reasons. His attempts to probe for information on whether Xiaoshi is "in" on that kind of business already are so awkward... Anyway, I just found it amusing for my own totally unsubtle reasons that Xiaoshi keeps calling him handsome.

Lu Guang lies about needing an ID photo taken. Dunno how obvious it is that's what's happening,,, He's not deleting every photo, just the ones of himself lol. (there wasn't anything else in the memory anyway) He finally starts talking about their powers after getting pushed out the door. I, personally, drew Xiaoshi checking him out pogging cuz I think it's pretty hype if the figure you were idolizing in your head as a cool hero turns out to be hot handsome interested in talking to you.

Guang still hasn't introduced himself. Honestly, he's pretty rude smh. I actually wasn't gonna draw this exchange but I got the itch to draw Xiaoshi pocketing the bribe while I was skipping through the footage for reference. And then I added four more panels and somehow it became a comic kill me.

Not pictured from this episode: A LOT. There's actually quite a bit of fun dialogue, but if I draw all of it, I'll never finish. All of these already took way longer than intended... I need to be sloppier. And leave out way more. 💀
