Surprised some YA Disney novels (*cough* villains) didn't use fop aristocratic marquis Gaston from the concept art/early script for their advantage.

Also, being aristocrat creates more parallels with the prince/beast, but I'm happy this wasn't used, feel like with the 1700s fashion would it have looked like "girly" fashion love interest lost, even though Gaston is always a dick, was this fashion one of the things that made him annoying or would it come across as that to some people 🤷🏼‍♀️ unless prince was in similar fashion.

Right!?!? The disconnect is so interesting. I mean no one’s inherently bad for not seeing the queer-coding, it’s a leaned skill to be able to. But it’s interesting for me to remember that others don't see it because it's just so evident to me.
