Those who were once oppressed under an Apartheid regime have stepped up to help those being oppressed under another one.
Meanwhile, the so-called "free" world is still trying to find ways to justify "standing with" and defending Israel's rogue racist Apartheid regime.
They should feel deep shame. They don't. But they all should.

They killed the olive trees. They killed the little children. They killed the unborn. They killed the father. They killed the mother. They killed the journalist. They killed the journalists entire family. They killed all the aunts and uncles. They killed the doctors. They killed the soul of his soul. They killed the groom. They killed the bride. They killed the cats. They killed the elderly people older than their apartheid state. They killed the thousands of memories painted on the walls. They killed 30,000+ Palestinians that we will never get back. [@/ missfalsteenia on X. 01/07/24.]

mail theft
in the united states, it’s a federal crime to intentionally open someone else’s mail. this is known as mail theft. according to law.cornell.edu, the punishment for opening, destroying, or embezzling someone’s mail can face up to 5 years in jail, a fine, or even both. mail theft is a serious crime because the postal service is a permanent fixture of the government (from usps.com) so think twice before intentionally opening someone’s mail!

patriot act
after the 9/11 terrorist attack, ex-president bush made the patriot act a law to help protect the U.S. the act was made to fight and reduce terrorism by increasing technology usage (ex. wiretaps) without interfering with constitutional rights, according to justice.gov. after 9/11, the U.S. changed in many ways to prevent the endangering of citizens.

supremacy clause
a must know in ap gov, the supremacy clause basically states that federal law and the constitution trumps state laws. in any case where both federal and state laws came into conflict, federal law/whatever the constitution says will take priority because it’s the supreme law of the land, and must be followed.

international law
for those that don’t know, international law is defined as the norms of law which are valid for all states, according to ejil.org. international law includes treaties and policies that are set for the protection of human rights, war, the environment, and more. international law is very important for all leaders of the world to follow, and allows for there to be some sort of harmony between other countries.

first ever law
we all know laws are important, and have been around since before we were alive. but the first ever law was created in 2100-2050 BCE, and was the Code of Ur-Nammu. it was set in mesopotamia, and after being deciphered, the code talks about the consequences of commuting wrongdoings like killing and kidnapping. it shows how long laws have been in place, and how they’re meant to keep order.

cease & desist
what’s a cease and desist? i’ve been seeing on social media that many rich and sometimes even famous people send influencers cease and desists, and this is actually an intimidation tactic! it’s used to tell someone legally to stop doing whatever it is that they’re doing because it’s illegal (or allegedly illegal). according to legalnature.com, a cease and desist can count as harassment if misused and includes misinformation.

while this is something unrelated to what i normally post, i wanted to remind everyone to practice healthy habits, especially since it’s the start of the new year!!
some examples of healthy habits are:
sleeping each night for a minimum of 4 hours
drinking water daily
eating AT LEAST once a day, and eating proper meals
exercising regularly
talking to others about any problems you may be having
keeping a positive mindset
new year, new you! we should all strive to have healthy habits this coming year and make 2024 our year!!
