Riley

James dropped to the floor on his knees sobbing. Finally Adam got him to breath again, but james wouldn’t leave Adams arms. We were all confused. “Isn’t your mom straight?” I asked. He said. “Yea, I don’t understand why she’s there.” Adam said. “Maybe they are taking parents of gay people too.” We all looked at each other in absolute fear. This means all of our parents are in danger by the Christians. “Stacy, grab a hoodie we are going to town. NOW!” Adam yelled startling everyone. “Wait what are you gonna do there?” I asked. He said. “We are gonna go see if we can save the rest of our parents and bring them back here and figure out a way to get to James’s mom.” To be continued...

STACY

We’ve been hiding in the woods for two months now. We have food but we thought we should start hunting so when we run out we’d know how to hunt for food. We all hope we wouldn’t have to hide for that long and that the u.n.’s troops would reach us by then. The u.n. Sent troops from Vancouver and from Mexico so they started west and are making they’re way East, last we herd on the radio they were near the Mississippi so close yet so far. While me and Adam were hunting we herd a noise that sounded like men shouting we looked around for the noise and than Adam told me to hide as helicopters flew over head. We noticed a building with a long fence around it. It was a re-education camp. It had a big screen with a projection on it, the film seemed to be some Christian propaganda saying being gay is wrong. It said “homosexuals are pedophiles trying to rape, kill, than eat your children. The gay agenda is murdering every heterosexual and must be stoped before the terrorists win.” Luckily Adam brought binoculars I told him to give them to me and I looked at the people and noticed someone familiar. I asked Adam “does that woman in the red jacket look familiar?” I gave him the binocs he said “yea” and than we both realized who it was. We ran back to camp to tell Riley and James who we saw. It’s confusing as to why she was there but we knew we needed to do something. To be continued...

ADAM

I finally got to the gas station said a quick hey to my uncle and started grabbing as much as I could. I first grabbed a tent, then essentials like food, water, first aid kits, even some tampons and pads for the lesbian folk. I looked around to see if I needed anything else, and than behind the checkout counter I noticed the guns my uncle sells. I thought to myself ‘i promised the love of my life that I would keep him safe. And if it means killing anyone trying to hurt him, so be it.’ I grabbed two guns and all the ammo my uncle had, thank god he was in the restroom. I put everything I grabbed into the back of my pick up, then everyone arrived. We made sure that everyone had everything they needed but as I was putting the bags in the truck i noticed something moving in a bag, in Stacy’s bag. I said “um Stacy, why is your bag moving?” She said “Oh that’s the bag thats supposed to stay with me.” James asked why, she said “you think I would leave my house without snuggles? hell no.” I shrugged my shoulders and handed her the bagged cat. I put the guns in the back seat on the floor for safe keeping with the ammo. James said “is this for safety?” I said yea and he said “glad we both thought of it.” I was confused. He pulled out an axe from his bag. We all looked worried, he said “listen we are going in the woods we are gonna need protection, we arnt camping people.” We all shrugged and nodded our head and we drove off towards the woods near the border. We got stopped at some checkpoint the government set up to make sure gays weren’t trying to leave and hide. They asked for our ids and where we were going. I said that we were going camping with our girlfriends, he said “alright have fun kids.” And than we were free, everyone in the car sighed out of relief. We finally got to the woods and I started driving my truck thrue the trees as if it were a jungle safari. Finally we thought we were deep enough in the woods that we thought we were safe and we set up camp. I grabbed a ten person tent so we could all share so it would be safer. I put all the guns in a a chest that I always have in the truck that is lock and key shut and I put all the ammo in it, I kept one gun and James’s axe in the tent next to where I sleep. By the time we were done it was dark so we started a fire, James snuggled next to me, wrapped in a blanket like some gay burrito, he looked at me and said “ I will never feel safer than when I am with you. Thank you for keeping us safe.” I kissed him on the head and said “It’s my job to make sure my love stays safe.” I looked over at the two cuddling girls and I said to everybody “We are family now. We keep each other safe and happy no matter what.”We went to sleep, I thought to myself about how now it feels safe but soon it won’t be anymore. Over me and James’s blanket I wrapped a pride flag, I brought it from my room, I don’t know why i brought it, I guess it was to show why we are doing this. It felt good to have it draped over us as we were sleeping, it was as if we were brought together by this flag that offends people. It’s weird but, it’s us. To be continued...

JAMES

I was sitting on the couch with Adam watching the grinch with Jim Carey, because Adam said he wanted to get in the Christmas spirit, even though it’s June. But right as jim Carey was about to rearrange people’s mail, the door bell rang. Me and Adam looked at each other, I had a big look of fear on my face but Adam just looked at me with those cute brown eyes of his and sent a reassuring smile. He went to open it and I got scared, but when he opened the door it was just Stacy and her girlfriend that I guess she’s been long distance dating for a little while. Adam hugged Stacy and Riley hello and Stacy saw me and as usual she greets me by saying “hey queen” in wich I reply “sup slut”. Riley looked concerned when I said that but I got up hugged her hello and reassured her that that’s just how we greet each other cause we like to bully each other. Everyone sat down on the couch Adam looking like he was about to jump on me but instead plopped right next to me and put his arm around me greeting me with a kiss as if he wasn’t sitting here two minutes ago. I noticed Stacy looked happy with Riley and that made me happy cause she deserves it. Riley was the first one to talk and she brought up what we were all thinking about and knew we wanted to talk about it but no one was brave enough, I guess Riley really wanted to talk about it. She said “what do you guys think of this whole raid thing?” I told her that it already started in New Jersey and they took my friend that lives there. Adam said “I think it’s stupid but they can’t do it to everyone. Right?” Stacy replied “sadly yea they can, the Christians over threw our government and now they have control of everything like millitary and police and stuff like that. The news said they are sending a thousand troops to each state to collect everyone.” I told them that my mom said we should hide in the forest and try to cross the border or just hide there till it’s safe. Everyone laughed, except Adam, I looked up cause he usually loves my jokes but instead he had his cute thinking face on. I asked what he was thinking about he said “what if we do that?” We all looked at him, questioning what was going on in that brain of his. He said “we can get tents from my uncles gas station grab food, water, and live in the forest until it’s safe, or until the other nations finally defeat our tyranny of a government.” Me being the supportive boyfriend I am agreed and said that’s a great idea, Stacy agreed with me. Riley looked confused and worried, she said “what if they find us?” Stacy said “that’s why we’ll be deep in the forest. And they can’t do anything to you if I’m still alive, trust me.” She said While rubbing her back trying to reassure Riley everything would be ok if we do it. Riley said “okay, when should we do this?” Adam said “everyone go home don’t stop anywhere just go straight home pack anything you need, than meet me at my uncles gas station at 10:00 pm, I’ll have everything ready and we can take my truck to the woods and find a safe place to stay.” Everyone said ‘okay’ as they got up and left almost Immediately, without saying goodbye. I think everyone thought this was a good and safe idea because it kinda was. Adam stayed by the door waiting for me and said “well can I get my goodbye kiss?” I went up to him and said “only if you promise we’ll be safe out there and you won’t do anything stupid to get yourself into trouble.” He said “baby it’s me. since when would I put you in danger?” I nodded my head and gave him his goodbye kiss. I shut the door and went straight to my room and pack. while packing all I could think was ‘oh god this is either smart or stupid, luckily my boyfriend is both.” To be continued...

RILEY

I woke at 2:00pm, I guess I drowned out my alarm set for 8:30 am this morning. Luckily I woke up an hour before I had to meet up with Stacy. I like Stacy we’ve been virtual dating for about two months now, we met at the school orientation for our little brothers because my family and I were moving here from Florida aka the home of mosquitoes. I went to take a shower but I couldn’t seem to enjoy it like I usually do. Usually it’s nice quite time away from my brother screaming at the top of his lungs playing video games with his friends. This shower though kinda sucked, I just wanted it to end cause the whole time I couldn’t stop thinking about what I saw on the news yesterday morning. How could people be so evil that they want to kill people because of the way they were born, all because a book written by who knows what says so. I finally finished in the shower got dressed in a cute crop top and ripped jeans and just threw my hair in a messy bun that I made sure wasn’t to messy. I walked to Stacy’s house cause my dad won’t buy me a car so I have to work and save up. My dad thought it best for me to quit my job though ever since the Christians took power. I got to Stacy’s house finally, I looked up at her window and saw her smile as she saw me walk up the drive way. She opened the door and we bolted, running at each other so fast it amazes me that we didn’t bang into each other, instead i just ended up in her arms never happier than now hoping she wouldn’t stop hugging me ever, but all good things must come to an end I guess. We hopped in her car and we started driving to James’s house both of us knew we wanted to talk about what’s going on but no one said anything about it. We stopped at a read light, and while we were sitting there I turn my head and see her staring at me I asked her what was wrong. She said “nothings wrong, now that we are together everything’s right.” I’ve never heard something so cheesy that made me smile, almost blush. We kissed each other before the light turned green but we couldn’t move cause someone saw our kiss and started yelling at us blocking us from moving. I’ve never been so scared luckily Stacy knew what to do she motioned for him to come to the window and when he did she drove off. We both looked at each other and laughed while we flipped him off as we drove away. To be continued...

STACY

I got ready to go on a date with a girl named Riley. I took a shower threw on a flannel shirt cuffed at the elbows, and a pair of ripped jeans, I called my friend James to see if I could use his gay sense of style and approve my outfit choice. He said I look like a lesbian stereotype, but I was okay with that. I made my way down stares to grab my keys and go to the restaurant when I herd my mom watching the news. She never liked the news so I was curious as to why she was watching it now. I walked into the living room and saw my mom sitting on her couch petting our cat snuggles. I sat down next to her mostly cause I wanted to pet the cat but also to say goodbye and ask why she was watching the news. She said that it was cause my aunt texted her about something going on in New Jersey where I used to live and she wanted to see if it was happening here. She looked at me and said. “you look fancy.” I told her I was going on a date. She looked at me with a hint of concern. “I’m sorry sweetie but you can’t go it’s too dangerous.” I was confused what did she mean by dangerous, it’s a small town in Pennsylvania how dangerous could it be i mean the last crime committed in this town was by my little brother Steven, he walked on the city hall grass because he was playing soccer with his friends and the ball went on the grass. I asked with little concern why it was dangerous. She said “the government is ordering raids of city’s and grab any member of the lgbt+ community and send them to re-education camps to make them normal human beings again.”I tried not to look concerned for my moms sake if she saw I was worried she’d lose it and be as scared as a rabbit during hunting season. I then got a text from Riley the girl I was supposed to go on the date with. It said “sorry, I watched the news and think it’s best if we canceled the date.” I didn’t blame her this is scary news. I replied “I don’t blame you this is scary, tomorrow I’m going to my friend James’s house to hang out with him and his boyfriend and probably talk about this. Wanna come?” She replied fast. “Sure sounds like fun🙂 what time should I be at your house so we can drive there together?” I told her to meet me at around 3:00pm, she said ok with this emoji ☺️ like she always does. I went back to my room changed into my comfy clothes and thought to myself and told myself this can’t possibly be real. Well I guess we’ll find out and talk about it tomorrow, I then closed my door turned off the light and took a nap witch isn’t unusual but I think I needed it since i was getting a headache from my rushing worried thoughts. The short story's will be a series showing these four peoples points view.

I’m starting a short story series called “the rights revolution” it’s about these four characters Adam (gay,male) james(gay,male) and Riley (biesexual,female) and Stacy (lesbian, female) trying to stop the radical Christian run government using holocaust style tactics to rid of members part of the lgbt+ community but these four characters start a group called the ‘rights revolutionary’s’ in attempt to save members of the lgbt+ community and over throw the tyrannical Christian government. Will they be able to save there fellow members of the community or get cought by the government and sent off to a re-education camp. I’ll try to post a story everyday and hope you enjoy.
