regulus has never been much about the romance cliches until he meet barty, and suddenly he was willing to lie about hating olives so barty could always have all of them.

Bellatrix’s favorite cousin is Regulus btw. Not sorry, I don’t make the rules, she’s just lovingly bullied regulus his entire life and she always will until one of them dies and she perks up immediately when she hears he’s going to be somewhere she’s going. Family get togethers are worth it because she gets to pinch little Reggie’s cheeks and make him mad, it’s her favorite past time. Bellatrix doesn’t respect men and she has innate need to be in control and feared first before loved or respected though she likes it when her family also has those feelings behind the fear, and regulus does. He’s one of the only ones who does. Regulus is used to being pushed around by the family, he doesn’t have that much pride to be bruised when it comes to them, and Bellatrix fully abuses that and loves him for the lack of fight he has about it.

BUT Bella’s favorite guy that isn’t in the family is undeniably Barty for the exact opposite reason. She finds it utterly adorable how prideful he is and how much the muggle ground kissing minister’s little son thinks he belongs with the big boys playing with dark magic. And then she’s enthralled when she realizes he’s actually fucking good at it. He has a lot of bark but he has plenty of bite too! Not nearly as much as her though, and he’s not stupid enough to think he does. Perfect, she’s cackling in excitement when he’s at the same DE meetings as her. She’s looping an arm through his to claim dibs on him for partner missions (everyone collectively breathes a sigh of relief because no one wanted to be paired with either of them anyways) and talks him up to all the family in his absence.

Anyway she was absolutely thrilled when she found out about Bartylus.
