“It will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female.” So not only is this statement transphobic and idiotic (though the two are pretty much synonyms), it’s not even scientifically correct. In an attempt to attack gender non-conforming individuals, Trump also displayed his lack of knowledge about biology. There are three biological genders (or sexes); male, female, and intersex. Though being intersex is incredibly uncommon, it is still classified as a biological sex, considering you are born intersex. Is Trump saying that an intersex person has to be either male or female, considering he is denying their existence? If intersex people don’t exist…does that mean…according to Trump…they have to change their gender? Hm.
