oct 30 2020 ok sa totoo lang 9 am ngayon ng oct 31 pero ayoko ibreak yung ‘streak’ HAHAHA any wayyyy~ at this point of freshman year, i think nakapag acclimate nako with everything. idk for sure pero ,, yun. hahahaha ive been seeing posts reposted by freshman mapuans saying na its hell sa mapua and its fucking draining and if u aren’t drained and sleep-deprived then ure doing it wrong and... parang di naman ganon ung nararanasan ko ngaun. LIKE ayoko maging mayabang em nut tryna be i just dont feel that way and so far magaganda naman grades ko. its true what they said din na stc work load is the same as mapua workload and fuck ive never been so grateful for stc ooF. ALSO im 100% sure about my course now. no doubt. first few weeks of college talaga i felt so much uncertainty and hesitancy thinking if civil engineering is really for me and i used to think that these first few weeks would be a mirror of the rest of my life in college ;(. buti naman hindi hahahah.  for sts subject, we had to watch a movie called gattaca. shit was really profound 😔 nyahahahha. i know civil engineering is not all that naman pero i rlly relate sa mga songs/movies kung san ung protagonist sobrang laki ng pangarap na sobrang,, according to logic, di mo siya aakalain na kaya niya yun. basically its like the icarus set-up na bitchass flies too high than he is meant to and gets burned. pero i thought whats the fucking point of life if i dont push myself to the very limit no matter how much im stretching myself thin. although these days, im not having that much of a hard time naman which is WHY i feel like im doing something wrong idk.  i have to learn to make myself uncomfortable –– always.  also TANGENA magth’three motnhs na pero still cant wrap my head around how im a UNIVERSITY STUDENT not only that but major in engineering?!!?! love that for me HAHAHA i hope things will turn up good for me and for d fam. i really dont know what else to say.

tomorrow is mama’s 54th birthday ^__^
so quick recall lolzz this whole week there’s no classes because the admin and student council are discussing the current modular system if it needs changing, etc. SO YEY HEHE i really hope mapua is the type of school that is effective but is also considerate of their students’ wellbeing guSTO KO GUMRADUATE W/ MY SANITY PLS LANG BAKA NAMAN !
feeling ko talaga its fate (awow) na walang pasok this week to give time to celebrate mi mudra’s bday !!!!!! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ sobrang grateful ako sa mom ko n everything shes done for us n i want to show her that aheheh tomo we will buy balloons, confetti, flowers to surprise her when she comes back from her flight tom @ 7PM.
i failed module 1 of calculus because i barely did anything to study.. as in i was depressed the whole day that i found out. seriously doubted myself and my capabilities ahahaha. but i now know i have to keep going this doesnt even mean that i failed the class. its just one module. i will do better i fucking SWEAR BY IT. taena im not doing it para lang sa sarili ko pero para kela mama and papa din >:( so i better fucken shape up ! (cuz i dont need a man chz)
i will get my engineering degree i will get my engineering degree i will get my engineering degree i will get my engineering degree!!
So far i dont think im going to be seeing things go back to normal soon . Mukhang..... wala talagang plano yung pamahalaan eh puta people are literally dying and starving and becoming depressed and yet kung ano anu pa inuuna ni duterte tangina niya sana siya nalang yung presidente na in/ass/ass/ina/te JOKE baka targetin pa ko dahil sa entry na to hahah
Im coming to realize a lot of things lately and that its not rlly that rare persay to graduate in engineering. I learned kay mama na si tatay pala agricultural engineering, si kuya biboy naman electronics and communications engineering, tapos si tito bobby naman, mechanical engineering. Ngayon na tinatype ko to,, i realize din na im the first (and only) girl to pursue engineering in the family. This is why i can’t quit. hold on,,..,, imma write dis shit down.
REASONS WHY YOU CAN”T FUCKING QUIT 👁‍🗨::::
You know you won’t allow yourself to die if you haven’t reached your full potential, bitch
“kailangan mo tapusin pag-aaral mo no matter what, no matter how hard hangga’t nakuha mo na degree mo”   - achi
youre a girl. you just can’t quit like that. its fucking embarrassing. pick yourself up u can do anything i promise
youre doing this for mama and papa to have a happier life, not only for yourself
People ask hardwork or luck???? The answer is “the harder you work –– the luckier you get.”
More money dudejlkdkddidjidjjdjd
you will gain a LOT more confidence in yourself fo sure fo sure
Do it for rick. charot.

WAAAAA Second week palang pero andami nang requirements n lessons to catch up with (╯✧▽✧)╯pero okay lang padayon pa rin!
Yung pinaka stressful moment ko in these two weeks were the chem diagnostic test :(( literal na sumakit brain ko dun and it really pressured me into thinking na baka di ko talaga kaya ‘to. But after resting my brain a bit, I realized it was just one small bump at basta, patuloy lang ang pagsubok mas magiging madali sakin. Kasi considering,,,, transition phase pa lang naman to. (((and also first term lang may chem ehehehhe))) I will make a conscious effort talaga to be more aware of how I spend my time and how I can reduce my stress. Sisiguraduhin kong yung time ko spent for resting is not procrastination Lolz. Like right now i am literally jus vibing to a john mayer playlist, drinking green tea, and finishing some essays for NSTP on a warm sunday afternooon (⌒‿⌒) Hindi ko naman goal maging best or perfect, its only to do the best i can and maintain that until graduation. Bukas nga pala is nat’l heroes day so walang pasok nyehey ^3^

I LOVE Excel! I took an Excel class during University and I’ve never stopped using or learning about it since. During my summer internship, I would literally use Excel functions and macros for hours every single day. Even if you don’t want to be an Excel fanatic, learning a few basic functions will make your life easier (and even impress a few managers along the way!).
I’ve outlined below some of the most useful Excel functions to learn. Some of these functions are very basic but can make a huge difference. These functions save time, automate procedures, and make your life easier! And if you need some help on how to learn them, I’ve listed some helpful resources to get you started. With all of us social distancing at home, now is as good of a time as any to add a skill to your resume.
Excel Functions to Know:
SUM: returns sum of cells selected
SUMPRODUCT: multiplies ranges or arrays together and returns the sum of product
IF: return one value for a TRUE result and another for a FALSE result
SUMIF: returns the sum of cells if the cell meets a single condition
AVERAGEIF: computes the average of the numbers in a range that meets a certain criteria
VLOOKUP: lookup and retrieve data from a specific column in a table can be exact or approximate match
LEFT: returns a given number of characters from the left side of text string
RIGHT: returns a given number of characters from the right side of text string
CONCATENATE: joins the text of cells together and returns the joined text in one cell
LENGTH: returns the given number of characters in a text
Resources:
Excel Jet: Very useful as a type of Excel dictionary to look up syntax and specific formulas you don’t know
Excel Easy: almost like on online textbook for Excel (great resource for those who have no knowledge of Excel at all!)
Udemy: paid excel course with lots of videos, assignments, and downloadable resources
Coursera: self-paced learning option, quizzes and assignments, and a course certificate
Excel Youtube Course by Technology for Teachers and Students
Prologue to my Excel series
I’ll also be posting Excel tips, tricks, function explanations, and some basic Excel tutorials so if you’d like to see more appear on your dash in the future, follow my blog and look for my Excel series.

What I learned after 3 years in Civil Engineering
Hey y'all! I just wanted to share my wisdom now that I’m in my third year of engineering and maybe some tips and stuff you may find useful.
Rely on yourself, and try not to cheat. so, you may have heard of a app called chegg. i used to use it religiously in order to finish assignments (procrastination gang rise up) or take home tests. i used it for a good part of freshman and sophomore year, leading to poor grades because i didn’t understand the material. in hindsight, i wish i spent more time working on the questions then relying so heavily on an expensive app to do them for me. this semester i did an experiment to see how much do i actually know. i deactivated chegg and began doing the work myself. and i got A’s in my midterm grades.
Figure out how to use the things that make you stressed to your advantage. we can’t escape the stress in college, we’re bound to feel it. i stressed about completing assignments on time and turning them in, that i didn’t actually learn anything. so, i get really bad anxiety when i procrastinate over a deadline. what i learned is to think about how i’d feel if i put myself in a position to be stressed. then, assess yourself accordingly. so, if i was stressed over a deadline, i would try to see how much i can get done in the days leading up to the deadline. by that day, i was no longer stressed because i took the large assignment and broke it down into chunks.
Figure out who you can and can’t work with. in college, you meet lots of people who study in lots of different ways. it’s definitely interesting to see people come together and learn a topic and practice it, but someone’s study habits may not necessarily be yours. some people also form “study” groups to cheat (this is the reality in STEM majors unfortunately). be sure not to fall in with that crowd; be friendly and helpful, but don’t rely on cheating to be successful. here’s a quote from one of my favorite movies, “Three Idiots”: “follow excellence and success will chase you!”
4. Have a balance. it’s great to be focused on your major, but it shouldn’t be the only thing that you do. it’s so important to come up for air every once in a while. eat a hot meal, take a bath, play a sport or instrument. you’re a human, not a studying machine. enrich your body and mind, and know that while studying is important, your feelings and mental state are even more important.
These are all the tips I have for now. Thanks for reading! Have a good semester and stay healthy and safe.

PLANNING 101
A student tested guide to planning your shit
Tumblr media
Yes, I’m back after months of absence. I’ve been horribly busy this summer, I started my internship, had to do some certifications and even started working as a freelance marketer aside from that. So, you can just imagine how many things I’ve gotta do. And I have to say what truly saved me, is planning properly. So these are the best practices I’ve learned that have saved me from going crazy. This method consists of 3 stages: Overview, Planning, Reviewing. In the end, I will also list some good practices that can help you plan better.
Overview Stage
For this first stage, I rec you to grab a piece of paper and just jot down these things. Don’t write them directly on your calendar, with the exception of deadlines.
1. List your deadlines first. Starting with the deadlines is the easiest given the fact these are likely not to change dates. Include here things like presentations, exams, meetings. Also, do yourself a favour and list the expiration date of legal documents like ID, passport, license and such because most of us don’t do that and realise too late when its already expired.
2. List your required tasks and the time it takes to finish. These are mundane things like cleaning, cooking, and other chores you usually do on a daily or weekly basis. Also, write down how much time you spend doing these things and when you usually do them.
3. List things you do in your free time. This one is pretty straightforward: going out with friends, watching a movie or series, reading and whatever else you like to do in your free time.
Planning Stage
1. Analyse. This is the most crucial part of the entire process so you have to pay close attention here. Deadlines are our number 1 priorities, and likely the ones to give us more stress. So we want to start with those first. Ask yourself questions like how long it will take you to complete a certain project? How hard will it be to complete this before the deadline? Is it time-consuming? Is it a group or individual project? If it’s a group project, keep in mind you should leave some time open for meetings and such. Talk to your teammates if you are going to meet, if so when and where.
2. Set weekly goals.
Shit might happen and you may not complete your daily tasks and such. Which is why I prefer setting weekly goals. As the week progress, I schedule my tasks. I don’t like planning specifically every detail for more than 2 days, as shit might happen today or tomorrow or maybe I’m in a whole different mood and therefore do schedule my daily tasks in more detail the night before. I’ve noticed it makes me feel less stress and I have better control over what I can do instead of what I want to do in the day.
3. Don’t go nuts on the daily tasks.
We all would like to be productive af, and hustle with all-nighters and all so we can brag about how hard we work but man that ain’t healthy. At least, I know that shit doesn’t work for me at all. I set a maximum of 5 daily tasks. I’ve noticed that if I do more, chances are very high I won’t even finish my daily tasks and will get stressed instead. Take it easy. Don’t rush. Plus it gives me time to do other stuff after if I feel like it or if someone invites me to go out.
Good practices
1. Have everything in one accessible place. I used to have a bullet journal and couple it with a digital calendar. Worst idea ever. Somethings where here the other half was over there. It was truly a mess. Just pick one and stick to it. This way you won’t be losing information and everything, literally, everything can be seen at a glance. I personally prefer using a digital calendar because I always have my phone with me, and it helps me minimize the things I carry.
2. Try to plan ahead and for the worst-case scenario. Yes, you never know when shit may hit the fan so you better be prepared.
3. Reward yourself. There’s no point in working hard if all you’re gonna do is be fucking stress. Chillax. Watch some Netflix and distract yourself. Remember the brain needs some time to process things on its own. Just like you don’t like to be forced and instead end up doing nothing, let your brain work in its own rhythm. Don’t rush.

It’s summer. Kinda hahaha. We haven’t graduated yet since everything has been put on hold because of the corona virus outbreak happening worlwide. I am using this awfullyy long time to be productive. Dapat magaganap senior’s night namin nung march 20 tapos graduation sa march 27. I plan on studying physics and math in advance while the enhanced community quarantine is still going on. Truly , ang galing ko talaga magprocastinate HAHA :( yun tuloy nag-aalala ako kung kakayanin ko ba talaga yung civil engineering kjgfkjdk. I know i will try my best though and forge new relationships with new people there @ mapua university. I plan on not failing please lord ahjshah. I wanna do good, join an org, become popular so that I can create powerful connections. i will be able to do this!!!!!!! (*•̀ᴗ•́*)و ̑̑✧
