That is, until Malik's distant cousin is forced into their lives, causing Malik to revert back to hiding his past while Ryou desperately tries to uncover it. Yes Ryou is sort of the 'bad' guy but he's not really all that bad he is just having fun + playing + getting coin the quickest way possible because why not

and guess what Malik is doing it with him and theyre kind of like robin hood type con-artists but they keep the money for themselves LOL so they target rich folk and other criminals but also yeah their morals are very grey and thats okay

also they make out and are in love

So anyways they're together and stealing and they take notice of a certain bounty hunter that's been hanging out on a certain trail and decide to rob him bc he's gotta have money right especially since they've seen him taking bounties to the sheriff and whatnot.... (also “bounty hunter? lol lame!”)

so anyways tkb gets lured in to ryou's little damsel in distress shtick only ryou picks his pocket and malik steals from his horse (see below) but tkb is none the wiser because holy shit ryou/mysterious stranger is flirting with him and it is mesmerizing ...

then ryou's like oh look i know that guy bye and tkb is like what and ryou hops on malik's horse and they run away and after a moment tkb is like wait wait wait what wait and then he realizes HE, the former THIEF KING just got ROBBED and he is livid and he stomps his way to the marshal/sheriff/closest law enforcement and searches to see if this seductive siren is wanted and sure enough there he is and he rips the paper down and vows to catch him

But before that, tkb is sure to raise the price :-)

So basically the subplot is this whole dynamic between Ryou and tkb where Ryou keeps slipping away and each time he does, tkb raises the reward which makes moving around very difficult for Ryou (as criminals now recognize him and immediately see dollar signs lol) however, ryou is also mesmerized by tkb and he has a hunch that tkb doesn't actually want to catch him and turn him in he's just got repressed feelings and so they have this fun playful banter whenever they're in Situations (gun fight, fleeing a scene, etc.) Malik also teases Ryou for being "obsessed" with this bounty hunter which is so crazy he's not obsessed with him (he is) (he wants him so bad)

And then there's more main plot that ties into that too and goes hand in hand with Ryou's wanted reward being raised and also with tkb's mysterious past that ryou gets hints of every now and again when he meets new people and when tkb goes all quiet and avoidant you know how he is

also yami marik/chuncho shows up too and surprise this is a conspireshipping fic LOL

I need to know more about what is going on in the scene where the horse is nibbling TKB's hair (best guess is it's a holdup, but Ryou doesn't look too worried lol)

Okay so basically what's happening but you can't really see because my composition is poor in that doodle (LOL) is tkb is holding up a... wanted poster... and on the wanted poster is Ryou's picture.... and tkb is demanding ryou get off that horse to be turned in lest he be forced to shoot... see plot reveal

tkb is a bounty hunter with a mysterious past and ryou is sort of a con-artist, charlatan-esque rascal with a heart of gold and an accurate aim :-) soooo horse scene is bounty hunter tkb attempting to peacefully capture his bounty only to be interrupted by persistent horse nibbling and ryou's handsome features sorry what who said that
