Also can we talk about all the discussions they’ve had with each other on all kinds of complicated matters? Sure, they often got angry and frustrated with each other because of their own world-views and how they weren’t matching up, but they also handled it pretty maturely.

I’m very hung up on when Taiyou was like “Let’s continue this conversation later.” after they both blew up at each other and said obviously emotional hurtful things to each other.

Because they were angry, and hurt and scared and in a dangerous survival situation, but at the end of the day, they just wanted to understand. To understand their situation better, to understand each other better.

Throughout the show they were constantly learning to trust each other and it wasn’t easy but their trust surpassed even their disagreements.

I love them so much.

And also TOUYA WHAT EXACTLY MADE YOU CHOOSE TO STAY WITH TAIYOU IN THE END INSTEAD OF KONOHA, YA KNOW THATS KINDA VERY GAY

The idea of Taiyo slowly realizing that that Toya isn't an asshole and a terrorist, but is instead is just a kid. A kid who lost almost everyone he in his life at very young age. A kid who is just trying to save his bestfriend and himself from dying before they even turn 15. A kid who is going to be sent to a strange uncomfortable enviroment (earth) full of people who think hes better off dead. I love the idea of Taiyo realizing that Toya is actually really caring and intelligent but is just wary and reserved.

I love the idea that Toya starts to get used to people because of Taiyo. I love that Toya slowly starts growing more and more comfortable with Taiyo as time goes on

(Special thanks to the lovely @koilada​ for supplying the subtitles while I was away for the holidays! You saved me a lot of time & effort …and really ugly, illegible results. xD )

Act II: Coming soon! **Also, before anybody asks - yes, I do know that Eden Espinosa played Elphaba on Broadway. And yes, I did consider this when coming up with the cast for this AU. Eden does a marvelous job as both Cass and Elphie, but they are ultimately very different characters (despite both having ballads about going rogue and friendships with a short, perky blonde.) To me, Varian just seems better suited for the role, based on their similar motivations and outlooks. (If anybody wants to know more about this, or any other, casting choice, I’ll gladly go into more detail about it. Just shoot me an ask. <3 )

No but seriously, sometimes I’m just looking at Varian fanart and thinking about Varian and I get distracted by how cute he is and even though I know he’s super smart I somehow still manage to forget how incredibly cunning he can be.

Which is why I absolutely ADORE “Closer” by Danielle Keiko Eyer, like, the lyrics make me feel so many things.

The way Varian and Hugo both think they have the upper hand and how, with how smart they are, they both have the full right to think they do. They’re both so smart! Well… I guess Varian is a bit sharper than Hugo. XD

I love how much sense it makes for Varian to immediately see through Hugo’s bullshit and instead try to trick Hugo into thinking that he’s successfully managed to earn Varian’s trust while all the while Varian is still trying to piece together our favourite rat man’s true intentions, except Hugo also knows Varian is more wary than of his than he lets on and just aaaaaaaaaaa
