Hi! I saw your post in the community tab and I hope this doesn't come across as rude bc I'm genuinely curious: why would you need someone who has the actual game? If the project is on YouTube, couldn't you take clips from no commentary playthroughs and just use that? I mean there's the legality of it but I guess I'm just wondering how exactly the details of it would work out.

This is a really ambitious project btw! I think it's really cool you wanna take this on, its that kind of love that every fandom needs y'know? 🫶🏼 hope ur doing well!!

Great question! Thank you for asking, and I have contemplated this before and The main reason is: Consistency and connection. Yes, hypothetically, I could just use the YouTube videos, but none of those actions carry over past that 1st episode. Choices made in episode 1 affect those in episode 2 and beyond. Because of that, it'd be difficult to ensure that the choices made will affect the story past the first episode. Not only that, but having people that I can talk to who have the game makes it a lot easier to make sure that it's staying consistent. I also don't think I could do this by myself AT ALL. My knowledge of the game is limited to videos and the wiki. Hence why again I need people who have the game. If you have any more questions, I'd be happy to answer!

Who am I?:

Hi! I'm Icarus you may know me from my art blog @theghostoficarus. I don't want to say too much about myself because internet safety is important chat. What's my goal?: I want to make a way for people who didn't get the chance to (like myself) play Minecraft Story Mode. The game, as bad as the first few episodes can be, has a lot of love put into it. It's a shame they took it down, and I want to give people a way for people to play it. A romhack if you will. What if they sue?: Mojang doesn't care about the game like... at all. And I plan to keep the credit scenes in, meaning that all credit for the creation of the games will still go to them. This project is also a nonprofit. I'm really just doing this for fun. That also means 0 ads while playing HURRAY! Where can I find it?: It's going to be on YouTube! I'm going to make a YouTube channel for it soon, but as of now it's not up yet. What can I do to help?: As of now, you can get in touch with me by DMing me. As long as you can prove you have the game, then you can totally help! I'm going to start work on a Discord soonish to help mainstream the work. However, that's going to be later down the line. I'm in the research phase of things, which essentially means figuring out how many clips I'm going to need to make this and how many people I'd need to do it optimally.
