Corrie Gaurd fics have really opened my eyes to the idea of just solving the Palpatine problem. crack au where anakin just... never learnt how to read aurebesh. he managed to avoid the lessons with obi-wan and all of his plans and notes through the clone wars were in either huttese or mando'a for the clones. so, he rocks up as vader, trying to communicate plans with admiral Piett and general veers and piett is like "lord vader, sir, i have transferred you plans, etc." and vader is like "oh, thank you." but never reads it. veers transfers him troop casualties and he never reads it. piett sends him a card to sign and he doesn't. this continues on and veers and piett just think that their commander is a rude piece of shit. then, the on-site bartender is like "oh, no, he is rude but that isn't why he's blowing you off. lord vader can't read or write basic"

star wars fandoms are hilarious cuz there's literally hundreds of characters with backstories and lore or at least more than 5min of screen time

but no, a bunch of us have collectively decided that this one clone – who has like 5min of screen time total and in that time imprisons one of the fandom favs and shoots another; who we know literally nothing about; whose face we never even get to see – is our precious lil guy <3

Star Wars Rebels and Andor both begin in 5 BBY but are aimed at two different audiences and even if they weren't it's entirely realistic to expect that even in dark times like the Empire there's going to be silly light-hearted days for our heroes

All this to say it's kinda funny to imagine that while Andy Serkis was giving a rousing speech to prisoners to rebel against a fascist gulag system building a nuclear weapon, somewhere across the galaxy some punk-ass street rat who always calls himself Jabba the Hutt is trying to corral a herd of panicked pigs that literally turn into giant balloons when they get scared
