Sometimes, smut and romance are fun, but sometimes I just want endless devotion and true love that forces a character to introspect and confront their feelings, which can come in a variety of flavors. Yes, romance, but also friendship, queerplatonic, and my personal favorite, familial. I love the relationship between a child and caretaker. This is why a lot of my favorite fics follow the pattern: 1) shrink Character A, 2) throw at Character B, 3) watch the magic happen.
