Christmas with Demons!

We do kind of celebrate Christmas, but we only decorate and stuff for Christmas if there are human exchange students living in the House of Lamentation who also celebrate Christmas and are staying here over their break. I usually never say anything either way, but I actually enjoy having the HoL looking all festive. It makes me nostalgic. 

But, if there aren’t any human exchange students in the HoL, me and the boys usually just exchange gifts on Christmas morning and I help cook a big breakfast. Then I have to practically drag Lucifer to Lord Diavolo’s usually pretty lavish Christmas party that evening. 

Overall, we try to ignore the Christian meaning behind it because, you know, demons, and focus on the aspect of gift giving and family time. As long as no one mentions dad, it’s not awkward at all!

Hi Blair!

I’m a human exchange student, so I’m not in any of your classes because they aren’t required for us, but I had a question regarding school in general.

I have ADHD, and I’m having trouble getting through a lot of the reading assigned in class. Some of them are just so dry and boring! I’ll read a paragraph or two and then realize that I literally don’t know what I just read and then have to go back and read it again. It’s extremely frustrating.

Do you have any advice on how to read super boring stuff while still retaining information? I’m at a loss here 😖 thanks!

ADHD Tips and Tricks!

Good afternoon, Anon!

I actually am very familiar with the daily struggles of ADHD! It is something I struggled with A LOT as a human, and while becoming a faerie has made many of the symptoms subside greatly, I still struggle with it. 

I remember the AWFUL readings I had to do when i was an exchange student, so I feel your pain. Honestly, you’re doing a lot better than me already. I never read any of them. I would act like I “just wasn’t understanding them” to Satan, and he would tutor me. In about an hour, I received a dumbed down summary of the readings, and that was enough to get me through the classes lmao! But, I digress.

So, something about ADHD brains you should know (if you didn’t already), is that we are extremely sensitive to outside stimuli. This is why we get distracted easily, and why we have trouble focusing on one single thing at a time. Reading only uses one of our senses, or two I guess if you count the slight tactile stimulation you get when you turn a page. This means that the other three or four are waiting with bated breath for anything to latch on to, especially if the reading isn’t exactly exciting! Below the cut, I will list things you should do to babysit your other senses while you focus on reading. 

Sight: This is the sense you are using and stimulating the most, so you don’t need to do anything to further stimulate it. It is conducting your main task: reading that horrible chapter for Devildom Political Science

Hearing: Turn some sort of sound on. Some people use classical music, but I find this to be too stimulating. I use rain, or simple white noise. This will drown out any random noises around you that could break your concentration, and give something for your ears to focus on while you read. 

Smell: I don’t know what the candle regulations are where you live, but I always burn some sort of candle or incense while I work. If candles are against the rules, invest in an oil diffuser, or a wax melter. Rubbing a strong scented lotion on your hands will also work, or spraying the Devildom equivalent to Febreeze around your room before you study. Anything for your nose to play with. 

Taste: If you are a snacky person, get a snack! Give your taste buds something to do while you’re reading. I am a beverage girl, personally. I’m not a fan of crumbs in my books, and cheeto dust stains on the pages. I could drink an entire case of juice boxes while I studied in school. Lucifer had to ween me off because it was getting expensive haha. 

Touch: This one is a little tricky. Like I said above, sometimes the tactile stimulation of turning a page is enough for some people. For me, it was not. So, have something near by that you like to touch. This could be a soft blanket, a plant, even putting on lip balm. I usually had a blanket wrapped around my shoulders that I would play with. I also had a small spiky ball that looked like a dog toy that I would roll around between my foot and the floor if I was feeling particularly antsy that day. It was extremely soothing. 

If all else fails: 

-Try having someone read it aloud to/with you, take notes on what sticks out as important. Studying notes is a lot easier than studying giant blocks of text. Studying with friends is a lot more fun and a good bonding experience. 

-Read out loud to yourself, and give yourself a small reward for (x) amount of text you read.

-Take a break and come back later. Sometimes, you cannot force these things. Don’t punish yourself for this either, have some grace with yourself. 

-Never be afraid to ask for help. Your professors want you to pass their classes. They want you to succeed. I want you to succeed. I will make you an interactive powerpoint presentation on your reading, I will read to you until all hours of the night, and I will personally supply you with juice boxes if it means you will get a decent grade on a quiz. 

ADHD fucking sucks, Anon. It makes doing everything 10x harder, I know. But, our brains are also creative, smart, loving, emotional, and so so very beautiful.

*knocks on the door to Lucifer’s study before opening it anyway, carrying a cup of hot tea on a saucer, and a smirk* *sets the cup and saucer on the edge of his desk* “You may not have magic for the week, but I still do” *faerie dust falls from her fingers and into the tea* *she presses a light kiss to his temple and whispers in his ear* “Go nuts, Avatar of Pride,” *picks up the empty tea cup from earlier in the day, and begins to saunter out*

*Lucifer watches you, cocking an eyebrow.*

You do realize my body can't metabolize faerie dust the way it usually does, right? Hmm... I do wonder what the effects will be like. Don't you want to stay and find out?

*The demon picks up the tea, sipping at it until it's nearly empty. Several minutes later, Lucifer begins feeling warm and fuzzy...*

*Oh, no... You got Lucifer high.*

I know you and Lucifer are kind of private about your marriage (I literally didn’t know until Mammon made a joke about it), but how did Lucifer propose, if you don’t mind me asking? Feel free to skip over this if you want to, I just heard from Asmo that it was really romantic and I’m curious 👀

How he proposed!

Oh dear, y’all are gonna get me in TROUBLE 😳😳

No matter, yes it was very sweet and romantic, and kind of unexpected if I’m being honest. We had talked about marriage a little bit, but not seriously by any means. It was mainly me making a joke like “When we get married, does that mean I’ll be like a frat house mom?” And him responding with some cheeky shit. So I was a little taken aback.

So, Saturday nights usually mean bath time for Lu and I. After bath time one night, I was standing in front of a mirror in his room in my bathrobe, adjusting a necklace when he came up behind me and wrapped an arm around my waist and laid his chin on my shoulder. I remember thinking that this was kind of weird, because he’s usually not this affectionate after bath time, but hey I wasn’t complaining.

I spun around to face him, and was met with the most beautiful ring I had ever seen held between his thumb and index finger.

When I tell you guys I stopped breathing 😳

After he reminded me to breathe again, I pointed at it and tried to stutter out something like “Whatcha got there?” or “What’s that?” but instead was interrupted by him lightly chuckling at me and saying “That’s the wrong finger, Darling”

Cheeky bastard.

I melted, and started crying immediately. He just simply said, “Marry me,” and I was his. Jeez anon you’re making all emotional and it’s not even noon yet 😂

Anyway, yeah. It was very nice, and while the memories from my human life fade a little more everyday, I think that one will stick around for a long time.

Welcome!

Hello all! My name is Blair Warwick. A lot of you probably already know me from seeing me in the halls around school, and maybe even taking my class. For those of you who don’t know me, allow me to tell you a few things about myself!

-I am a faerie. I was a human exchange student at one point, just like you, but now I am not. There is a story behind it. If you ask nicely, maybe I’ll tell it 🤗

-I teach Human History and Culture I-IV at RAD. While I haven’t been up to the human realm in a while, I do keep up with the news there, and spent the large majority of my life there. Ask me about current events!

-I have been married to Lucifer for five years now. I know some of you have your eyes on the other brothers... if you need advice on...certain things... I would be more than happy to oblige ;) 

-Lucifer and I like to keep our marriage pretty private. However, that doesn’t mean I don’t love gushing about him on the internet enough to risk getting in a ~little~ bit of trouble. Plus, I know he also has a blog here and if he sees me gushing, he’ll blush and that makes me happy. 

-If you need help with the homework, do not hesitate to ask :)
