Making Gifs from Netflix Videos

For Macs Only!

Sadly, this tutorial only works for macs, from what I can find. However, I would still read as a PC user, as you might be able to find a comparable program to the Quicktime version found on Macs. PC version of Quicktime does not have the proper feature in order to do this tutorial. It doesn’t need to be Netflix, it can also work for any online based HD streams, like Hulu, Amazon Prime, Google Play, and HBO Go — I used Netflix because it’s what I had. This method is actually super easy once you get the hang of it, and saves time/space compared to looking for and downloading films/tv shows.

For this tutorial, you will need:

Photoshop

Quicktime

Your choice of online video (Netflix in this case)

We will be making gifs like these, which were taken directly from Netflix, from the film Copenhagen

This is a guide to, specifically this time, ethnicity and race in Mexico. As a Latina, I’m tired of Americans assuming the whole world has the same race views as them. I’m tired of Americans assuming all Latinos look a certain way. Latin America comprises of 20 countries and more, so that’s obviously the most false thing you could ever believe. I started with Mexico because they were the most well-known Latinos in the US. This guide was made with the help of Wikipedia and my friend from Mexico, who approved this guide, because I know Wikipedia is not word of god. Yes, you can find this information on Wikipedia, so why did I do this at all? Well, first, this is a summarized version. You can read it super fast and learn a lot from this. Second, most people don’t bother to go to Wikipedia and inform themselves. I’m hoping this guide can be useful for the RP community and help people who write bios include more diverse, non-stereotypical Mexican characters. I am also hoping this will help you understand other countries’ view on race, and you know you can always expand your knowledge on Wikipedia. If you have any questions, you can ask me, and if I don’t know the answer, I’ll research it or ask my Mexican friends and report their answer. I may edit this if needed, and depending on how this one is received, I’m planning a whole series on almost if not all Latin American countries.
