Hello, My name is Mosab, and I live in Gaza with my family. Life here has become harder than I ever imagined, and I’m writing this with hope in my heart that you might hear our story.

The ongoing war has devastated my family. We’ve lost 25 family members—each one a beloved part of our lives, taken too soon. I miss them deeply—their laughter, their presence, their love. Every day is a reminder of this unimaginable loss.

We are now facing daily challenges to survive—things that most people take for granted, like food, clean water, and a safe place to sleep. The harsh realities of life here have replaced our dreams with the constant fight for survival.

Our Current Situation:

📚 Dreams on Hold: Like so many here, my family’s dreams have been replaced by the need to simply survive.

I rise from my grave to announce that I fell into the PvZ rabbithole, and of course I had to make gijinkas of my favorite plants ever to celebrate it!!!

Quick note: Baishu is very tanned after working out so much (I also don't know how to draw muscles) (don't mind the bleak colors either)

I also should note that Bonk Choy is apparently a Guangdong native in the Chinese almanac, so Cai Baishu would be approximately read as Choi Baakso in Cantonese (forgot to include it)

And I wound up drawing more fits for him, including the Ancient Egypt-themed outfit with a divine twist (really wanted to draw huge phantasmal "claws"/Wolverine-esque razors, but I was tired and neither looked good... Sadly)

Lili reads War and Peas, but I forgot to draw the title X) curious what book shocked her so much though...

Oh yes, I should definitely draw these two hanging out together sometime~~ Baishu & Lili watch kung fu movies, read xianxia and even train when they're with one another

Do not really know what to say. A year ago we were making posts about how Gaza was being bombed through Christmas- how the oldest Christian community was being bombed- how the birth place of Jesus was being destroyed and his people murdered. A year later, it is going to be Christmas again soon, and the bombings have not stopped. But the news, and the attention seems to have died down considerably. It feels terrible and scary.

Here goes nothing...

Samantha "Sammo" was born to famous music artists, and so she was expected to be their heiress...

...but beyond having an angelic voice and some unexplored instrument skills, she didn't commit to this and preferred cooking, sewing, painting & charity work (mostly for animals) to a potential career in the music industry - she wanted it that way always, and dresses in a much more comfortable, at times even unnoticeable way... But her parents fret about their baby anyway and always make sure she's doing well, hoping to be truly close together again

Sammo's naturally kind-hearted & good-natured with a desire to help, but people sometimes get the best of her by taking advantage of her virtues/otherwise bothering her and she bottles up a lot of anger just to not blow up at them - hence her withdrawn demeanor with strangers, hoping nobody will be a noisy pest if she goes as unnoticed as she can; but she shows her best side with the people she knows and is genuinely infatuated with a certain blue hero (perfectly aware of his mutual crush as well and hoping he'll confess out loud soon)...

Oh, Sammo owns a khao manee tomcat too (what to name him?) - no wonder she's really fond of animals, even moreso than humans X)

Fun fact, she's meant to be Thai and her voiceclaim (?) is Ratana (aka Yae Miko, Leonie, etc.)

Nothing can truly show you the reality of what's happening in Gaza, not a picture, not a video, and not even words. The truth is far worse than anything an image can capture. Families are not just enduring genocide, they’re being erased. Their history, their homes, their existence, wiped away like they were never there.

What’s left behind? Bits and pieces. Fragments. A scrap of fabric here, a shattered memory there. People are still trapped beneath the rubble. Some are alive, their voices weak but desperate, pleading for help that will never come. There’s no rescue equipment. No teams to save them. And anyone brave enough to try is met with drones, striking down anyone who gets close.

Those who’ve managed to survive aren’t just hungry, they’re freezing. Imagine huddling in a makeshift tent, shaking not just from fear but from the biting cold that seeps into your bones. The wind tears through everything, ripping apart whatever tiny bit of warmth you’ve managed to cling to. Inside the tent, there’s no comfort. Only the sound of bodies rustling as they try to stay warm, muffled cries of grief, and the haunting sound of people buried beneath the rubble, their faint cries for help echoing in the dark.

The cold doesn’t care. It doesn’t spare anyone—not children, not parents, not the elderly. It sinks into everyone, leaving them numb, both physically and emotionally. Hunger takes what little strength they have left, and the cold takes their hope. This isn’t some tragic story from the past—it’s happening right now. These are my people. This is my family.

A single line can hold the weight of an entire story, and a single choice can save a life. What if you skipped that extra coffee, brush pack, or subscription and put that money toward rescuing lives in Gaza ? Today we took our little son to the hospital because he suffers from a chest infection that affects his breathing and causes him pain. I hope that every living conscience will help us save our young son’s life and donate any amount you can.

My Family in Gaza: Stuck in a Vicious Cycle of Pain, Displacement and Death

I experienced the traumatic experience of displacement four times with my family in Gaza before I was evacuated alone to Ireland with the help of my Irish college.

No words can describe the fear that engulfs us when we see thousands of leaflets in our sky dropped from Israeli warplanes ordering us to leave for other places that are just as dangerous. It is a tedious and terrible process of packing everything we need, begging bus drivers over the phone (mostly with a feeble phone signal) to come and pick us up at any cost. Unfortunately, displacement and running from death became the daily routine of adults and children alike in Gaza.

When displaced, sniper bullets and indiscriminate heavy bombardment are not the only risks that face my family and other people. Another life-threatening problem facing people in Gaza is the sewage flooding the streets of Gaza after Israel deliberately destroyed most of the infrastructure. This led to the spread of fatal viruses and diseases like Poliomyelitis as announced by the Ministry of Health in Gaza.

It pains my heart that my beloved city Gaza has turned into an apocalyptic ghost city where innocent people, children and adults, are indiscriminately killed daily. It is shocking to see this becoming normalized and the extent to which the world has become desensitized. What happened to humanity and human rights?! When will we see a ceasefire and be able to hug and reunite with our families?! When will we wake up from this never-ending nightmare?

The Lifeless corpses of innocent Palestinians decompose in the streets of Gaza and under the rubble. These bodies become food for stray dogs. I wonder what hopes and dreams the person had before he was killed. Did it hurt? Was he scared? Was it fast or painfully slow?! Does he/ she have children? Does his/her family know?! Was he/she unlucky to be in the wrong place at the wrong time?! Most importantly, how does one decide what is a wrong place and a wrong time to be when every place and every time in Gaza is wrong?! Survival is nothing but a matter of luck in Gaza.

Imagining that this could be the fate of my family makes me go insane with heart-stopping fear!

With the increasing escalation in the region, hope for a ceasefire in Gaza fades away and I have to live every second of every day with the haunting thoughts that my family could be the next to leave this cruel world brutally. Therefore, I am exerting all efforts to get them out of Gaza and hopefully reunite with them in Ireland where I am continuing my studies.
